OMG this job lead by Eddie Salazar was so great. They were on time. They were neat. They were respectful of my premises: everything was left the way they found it. There was no overspray. Their taping was perfect, I had no uneven lines or bleeds. The team completed it in 1.25 days. They also did not dilute my paint which I was very specific about. My excess paint was left for me. They replaced the house numbers, lights, mailbox etc. after finishing painting. I couldn't be happier and I would hire them again. The price was reasonable, right in the middle of everybody else's estimates.

UPDATE: To follow on the Provider Response - I agree that we did walk through the house together at the end of the job, and I agree that depending on time of day, the light shines differently on the surfaces. But frankly --- I shouldn't have to walk through to confirm everything your crew did was done correctly - that should be your job as owner/manager. In retrospect, I should have just asked if you felt the job was completed to YOUR expectation before leaving. I'm pretty sure if you had evaluated a bit closer, yuo woudl have seen it was not acceptable. Unfortunately, we continue to find more areas that appear to be unfinished or completed with two different types of paint - especially the doors and baseboards - when much of the paint appears to be the same flat white pain used on the ceilings (instead of the usual semi-gloss). Although we appreciate the offer to return again to correct - at this point, I think we will just do it ourselves to make sure it gets completed once and for all. ORIGINAL REVIEW: In a nut-shell, we had a challenging experience with Marcel Painting. Kelly (owner) seems like a good guy, with his heart on the right spot towards developing a quality-focused company - but his paint crew sent to our house did not deliver. My advise to Kelly is that he re-evaluate his workers to ensure they share the same concept of what quality means. What was quoted to be a 3-day job, the crew seemed rushed to finish in 2 days (onsite between 8:00am -3:30pm both days). Although we appreciated their attempt at efficiency, this certainly showed in their lack of effectiveness and quality. Kelly did arrange to have his team come back out the next week to patch up some open spots, but this did not address all the challenges with this paint job. The majority of the walls and ceiling space appears to be OK - although I do still question if 2 coats were actually applied as quoted. It's unfortunate we need focus on the 20% that was not done right vs. the 80% that seems to be OK - but in this case, that 20% includes some pretty visible issues: - Doors. Very inconsistent, and on some doors used the wrong paint (looks like flat ceiling paint). Some look like they are barely touched by paint. I have seen this feedback in our comments here - and it stands true. I'm not sure Marcel's crew know how to paint a door. At this point, we will need to repaint many of the doors again ourselves. - Edges. Paint in the wall/ceiling edges are also very inconsistent. In may spots, it looks like they decided not to tape the edges and attempted to simply hand-brush or roller as close as possible - many times, the paint line ran over to the other side. - Ceilings. In multiple spots (again), it looks like they deciding not to tape off the walls when doing the ceiling, and you can clearly see where the new paint was rolled but not to the corners (and old paint on edges is still showing). - Bathrooms. The paint application around our showers/tubs was atrocious. Again - it looked like they forgot to tape in the bathroom, and it certainly showed. Kelly has his guys come back out and re-caulk the showers/tubs, but they still need a lot of work to get looking normal. Although I appreciate Kelly bringing his team back the next week to address the issues - at the end of the day, they still did not address many of the visible flaws. We put pieces of blue tape around the areas we wanted addressed, and they simply pulled the tape off the areas upon arrival - so there was no longer a reference for what we wanted done. That was pretty frustrating. At the end of the day, we certainly weren't looking for perfection here - but there is a definite line between good effort vs. just trying to get the job done as quickly as possible. We have a lot of touch-up still to do.

Carlos and his team did a great job. This is the third time Marcel has painted for us in the last year and they have always been very professional and mask off everything. I would highly recommend them and use them again in the future. Thanks to David as well for his help with this project.

Painting went pretty well. Paco & Angel were very friendly & professional, but this was their 1st time finishing doors, which was very disappointing. I would of stained & clear coated the alder doors myself, but they cost ~$5000 & I didn't want to risk doing it myself without prior experience. Unfortunately, this was their 1st time doing this type of work & they only did a mediocre job. I believe I would have done a better job myself. Marcel painting should have provided more training or more experienced workers for finishing the doors.

Overall, fairly well. We still have an unresolved issue, they have to finish and I am confident that they will, it is just a matter of finding the right person. They were supposed to stain my banister on the steps and the guy painted the stain on, obviously he was too afraid to tell his boss, that he didn’t know how to do this and made a mess of my banister. They are going to fix it but it is just a matter of finding the person that is available at the right time. They are on my list to call this week. Everything else was positive. They were pretty good cleaning up. They did a decent job. I am not happy about some of the things and they did a good job on the painting and at a reasonable price. They didn’t show up the day they were supposed to show up, they left me hanging. They were very professional about it, they came back and said they would redo it however, this is the end of January and it has been over a month and I still don’t have a railing done. If they are really good about doing the job that they need to get done and it looks great, I will be happy to use them again.

Painters were punctual and professional. Explained work satisfactorily where end result was not perfect. Cleanup at the end of the job was satisfactory, but not great (i.e. items not put back in proper place, tape and plastic remaining on the wall)

Marcels team was great from the start. They showed up on time from the first day. The estimate given was spot on and the team did a great job on all the tasks we hired them to do. Not only was the paint job great, but the were very clean and efficient. I would & will use them again in the future. Thank you to the entire staff at Marcel Paining. -JP

What a wonderful job they did. The trim, the ceilings, the lines between the ceiling and walls...all perfect. No spills on carpets....no smudges of paint everywhere....left my home in great shape. Fantastic work! Painters were extremely professional and pleasant. Nice job!

They painted the walls, baseboards and ceiling throughout my house using three colors. They did an awesome job and actually painted after I installed new carpet throughout the house. Yes, they taped everything and the detail was superb. I highly recommend this company.

David is very professional and easy to work with, arrives early for the appointment and gives you the estimate right after he's done measuring. When his crew arrived the day of the paint project, they were on time and masked everything off correctly. I was very pleased with their work and will use them again in the future for other projects.

Marcel painted the exterior of my cement block home. They did excellent work and completed the job in one day. Scheduling was a breeze, and everyone was friendly and great to work with.

We got them from Angie's List and we were very happy with them. Some arrogant guy wanted to paint the place and he wanted twenty five thousand. We had about three other people come in and Marcel came in at half that price. They came when they should have and finished the work calmly. I would definitely rate them highly. He was very polite and got the work done in a timely fashion.

We got numerous estimates and David from Marcel seemed to have a fair price. They responded right away with the scope of work detailed in writing. The "foreman", Jorge was very polite and professional, as were his two other painters. They put a lot of effort into covering, taping base boards and prep work. A challenge they met was painting a dark green wall with a lighter color. It took many coats of paint and the guys did an excellent job making it work. They left things clean and helped my husband move the furniture back too. When there was a slight "snag", the owner, Kelly stepped up to the plate and offered his 100% Customer Satisfaction. He took care of the problem immediately and we were quite impressed. Kelly is a real "stand-up" guy who genuinely cares about his customers - very refreshing to see these days! We will definitely refer Marcel Painting to family and friends!

I had asked him to dig around so the paint goes below the ground and they did that. I appreciated it. After they painted one of the gates, I guess painting made it worst because it wouldn't close right. i asked them to come back and repair it and they did. When they came back for the touch up something, it took 3 or 4 months which I thought was too much. But they did it and they did it with a nice attitude. There was a crack with one the exterior walls and they guy first told me that he painted over it. He said that they can't repair it and I said they better repair it and I said that I would call the salesman back and he said, "Okay, let's see what I can do." And he did a beautiful repair. But he didn't want to and that I didn't like.

I would highly recommend Marcel painting. They answer the phone and helped me in very professional manner. I was very happy with the work and the service. The person they sent was Richard and he did a very good job and I appreciated his attention to detail and his helpful attitude. I would recommend Marcel to my friends and would and will not hesitate to use them again. I give them the highest rating for the service.

I was very pleased with the painting that was done and the workmanship of the two gentlemen.

They arrived on time, but they DID NOT remove the hangers where pictures had been hung or do any repair of the walls. They also removed wall paper from three rooms. They did a very good job of that. Price was higher because we changed paints in the middle.

They were great. David came out and did the bid and was prompt, quick, courteous, and gave me a very detailed bid with several things broken out so I could pick and choose what I wanted. The two man crew who did the job were also prompt , detail-oriented, and did a great job. When they were done, we did a final walk through and they fixed all the minor issues I pointed out. All in all, a very wonderful job.

They do excellent work; they are dependable, very professional and I highly recommend them.

The supervisor Juan was excellent. He was friendly, helpful and insisted on making sure I was totally satisfied. The job was done in short time and to my satisfaction.

I called Marcel Painting three weeks ago and a nice person came out. Received an estimate of $975.00. Since the holidays were coming I wanted to complete the work as I was busy. They did not arrive until today, which is November 26 at 7:30 A.M. They cancelled yesterday. After they arrived they left to purchase the stain, starting the job around 8:30 A.M. They used the polyurethane we had in the garage. They masked off the windows and applied stain. They left about noon. About 2 PM a third person arrived from Marcel Painting wanting to match the stain; I explained the workers had already completed the work. When my son called from Rhode Island (he is a painter there) he could not believe we paid $975.00 for two men to stain four posts, light trim work and the front door. Said this is more than EXCESSIVE! Breaks down to about $278 per hour. The painters were pleasant but the cost was too much. Is this the same company as Marcel Painting, LLC in Scottsdale? The contract I signed says Marcel Painting (no LLC) in Tempe, Az. with salesman David Pacheco.

Both painters were very professional and did an excellent job.

My fiancé and I just moved into a new house and we noticed the gate was beginning to rust. One weekend we attempted to chip off the old paint and were planning on repainting it ourselves but realized that the job would be too time consuming for just the two of us. We also found that it was going to be difficult to paint under the gate being that it was only a few centimeters off of the ground. We liked that Marcel offered electrostatic painting. We figured this would solve the rust problem in hard to reach places. My fiancé got a quote online after stating the width/length of gate and sending pictures. We picked out our paint at Dunn-Edwards and they scheduled an appointment with us to come out on a Saturday. During that week (on a Wednesday) it rained. Marcel called to tell us that they were now running behind in their appointments so they pushed our date back 1 week. The next week 2 men came out and painted our fence it took them approx. 4 hours. The next day after the paint had dried we went outside to inspect their work. Everything looked great except the underside of the gate. There were rust patches still visible along with old flaking paint still attached. We want to maintain the integrity of the gate for years. My fiancé emailed Marcel and requested they come out to fix it. Marcel did not initially respond. My fiancé then called Marcel and spoke with the receptionist who said she had already talked to me (I had not spoken with them about that). Finally I called and questioned the receptionist about this and she said there must have been a mix up. She scheduled the painters to come back out the next day. A man came out and repainted the underside of the gate and now we are happy with the results. The process of getting the gate painted was somewhat of a headache but the quality appears to be good.
