Andrew showed up within the time window & went right to work. He quickly found the problem, replaced the broken part, collected payment & left. He was fast, efficient & talkative. I like talkative. Since we didn't know what was wrong, there was no preliminary estimate. I forgot to ask for the Angie's List discount. I will remember next time.

When I called for service I was told it would be a few days because of heavy work volume, and I was fine with that, later that same day we were called and told the service could be provided later on that same afternoon and that was a pleasant surprise. I left the house for a while, and when I returned my husband said that our ice maker was now working because E&J service man was in the area and said he could come by and do our repair before his next call. What a joy to have such efficiency. I would have expected this kind of service in a smaller metropolitan area, but not in this very large metropolis. Personal service is always appreciated and I will definitely keep their magnet on my refrigerator. Thanks E&J

I set up an appointment time between 2 and 4 pm. Chris arrived at 3:00. He immediately took a look at the washer and determined that the transmission had gone out and that a repair would cost approximately $400. He recommended a new machine. While he was there, we had him take a look at our dishwasher, which had been leaking and out of commission for a while. He discovered that whoever installed it had completely changed the wiring, which was a potential fire hazard. He also found that the motor was cracked in two. Another new appliance recommendation. He referred us to the store in Mesa and told us to mention E & J to receive a discount. We researched several washers in consumer reports and online and called E & J. They carried the washer we were interested in and they gave us a sale price less $31.50 for mentioning E & J. We went ahead and purchased the washing machine. We are also going to purchase a dishwasher there, since we will get a great deal on it.

The repairman was on time and identified the problem almost immediately. He expressed a willingness to get the switch rather than order the part and set up another time for the repair. He called the parts store, located the switch, picked it up and then installed it. Did a good job on the repair. Cost seemed appropriate for the nature of the repair and I had been told when I called the there was a $49 service charge and that the first half hour of labor would be $40, so there was no surprise. I got the 10% discount on parts for Angie's List members. Was pleased with the service.

I called in the AM and had an afternoon appointment. He was on time. The service call took less than 30 minutes. He was professional and I felt comfortable having him in my home. He did take a phone call while here but kept it at a minimum since he was in the middle of the repair. That was very professional. He clearly knew what he was doing and I felt confident in his abilities. It did seem pricey to me.

Paul wrote up a bill, recommended a washer manufacture to buy from as a replacement. I had a hard time accepting a $90 fee, as fair, for the service rendered. End of story.

I ended up buying a new fridge because it was cheaper than the repair.

They were punctual and very pleasant, arriving just when they claimed they would. They took their time to troubleshoot the problem and then proceeded to fix it in a timely manner. The men were clean cut and pleasant and I was totally at ease with them.

They were very professional and I would highly recommend them to everyone. Their work was totally worth the amount of money I paid, which I felt was reasonable. They showed up on time, when they said they would, and always returned my calls.

The repair tech not only unplugged the drain tube, he taught me how to do it myself next time. Plus a free magnet and pot holder!

There were five repair facilities in my geographic area that were approved to make the repair, but the soonest available appointment was four days later. I remembered using E & J for previous repair work and asked the company who did the recalling if they were still an approved warranty and recall provider. When assured they were, I called E & J directly and received an appointment for the next day. Since our dishwasher was not available for use for the past 8 days, timing was a real issue. Not only was E & J responsive with quick service, but the quality of their work remains outstanding.

The cleaning did not fix the problem, so we bought a new unit.

When we called the lady answering the phone was most helpful and gave us three logical causes along with what would be involved with the fix and the approximate cost. By the way she was dead on and it turned out to be the least expensive, easiest fix. The service man was quick and efficient and explained just what he was doing and why it happened. We did have one issue after he left. Later in the evening when we opened the refigerator, the lower lights in both the refigerator and freezer (have a side-by-side) were out. Since it was rather late, we called the next morning and the service man returned within 2 hours to fix the problem. One of the wires had come loose in the back while he was fixing the water leak problem from the ice maker.

Overall the service and response time was excellent. I called E&J at 10:30am on the Friday before Memorial Day weekend and someone was at my door by 11:05am. Paul first needed to melt all the ice that had accumulated behind the freezer and then quickly determined the problem to be a cracked heater. He did not have the part on his truck but called into the office to locate where he could pick it up. Paul returned less than an hour later with the part and repaired my refrigerator. Had it been any day but Friday, Paul shared that I could have save a bit of money on labor by defrosting the fridge myself and he would make a second visit to fix the problem - with no extra service call charge. Paul was very courtesy and really knows appliances. He even gave me a few tips to help extend the life of not only my fridge but also my washing machine. I would call E&J again in a heartbeat.

This was a wonderful experience! I called in the morning and spoke with the owner, Alan Johnson who was very nice. He quoted me am $89 fee to come to the house (included trip fee + and 1/2 hour of work). All parts and labor beyond the first 1/2 hour were extra, but they let you know where you stood throughout. Alan worked us in for service on the same day for both appliances that needed repair. The serviceman, Alan Campbell, showed up on time (within the very reasonable two-hour window) and promptly and professionally completed both repairs. Very courteous gentleman! He worked continuously and seemed very productive. They discounted the parts with the 10% Angie's list coupon. This was our first Angie's list selection, and it went so well! I have placed this company on my "happy" list and already mentioned them to both a neighbor and my folks!

When I called they clearly stated their charges for a half hour service call, $90, and stated that most repairs can be done within that time. They had the part available on their service truck, were on time, courteous, and presented a very professional image. I chose them because of their #1 rating on the List and was not disappointed. I would recommend them for others and not hesitate to use them again.

Ernie and another tech came out to my house on time. They were very professional and worked quickly. While they were there I also asked about my sink disposal, which was not working. Ernie was able to get the disposal working with a wrench he had on hand. He then gave me the wrench to keep, which I did not expect. Overall the service level was excellent. I did have to call again as the washer was making a noise, but they did come out to check it the next day (Saturday).

The owner of the company ("E") was the one making the call. He was very personable, professional, and clearly knew what he was doing. I was just impressed about how quickly they responded and how knowledgeable and helpful he was, and I like to support small businesses.

I called E & J Monday morning around 10 am to see if they could get someone out that same day (Yeah, I know this was a longshot, but my refrigerator was dying and my food was going bad!). The woman said it wasn't likely, but if there were any way they could, they would. I got a call about 1:15 PM saying they were in the area and could stop by in about 10 minutes! Ernie showed up and did a few tests and confirmed that it was not something as simple as the relay going bad - it was the compressor that died. This was understandable when he pointed out that this refrigerator (that we got with our house) was made in 1981! He said the cost for a compressor for a refrigerator that old wasn't worth it and even gave me some suggestions about who to see for a quick delivery of a new refrigerator. He said to mention his name to the store mgr and needless to say, 3 hours later I purchased a new refrigerator to be delivered Tuesday! The mgr took some cash off too since I mentioned Ernie's name.

The job went terrific. The dispatcher diagnosed the problem over the phone and wanted to make sure they had the part prior to sending out a technician. He told me he would make sure and call back, which he did. Every interaction with this company was very professional.

I called to ask they to come look at dishwasher. It took a week because one of their guys was out sick. They came on time and diagnosed problem. They told me to try Sears, the dishwasher may be under warranty. I appreciated that honest advice. Sears gave me a run around about warranty but I scheduled a Sears repairman anyway. Sears didn't show up, called later to say they overbooked. I told sears to forget it and called E & J HOME SERVICES back. They had to order a pump, then took another week to get here because of sick guy still I guess. But they came as scheduled & fixed it.

They were outstanding. It was a complicated problem involving several visits. They were extremely honest, to the point of immediately refunding money for some unneeded repairs. I would have these folks repair appliances in my home in a heartbeat. You get what you pay for and while they are not inexpensive, they are courteous, punctual, friendly and honest.

technician was competent & pleasant. He was scheduled to arrive within a 2-hr window (better than morning or afternoon). He called about 30 minutes into this time & let me know that he'd arrive in 10-15 min. which he did. he diagnosed & then fixed the problem in under 15 min.

E & J Repairman told us the F7 error code could mean several things, and a process of elimination must be used to determine the exact cause. (At $90 each visit!) Cleaned a cable connection. Stove worked for approximately one hour before error code reappeared. We then called GE directly. Their repairman came and said F7 means only ONE thing...bad touch pad. The part was ordered and installed, and the stove has worked even since. We were NOT impressed with E & J!!

Efficient but expensive. The dryer ended up being the circuit breaker box (my husband SAID he checked that). There wasn't any attempt to use that to sell us unneeded repairs. He checked over the washer while he was there. Since we had to pay for a service call, we had him repair the ice-maker. $50 service call fee, $40 labor, and $114 for ice-maker part.
