Orangutan AC Service

Orangutan AC service is SERIOUSLY bad: dishonest and non professional. Most staffs at Orangutan are not equipped to provide pertinent services and have serious lack of knowledge to repair or provide maintenance but their service fee is outrageous. I paid for maintenance service fee of $297/year for cleaning evaporate indoor, condenser outdoor coils, flushing and cleaning condensation line, calculation measurement of all motors, and roof inspection etc. First, John came and said he did clean indoor coils and drained pipes but did not send me photos of coils (before and after) on my request. He said he cleaned everything (he did not clean underneath of the evaporate coil and did not clean outdoor coil either) and found the pipe has issue (burst/cracks) and it should be replaced ($299 for 25 feet replacement charge). He then sent me Steve to replace the pipe. Second man, Steve came and said pipe did not burst and he drained one of corners of the pipe. It worked for 2 hours and leaked again. Third man, Omar came and found that there was a blanket of dust collected under the evaporate coil. Because of very thick dust collected over the 3 years (since the installment of AC by Orangutan), condensation occurred which was the cause of leaking water. If Orangutan did provide a proper service during the 3 years of maintenance program, this shouldn't happen. For 3 years, Orangutan did not clean under the evaporate coil and outdoor coil (I haven't seen anyone who cleaned the outdoor coil or underneath the evaporate coil) but charged me yearly maintenance program fee. Consumers deserve to receive a better quality of service from a good company. Orangutan is not a RIGHT COMPANY who can give you satisfaction on your service request.

Orangutan has not only lack of basic 101 customer service but also buys cheap AC capacitors made in China (you can buy it $10 from Amazon) and charge over $350 for capacitor replacement. Worst part, they don’t give warranty unlike other companies who give 1 year warranty. My capacitor blew out less than a year. Especially answering service staff, Sherry gave me a conflicting information. Tried to file a complaint but manager, Kim did not call back for 2 days. They don’t bother to intervene and have been ignorant. NOT worth to use Orangutan
