Green ID

One of the most important things to me is punctuality, and during the four days that I interacted with this crew, they always showed up when they said they would.  Green ID has competitive pricing, friendly staff, and they completed quality work that I am extremely happy with.  I own an older home that has not been maintained for decades of previous owners, and Green ID was able to address all of our problems to make it more energy-efficient.  The owner, David, is very informative and encourages questions.  I feel confident that I won't have to deal with this again for many years to come because the work was done right the first time, AND I can enthusiastically recommend this company to future potential clients.

Michael came to the home to perform the preliminary work. He arrived right on time, talked about the audit,collected information and started to work. He did a thorough job which took about 7 hours. He did a review after the testing and said that David would be out for a follow-up on the results. Very friendly and professional, did a thorough job. David comes out later this week for the review.

I had a very mixed experience with the company, which made it difficult to grade them. The initial energy audit was extensive, it took over four hours, and the final result was excellent. Stephen and Patrick were very thorough, educated me on the condition of my home, and gave a clear explanation of the benefits I could expect from the retrofit.They were very professional and personable, and I was favorably impressed. I had the work done about six weeks later. The crew was here the better part of the day. After they left I found mastic, a white crusty substance, in various areas, on a bath mat, on the patio, on my carpet. The only place where I was able to remove it was the patio by scraping it off. Patrick had said he would come back for the "test-out" about a week later. When I did not hear from him I called, and it took repeated phone calls and e-mails to get it scheduled because when he did leave messages it was on my home phone when I had asked him more than once to call my cell phone.  When Patrick came back for the re-test nearly three weeks later he could not complete it, because he found that the crew had installed the insulation wrong and it had to be redone, which was inconvenient as I had other work in my home scheduled. He paid me for replacing the bath mat and said he would try to find out how to get the mastic out of the carpet. A few weeks later a different person came to redo the work which took several hours. He did an excellent job, he was very thorough, efficient and professional, I was very pleased. The retest was done a few days later and the results were excellent. Patrick never came up with a solution for getting the mastic out of the carpet. Since it was a very small area and the carpet cleaners were able to lighten the smudge I did not pursue it. My main problem with this company was that at every step of the way I had to pursue Patrick to get anything scheduled or done, or even to get a response to e-mails and phone calls. I can understand delays due to overload or crisis situations, but a quick e-mail or voice message only takes seconds. At one point I was so frustrated  that I considered filing a complaint to get a response. This is the reason I would not use this company again.

Overall the audit was very efficient. I did use some other companys to complete some of the work do to price.

There are 2 rooms in the house that never cool down.  After the audit, David came out and provided me with a detailed plan on what could be done to improve the cooling of the rooms as well as the entire house.  The plan consisted of adding more insulation in the attic, sealing the return lines to reduce warm air entering into the AC system, and rerouting some of the AC runs.  He discussed with me 2 different options to improve the cooling of the two warm rooms.  David was open to answering all my questions and evaluating my suggestions.  We came up with a plan to add another line to each of the rooms and put dampers in to redirect air from rooms not used as much.  David and his team spent 2 days at the house and were very professional and helpful.  The result is those 2 rooms have never been cooler!  We are very happy with how cool the entire house feels after the work Green ID performed.  I am very pleased with the work David and his team did and would highly recommend them to help cool down your house!

Upon discussing all options, we decided to have GreenID to perform the work we wanted to do, David was very helpful and provided information for us to consider without any pressure to do anything. On the scheduled appointment date, the GreenID crew was prompt and ready to go to work. The work was extensive, ducts were replaced and rerouted as necessary, new plenum chambers designed and installed with dampeners to better regulate the air flow and balance the air distribution within the home. All vents were sealed to prevent leakage and anywhere leakage was identified was sealed or caulked. After all work was completed another pressure test was performed and compared to the original audit data and there was quite a difference, basically, almost zero leakage was found. We also had additional insulation blown into the attic which already has provided us with a quieter home and we actually don't hardly hear the system operating when it's on. The technicians performed the work without incident and very professionally, When all work was completed, any debris was removed as if they weren't even here. We are very pleased with the work and so far with the results. Great Job!!

Report was received within 3 business days. Very professional report along with separate recommendations. My husband was afraid that they would just "try to sell us something" but I found the information provided was exactly what we were looking for with no "hard sell".

I first had a home energy audit done.  Michael took his time and checked for leaks as well as checked for insulation issues in the attic.  Overall the energy audit took 3 hours or so.  He found some issues with the insulation as well as confirmed a hot exterior wall with an IR camera.  Next, David presented the results and suggested some fixes to address the things they found.  David is pretty upfront and honest about what to expect and will let you know what's the best bang for the buck.  He and his crew spent about 3 days completing all the work.   My house had a lot of soffits that were not properly insulated.  David and his crew either sealed them off or insulated the actual cavity.  They also rerouted the flex lines which instantly improved the cooling and heating to the problem areas of the house.  They also added more insulation in the attic.   If you know anything about blown-in insulation, you know that it is extremely dusty and dirty.  Just be prepared to have some dust especially wherever your attic entrance is at.  Despite the mess, the quality of the work was very good.  SRP sent out an independent auditor after all the work was completed and that person was impressed with the quality and said that these guys must have taken a lot of time.  He went on to mention most companies just blow insulation on top but David and his crew lifted up each fiberglass batt and blew insulation underneath, then laid the batts back down, and then blew more on top.  This is one of the major reasons why it took so long.  In terms of real energy savings, I compared my December gas bill to last year's and my usage went down 33% even though this December was colder.  I can also tell that my house seems to hold its temperature better.  I didn't price shop any of the recommendations but if you want a high quality job without any high sales pressure, then consider GreenID.

They called me to provide an energy audit. The audit itself was very good and they provided me with a report. I brought in two other companies to receive second opinions, and both of their estimates were literally half of what this company’s suggestions would cost. I obviously ended up not using their services further.

They were terrific! David is a responsible businessman and he was great to work with. I found his advice very helpful and I would absolutely recommend him! I will do business with them again when I need to replace my air conditioning system.

Mike arrived promptly at the scheduled appointment time.  He did an excellent job at inspecting the house for areas that were energy inefficient.  He was very thorough and explained each test he performed and answered all my questions (of which I had many).  He also gave me a number of energy saving tips.  Mike identified problems with my sliding glass doors and a few windows (the rubber seals had dried out and was allowing a significant amount of hot air into the house).  He also found an issue with the configuration of my AC unit and helped me troubleshoot the reason why some rooms were not being cooled evenly.  Mike spent over 6 hours performing the audit (we had originally thought it would take 3 hours, but he was incredibly thorough and took time to answer all my question and explain the results of his tests).
About 1 week after Mike came out to run the tests on the house, David came to my home to explain the results in great detail.  He also provided me with suggestions on ways to save energy.  It turns out that the previous owners of my home performed many energy-saving upgrades, so there wasn't much left to do.  I admire Green ID's integrity, they could have easily recommended unnecessary and costly work, but were honest in saying that the house was in good shape (from an energy perspective) and only recommended minor improvements.

I found this company at the Home and Garden Show in the Phoenix Stadium. I contracted them to do work two months after another company had performed the energy audit. They didn't bat an eye, and said they would take care of my project and they did a very good job.

Both jobs were completed very professionally and together have reduced the temperature in my AZ theater room by almost 10 degrees.

One of David's team members noticed a crack in the drywall near the attic access point and repaired it for no charge.I couldn't be happier with the service and price of Green ID's work in my home and I'm currently considering bringing them back to do additional work at my home.
