On time and very professional. Got two bids and Scottsdale Air's was the lower, fixed A/C and it is running smoothly

Thee owner showed up promptly to give us an estimate. He had a computer and measuring tape and measured the house dimensions (from outside). The dimensions were used to estimate the size of the units we needed to efficiently heat/cool our home. We were surprised that they recommended a smaller model for the upstairs compared to downstairs (3 Ton, 5 Ton). The installation team clearly worked well together as a team. They also arrived on time and the installation took most of the day. They answered questions and fixed the ducts in our attic to eliminate unnecessary length (our bedroom subsequently now is the right temperature!). The price was not the highest, and not the lowest. We went with a Lennox system and really like the dual stage compressor. The startup and shutdown are much quieter than our Trane (single stage, 17 year old! system) was. Our energy bill was reduced immediately and every month since. We have recommended Scottsdale Air to friends and they also were pleased with their services.

Very nice guy came to go over the details and explain the procedures. Went through the house and got measurements and went over options. The only reason I didnt go with them is another company offered the same package at just a slightly lower amount. But if I wouldnt have gotten that quote I would have definitely used them. I feel they are very good at what they do based on my interaction with them.

I had an AC unit that was only a few years old but had been so poorly built and installed by another company it quit working. It was literally held together in my attic with duct tape. Scottsdale Air came in and evaluated what we needed to cool and heat our house most efficiently. They installed the unit quickly and sealed it up so well our AC bills were cut in half. They were extremely patient with my husband who suffers from a Neuro disorder and came back to our house with no charge just to double check and reassure him that the unit was cooling the living areas instead of the attic.

All the visits were exceptional. The first tech, Robert, checked out the units and couldn't turn one of them on - mice had invaded it and chewed through some wiring. Robert took the cover off and repaired the damage. A few days later, Michael called to set up a time to take a look at the cause of the air noise from one of the units. He came out and we discussed the solution and decided to make a new, insulated return. Michael promised to send me a proposal in two days and it arrived when promised. A week later, two techs showed up. Both were polite, courteous and fully explained what they were going to do. They put drop cloths down and replaced the return, two return grills and one of the drip pans. One tech, Bob, mentioned that even though I had 3 1/2 ton units outside, the air handlers were 5 tons and he wondered if the installer (this was installed only 4 years ago) set the air handler to 3 1/2 tons. They didn't, so he set it properly. I asked him if he could check the other unit - it turned out that unit was also set to 5 tons so Bob set it correctly. While he was up there working on the unit he didn't come to repair he noticed that the covers weren't on properly so he fixed that as well - he went above and beyond! Very happy with the service I received from Scottsdale Air.

The installers (all 5 of them) were outstanding. I've never worked with a more professional company in my home. We've built and custom home and live in a track home that was remodeled and we can honestly say this company is tops.

They were prompt professional and very easy to work with. The salesman was very concerned with our needs and was not intent on selling a system the was more than required for our home. A follow up service call was made within hours of my call to them. All staff took the time to answer all my questions thoroughly. Would definitely use their services again and will recommend them to others.

Scottsdale Air Heating and Cooling are very professional and reasonable on their prices. Really enjoyed working with them. The owner met with me to provide options and quotes and was always very responsive in returning calls. The install team showed up on time and were very efficient and professional during the installation. They took the time to check duct work to make sure the air was transferring to all register's making sure all rooms are being cooled/heated. Would definitely use them again.

They were great and everything you could possibly want in a HVAC repair service. The electronics on one of our A/C units has burned out. I had another company come out, who said they could replace the whole electronics for $1600, but recommended we instead replace the 9-yr old A/C condensor unit with a new one for $3600. That seemed like an upsell, so I called Scottsdale Air to see what they recommended. The repairman was great. He immediately saw that the electronics were actually OK, and that he just needed to redo the wiring. The A/C works perfectly again! The whole repair cost was just $184, versus the unnecessary $1600 the first company wanted, not to mention the $3600 upsell the first company was pressing for. The repairman from Scottsdale Air said he had worked for other local A/C companies before, and that most of them use commission-based compensation to push their service people to steer their customers into buying entirely new units. Scottsdale Air clearly does not do that - they pay their service people fairly and let them repair what can be repaired. What more could you ask for?! They are great, and we'll use them for all our heating and A/C work for here on.

The serviceman was on time, friendly, professional, and performed the work satisfactorily. However, the thermostat he installed has a retail cost of approximately $50. We were charged $226 for the thermostat and installation, plus a $95 trip charge. The entire job took him less than half an hour. We think this was an outrageous price to pay for this service. Companies we have used in the past waive the trip or inspection charge when services are performed. We contacted them based on reviews on Angie's list, but when it comes time for replacement of our unit, it is unlikely that we will use them again.

I wanted to convey to everyone on Angie's List that we were very, very happy with the pre-sale estimates, installation service, and post-installation instructions and support from Scottsdale Air and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND them to anyone requiring either service or complete replacement. Our units were the same age as our house, 14 years, and were beginning to run up high maintenance costs (over $1000 each for some recently recommended service). We looked on Angie's List and selected the three top providers and obtained estimates from each of them. Our estimator for Scottsdale Air was Michael Cross, who spent almost 2 hours reviewing our home, taking measurements and calculating the actual requirements, which turned out to require a smaller AC unit for our first floor. He then presented four options and the relative pros and cons of each and we selected one. Their workmen showed up on-time for a two-day job that was a LOT of work. The indoor units were located upstairs in our attic, and both the old and new replacement units had to be broken-down in order to fit through the available access hole! Other providers were going to cut a new hole in the upstairs ceiling which we would be required to repair! The entire job took the full two days and the system has performed flawlessly since installation. The best part is, we are already seeing significant savings of over $100 per month on our electricity bills thanks to the higher SEER of the new units. Finally, Scottsdale Air provided all of the required paperwork and instructions to obtain rebates from both SRP and Lennox, and the rebates went through successfully with no problems. I would highly recommend Scottsdale Air for any of your service or replacement needs, and thank you again, Michael, for the excellent support!

I called at 715 Saturday morning for emergency visit due a/c stopped working while i was out of town. Had a call back at 730 from their on-call tech Tony who arrived by 9 and rather quickly determined there was a large hole in a copper tube and all the coolant had escaped. It was an older unit (2002) so coolant refill would be appx $1000 and we couldn't be sure it would work once refilled because running without coolant & sucking in outside air was not good for the compressor. Given the units age and risk of $1000 down the drain, I decided to check out prices on a replacement unit. Tony called the office and Mike the owner was out to spec a new unit and provide pricing within an hour. We had limited options due to the amount of space available on the roof but there was a similar 3.5 ton 13 seer Trane that would 'drop right in'. Agreed to go with this because pricing seemed reasonable and they had a slot open Monday morning to do the install. Mike was great to work with and this was really an enjoyable transaction. Tech Rob showed up at 9a on Monday and the crane to lift the old unit off the roof and put the new one in was there by 1030. Install went well and included a new wifi-enabled thermostat thrown in for free (along with a new air intake vent cover that Mike had noticed was broken when we were reviewing the bid). Mike agreed to waive the Saturday diagnostic fee and allowed me to use their Angie's List coupon so I can't say enough about the excellent all-around service and professionalism of everyone I dealt with at Scottsdale Air. I've used them before and will use them again. This is a great company with great people.

I've used Scottsdale Air Conditioning twice now. First time was in April of this year when my upstairs air handler blower stopped blowing air. The technician was supposed to show up by 5pm, and when he didn't I called them and apparently there was a mix up and they had the service scheduled in their calendar for the following day. But they quickly offered to send a technician over that evening to make it right. The technician quickly determined that the problem with the motor was a bad start up capacitor and had it replaced in a few minutes. I used them again this week because the outdoors unit for my downstairs air conditioner was making terrible noises (it sounded like a lawnmower running). The technician showed up on schedule this time, and of course the air conditioner was running quietly when he showed up. He did find that the fan motor run capacitor was weak on that unit and replaced that. Then as he was reassembling it he noticed that the rubber cowling above the fan was hanging low and was very close to the fan blades. Apparently in the late afternoon heat the rubber would get soft enough for it to sag and hit the fan making the noise, but before the heat of the day it would just clear the fan. Two of the screw clips on the rubber cowling had simply torn away leaving one side unsupported. The technician quickly (and cleverly) rotated the rubber cowling and made some new holes for the screws and had it securely re-attached to the top cover of the A/C unit in no time. He also checked the capacitor on the upstairs unit and found it to be good. Overall I'm very happy with the work performed and professionalism of the technicians. I will call them again if I need any air conditioner service.

These guys are super.... WOW. Purchased an annual service agreement. Highly recommend them, will use them again! The service tech fixed a problem I was unaware of, very quickly and professionally. Very seldom do you have someone doing this type of work who is so professional as well as skilled.

There is only one adjective that I can use to describe the experience: professional service. The technician showed up in a resonable time, got started quickly, finished the job and the A/C is now working like a champ.

They did an excellent job. They were very professional. Three years later, our new AC unit is running like a champ with no problems at all. Two years ago, they recharged our older AC unit on the other side of the house, and it continues to work well. I would highly recommend them and use them again in the future if needed.

It went great. They handled all the rebate paperwork that was available in my area. I've used them for 15 years now. Ive always been satisfied.

My old air conditioner was no longer cooling property and was making lots of noise. I called Scottsdale Air based on their reviews here. They wound up charging my system with a few pounds of refrigerant and recommending that the entire system be replaced. The system was 15 years old at the time. The work itself was performed properly as far as I can tell and the system did indeed need replacing. The only reason I have given them a B, rather than an A, was a non-disclosure issue and a possible pricing issue. The charge for the refrigerant was much more than I ever would have guessed and the price was never discussed at all until the bill was prepared. At that point, of course, the work was already complete. I doubt that I would have had the system charged based on the need to replace the system. This just ended up being an extra, unnecessary expense. I also called a few other vendors and this company's charge for refrigerant was higher than any of the other companies I called. All of the other vendors I called are also on Angie's List. After the work was complete I called their office to express my shock at the price of the refrigerant and the fact that I hadn't been told of the price ahead of time. The lady I spoke to was very nice and apologized for the lack of disclosure. She said this isn't what would normally happen and I have no reason to disbelieve her. It's just that I wound up having to pay for an unnecessary expense right before getting a completely new system so, of course, I wasn't too happy at the time. I don't have any reason to doubt that their services are normally very good and I wouldn't necessarily avoid using them. I just feel that the lack of disclosure in this case warrants giving them a B, rather than an A. Mistakes happen, but I have to review accurately based on my experience. Shortly afterwards, I did end up getting the entire system replaced by another company also found on Angie's List.

We had purchased a coupon from another company to service our AC before the summer hit, as we had not done that since we bought our house. During that service, we learned the unit is original to the house, and to fix it would cost approx. $1500, or we could replace it. Accordingly, we called 2 additional companies to give us quotes for the replacement, one of which was Scottsdale Air. We were given a time window of 11am - 2pm, and Mike Cross arrived promptly (in my opinion) at 11:30am. He had done his homework and researched the floorplan of our home in order to get the load capacity measurements started. He performed the load capacity calculations and provided me with the printout. He took me through his recommendations for our home and provided me with quotes for 4 different systems ranging in price. Mike was extremely professional and answered all the questions I had. Ultimately, we did not chose Scottsdale Air because my husband was more comfortable with the original company we used and the pricing and options were a little more competitive. But we would not hesistate to use Scottsdale Air in the future. I cannot speak highly enough of how impressed I was with their professionalism.

Most professional AC company I have ever dealt with. And I've dealt with many.

Tony came to service the HVAC system late last year. At that time, I asked him what my options were because my upstairs temperature was way off what I though it should be; the thermostat read far warmer than the whole upstairs. He explained to me my options.. One of them was to move the thermostat. It was placed upstairs in an open area where the warm air from below would rise and make the unit think it's warmer that it really is. So I asked him to come back, and move the upstairs thermostat as well as replace it and the downstairs one with more modern units. He did, and replaced my upstairs thermostat with a modern touch screen one, and moved it down the hall.. It's made a dramatic difference in the home and I owe a debt to him for coming up to an easy solution to what seemed to me a very perplexing issue. I will definitely use this company again, and I recommend them to everyone. They're not cheap, but they do good, quality work, and are dependable, professional, and friendly.
