Scottsdale Air Heating & Cooling

Our home has two HVAC systems, both which were approximately 15 years old. When Mike Cross came to our home, he didn't begin by examining the equipment, nor did he jump to a prescribed solution. He started by asking questions, learning about our problems with heating and cooling. He wanted to know about warm spots, cold spots, noisy registers, poor air flow. Only after listening carefully to us did he begin to look over the actual equipment. Both systems were old and we knew they would need to be replaced, but Mike also recommended relocation of one outside unit to a different spot on the property. He explained how the current location was hurting it's efficiency, but did so without too much jargon or tech-speak. When the team arrived at our home, they all immediately put on booties over their shoes to protect our rugs and hardwood floors. Throughout the two days they worked at our home they showed respect and behaved in a completely professional manner. Even the office staff was immensely helpful, guiding us through the rebate paperwork offered by APS and the equipment manufacturer. In addition to the installation of new units, we also contracted with Scottsdale Air to use the Aeroseal system. This new technology seals all the small leaks throughout the duct work. In our case, when all the small leaks were added together, we were leaking air equivalent to approximately a 15" square hole! Between the replacement, unit relocation and duct sealing, we should recover all our expenses in lower utility bills in a very short time.

We decided it was time to replace a tired but still working 25 year old system. We sought 3 bids, 2 from Angie's list and 1 from a strong recommendation of a friend. Scottsdale Air was the only one to do homework prior to our first meeting so he had the footprint and square footage of our house when he arrived. Windows were measured, ceiling height was noted and a calculation was made as to what would best suit our needs. After many questions and suggestions a written, professional bid giving us 3 options was printed and submitted on the spot. The salesman was extremely responsive to later questions and patiently worked with us as we made our decision. The work was scheduled, done professionally, cleanly, and on time. Over all, it was a painless and good experience. The only small negative was there was no personal follow up after the job was done. I would certainly use this company again.

My overall experience with Scottsdale Air is EXCELLENT. The provide great customer service. Office staff are very friendly and responsive - they also provider reminder calls about the appointment, which is nice. Rodney is their staff who services my system. He is very good - thorough, helpful, and always professional. I highly recommend Scottsdale Air.

I called to make an appointment with them. They scheduled a time to arrive. Arrived promptly. Preformed a tune-up on my ac unit- which is an older unit. Checked flow from vents, etc. Charged exactly what they had stated. Was in and out in a timely manner. I will use them again next summer.

Everything went great. I was given a window for when the technician would arrive and he called ahead to tell me that he was on his way. The technician was friendly and did a very thorough job and explained to me what he did and the condition of our units. I will be calling Scottsdale Air again in the future.

Mike and crew are AWESOME! Mike is very easy to work with. He came out to our home, did an assessment of just how much A/C we need, and offered several suggestions for new AC units, as well as other improvements to help our A/C. He suggested adding insulation in the attic (ours was 1963 original now settled to R-nothing) which we did, but it wasn't enough to help the old ailing AC unit. At our request, he came out again to further discuss a new AC unit, explaining the pros and cons of heat pumps, gas furnace units, and roof mounted packages. All the while, he never tried to force us to a decision, nor did he use any of the high-pressure sales tactics other companies used (we got several estimates). We selected our unit, and less than a week later his crew arrived to install the new unit. Their installation work is pristine. They basically rebuilt the "heater closet" in our hallway to accommodate the new air handler. All of the spaces where the air flows were cleaned and sealed. They used a sound deadening material, so now we can barely hear the blower, even though its moving LOTS more air than the old unit. The compressor unit outside is also so much quieter than the old unit. Its basically right outside our bedroom window, but we don't even notice it anymore. And they left the area spotless. They did a super job! We couldn't be more pleased with Mike Cross and his team at Scottsdale Air.

ONE DAY? In June in Phoenix? What else could I ask?

From the moment you call for your estimate to the completion of your job you are in capable honest hands. Everyone I dealt with were very capable. This company is excellent at customer service including honest service.

I would use this contractor again in a heart beat. There are far too many service providers out there that have a great sales pitch followed by mediocre service or products. These guys, by contrast, are the real deal. Professional from beginning to end. Cannot say enough for them.

call.The service call went smoothly. I am glad I called ahead of time for an appointment. They will be plenty busy when the summer heats up. Timely arrival is big in my book. I can't tell you how many times I have sat around waiting for a service call.

I was looking for estimates to replace my original A/C with a high efficiency Trane system. I met with Mike, who was very thorough and followed HVAC industry standards by performing a J-load calculation to ensure a proper fit/size with my house. Not only was the estimate completed using proper HVAC guidelines; but the proposal price was the lowest of all the others I received. The installers were very professional, courteous and clean. They did such a great job, I am using them to replace another system in a house I own with a senior parent.

We replaced our 20 year old air conditioner with a new Trane energy efficient unit. Mike the owner of the company had come to our house to give us estimate and recommendation. I was surprised to learn our house was not insulated well. We had the insulation done before getting a new air conditioner. The new unit runs very quietly and the cooling is very comfortable. The technicians were polite and professional. Workmanship was excellent. They clearly explained the operation of the unit before leaving. I would highly recommend this company.

I needed to replace my current system that has been giving me problems for a few years and also needed some roof work done. I located a roofer that I felt I could trust and confirmed that he would coordinate with an air conditioning contractor as necessary to get both jobs done professionally and correctly. I found Scottsdale Air on Angie's List. The reviews were exemplary and indicated that the company seemed to care about it's customers, the quality of work they performed for their customers and that they were competent, qualified, professional and prompt. In short, they had all the qualities I was looking for; a company I could trust to listen to my needs and tell me honestly what they could and would do to fulfill those needs. I actually went to Scottsdale Air's business address as my first contact with the company. I was greeted courteously and asked to speak with someone about the work I was looking to have done. I was introduced to Jeff Webster. He listened intently to everything I had to say, all the questions I had about the various manufacturers of systems, the types of systems available, the features and efficiencies of the systems available, the type of installation that I had, the problems that I was having with my current system (slow freon leaks, condensation drain issues, the location of the condenser on the roof, coordination of work with my roofing contractor, etc.). He patiently answered every question and concern I had and then agreed to set an appointment to look at my current system and home and provide an analysis of what could be done to meet my needs and what that would cost. Jeff arrived promptly at our appointment time, listened again to everything that I was looking to accomplish (remove the old system completely, install a new high efficiency system, relocate the roof mounted condenser (due to noise and roof leak problems), install a condensate pump to get the air conditioning condensation to drain outside the home, and do it all in a high quality and professional manner with no shortcuts or errors and at the same time, coordinate with the roofing contractor for the roofing work that I needed done while the old condenser unit was removed and prior to the new condenser unit being placed). We talked about manufacturers, the various models of units available and their efficiency, the features of each and the warranty and extended warranty available for each. I was never pressured to go with one manufacturer over another, or to go for a specific model of a manufacturer. What I wanted was a high end system that would last a long time and be backed by a strong warranty and a local company that I could trust to keep it in good running order for many years to come. I decided to go with a Trane high efficiency, variable speed, two stage cooling, heat pump (split system) and an extended warranty that covers parts and labor for 12 years and that is transferrable to a new owner if I sell the house in the future. The Proposal/Contract price to accomplish this was $10, 675. There was a manufactures discount of $1000. (There is also a rebate available from SRP and a tax credit of $300. All of the completed paperwork for the rebate was provided to me by Scottsdale Air.) On Monday, the installation specialist from Scottsdale Air arrived at 8:00 am. He was very professional and competent and listened to me as I reviewed what Jeff and I had agreed to as far as the installation was concerned. He confirmed his intentions to follow my requests as they had been agreed to and told me how he planned to accomplish all of the steps of the uninstall of the old system and the installation of the new equipment. He was genuinely determined to meet my expectations of a professional, quality installation. He had an assistant available to help him with the removal of the old air handler/coil and accomplish the "through the roof" installation of the new refrigerant lines, control wiring and condensate drain line. Bob was friendly, courteous and professional. He did an excellent job and he answered every question I had along the way. That day, everything was completed inside and all of the outside work (refrigerant line, condensate drain line, electrical line run, etc.) was accomplished. Over the course of the next two days the roofing contractor accomplished the work needed to be done before the roof mounted condenser unit was placed and the final connections and system startup and operation checks were completed on Thursday. All work was done professionally in a workmanlike manner and the job site was left clean and orderly. I have a completely new system, quiet and efficient, installed by a company and people that I trust and that really displayed that they cared about what I wanted. The final cost will be about $8725 (after the manufacturer rebate, SRP rebate and a Federal Tax Credit) and it will be covered by a 12 year parts and labor extended/transferrable warranty. I couldn't be happier and I will be using Scottsdale Air to keep my system tuned and repaired as necessary in the future. I highly recommend them.

Firstly, Jeff, the salesperson/tech was as nice a person as one could imagine. He was prompt, courteous, and very professional. Answered all my questions fully. He took heat-load calculations and determined what kind of split system I needed, as well as suggested modifications to the duct work and air-returns to increase efficiency. His install team was also top-notch. The first day he sent a crew of four technicians, each courteous, clean, competent, and extremely diligent in their work habits. One was better than the other when it came to their own work skills. I cannot over-stress Scottsdale Air's attention to detail. From the installation of a new dedicated electrical line to feed the steam humidifier, to the metal work on the base that the air-handlers sat-on. Top-notch (and I can be very critical). In my mind I could not have found a more qualified company to do the work. The confidence they instilled from the moment they arrived was gratifying since I was spending quite a bit of money for this system Even their trucks (they arrived with four) seemed brand new and very clean. Kudos for this company. Service is key, even more so than product, sometimes, and this company went the extra mile in every way. I highly recommend them.

Overall, great experience. Jeff was super helpful on the front side of things. Only reason for a "B" on professionalism is they were smoking on the job and took a bit longer than expected. Not a huge deal.

I didn't actually do the job with this company, but Jeff came out and did a very professional and clear job assessing what needs to be done and communicating it to me. I had a million and one questions and he was quite patient and addressed them all. In answering my questions, he seemed to be guided by integrity more than a quick sale - which is huge when making a sizeable investment like this. I didn't use this company - despite competitive offer and strong vibe of integrity - because of factors independent of Scottsdale Air.I would recommend anybody looking for an estimate to contact this co.I contacted many and they are one of the best in my experience, as far as the initial stage is concerned.

We called Scottsdale Air when the house was slowly getting warmer around 3 PM in the afternoon. This was the first day the outside temperature crossed 110. The tech arrived within 2 hours and had the trouble resolved less than an hour later. Considering the high temps and the fact they were probably overloaded with service calls we were impressed by their quick arrival and fast resolution of the trouble. We purchased our unit from them and have scheduled maintenance performed. They are highly recommended for selling quality products, professional service, competitive prices and reliability.

Much to my surprise only one installer arrived on the appointed day. I asked if there would be others. He said no. The entire removal, mounting and installation, including instructions on our new thermostat took about three and a half hours. Our installer explained each step and answered all of my questions, even as he was perched on the roof. The new frame for the air return was not the right model, but was quickly replaced after a call to the office. It's install required some customization, which was thoroughly explained. The customization was successful and I have a new intake frame. After finishing on the roof our installer made sure the system was function properly. That was followed by instructions on how to operate the 7 day programmable thermostat. Overall the installation went very well. The system is functioning well, the air is cold and I can already see a reduction in my energy costs. A note: I rated professionalism an A, but if A- were offered would have selected it. The reason was that the installer smoked while he was on the roof. Everything else about him, his attitude and his work, were first rate. I would recommend Scottsdale Air for their fair prices and quality systems.

An overall pleasant experience. Human answered phone very polite and professional. Called in late morning and service technician arrived that afternoon within time window given. Technician very professional and through. Problem found within 20 minutes with updates as to what was found and what to expect as far as repair needed with cost. No upselling involved. I will use this company again, should the need arise
