They were able to send a repairman out the next day, which I give them huge kudos for. The repairman was on time. The leak was repaired in 20 minutes. The only complaint I have is for the excessive cost. They were upfront with me on the $79 charge to just show up, but to pay another $66 for 20 minutes of work with no parts, for a total of $145, I feel was very expensive. My house is 5 minutes from their store.

They are in business for like 50 years or something, he said. The experience was excellent. They were knowledgeable, friendly, and tidy.

I originally asked a question on Angie's List to E & J. Alan promptly responded and gave me options. I called him and he suggested that I have my refrigerator looked at. They were able to come out the next day and diagnosed the problem, ordered the part and was installed the day after. Brad was very personable and professional. He explained everything that he had to do. The overall service was wonderful and I would highly recommend this company to my friends and family. We had what looked like frozen Niagara Falls in the freezer side of our refrigerator/freezer. After cleaning the mess, I found E&J's on Angie's list. They were close to my home and had good reviews so I decided to give them a try. I called and was given an appointment time for that very morning, which pleased me very much. The repairman arrived on time and was very professional - turns out he was one of the owners. He diagnosed the problem quickly and replaced the ice maker in a minimum amount of time. I was very pleased and will definitely recommend E&J's to family and friends.

I called to see if they are cabable of working an a specialty refrigerated cooling unit for a salt water aquarium. The woman who ansered was extremly helpful (Not that she knew about saltwater aquarium chillers) but she was familiar with the parts associated and was able to help me make an informed decision about purchasing a used aquarium chiller that (per the craigslist ad) "needed a freon recharge". She basically informed me that a refrigeration unit is a "sealed" system and if it needs a charge that there is no way to know how long the charge may last. She also informed me that these units are desinged to be running all the time (the unit I was considering had been sitting for 4 years) She told me that these systems have seals similar to a refrigerator that can dry out over a short period of non-use. Basically she informed me that a lot of people who buy used refrigeration equipment online end up either having a piece of junk on thier hands, or spending hundereds of dollars to repair the sealed system. I felt that this information would be useful to anyone considering buying a used refrigerated appliance (Refrigerator, Freezer, wine Chiller etc.) I am very pleased that the woman took the time to help me and I would definalty call them again if I need appliance repair (Hopefully not though)

My first call to Angie's list and I feel greatly rewarded. Ernie came, diagnosed the problem and fixed it promptly. He gave me tips on using my Maytag Neptune washer.I will most definitely use their service again.

The best $79.00 I have spent on service. Ernie evaluated our situation and gave us good solid advice as to what to do with our refrigerator despite the fact he lost money on on replacing parts. Thank you E&J.

Based on the strong Angie reviews, I contacted E&J Appliance Service Co. on 5/15/12 via an email message. I received a same day phone call and scheduled an appointment for the next day. I was under the impression that E&J worked their schedule to fit me in the next day. Mr. Johnson, owner and technician, performed the repair. He informed me that he has thirty years of experience and that his company is family owned and operated. He was extremely polite and had foot coverings when I greeted him at the door. Needless to say, I found that to be quite impressive. Mr. Johnson was able to quickly determine the cause of my dryer problem (crushed venting hosing). He also looked at other parts of the dryer to be sure that there were not other potential issues. He provided me advice on how to maintain my dryer and answered some general questions I had. There was never any attempt to upsell any additional services or to create an issue that wasn't there. Overall, I was quite impressed with E&J in that they promptly responded to my request for service and was able to schedule a visit next day; Mr. Johnson was so professional and friendly as well. I would definitely call on them again.

Ernie did an outstanding job sleuthing what was wrong with our 10-year old Maytag refrigerator. Turned out it had a few unique problems but he would not quit until he'd figured them out. Jim and Jill Kavanagh

Love that they open at 7:30 a.m. I'm betting they get a nice jump to morning service calls. Alan answered right away and scheduled me for a same-day work order. I know that probably doesn't happen the majority of the time, but I felt so relieved he could get Brad to come out. My scheduled time was between 3 and 5 and Brad was here at 3:15. He was courteous and helpful. He could have made me feel stupid about what I called him here to fix, but he walked me through and reassured me it was better to call when unsure than to try to fix it yourself! He honored the $10 off code as well. We will be using E & J Appliance Service again the next time a problem comes up and we'll be sure to let anyone we know to do the same! (We are in NE Mesa.)

Excellent experience. Couldn't have been more pleasant or professional. Gave some good tips on keeping vent clean.

My washer stopped working in the middle of a cycle and was making a humming sound. When he arrived he was very professional/friendly asked me to explain what happened and I told him. He proceeded to move the washer, remove the back cover. He asked if he could drain the washer before he proceeded. Looked at the pump; removed it and cleared it out. Found a wire in there. Put everything back together and started the washer and it worked perfectly.

I needed them to unclog the hot water pipeline to the washer. I've used them before some time ago, and would absolutely use them again. A good experience, nice work and quality, and a great value!

They had it fixed the same day and at a fair price.

Ernie, from E & J Appliance, came out and checked the Maytag range and determined that the clock/panel needed to be replaced. He ordered the part and within a few days came out and replaced it. From start to finish, I was very pleased with their professional service and would not hesitate calling them again to do any type of appliance repair.

It went well. Had it running in 1 hour and excepted the 15% off coupon.

Brad, the technician, called to let me know he would be arriving about 30 minutes before my scheduled window. He quickly diagnosed the problem with the refrigerator, and quoted me a price to replace the board. The price of the part was approximately $165. He also told me that the problem with the dishwasher was that the pump motor was going. He said it would be an expensive repair (parts and labor), and that since the dishwasher was performing properly, his recommendation was to let it go until it gave out and then purchase a new one. I was very appreciative of that honest advice.Brad was pleasant, funny and got right to work. Although we chatted during the process, he kept working and got the job done quickly. I did think that the base price, $104 for the service call (first 30 minutes) was a bit steep, particularly since I did not see it quoted that high on any of the other Angie's List reviews. Overall. I would rate E & J a solid "A", and would recommend them without hesitation.

The $98.50 fee covers diagnostic with up to 30 minutes of labor. I had no problem using the Angie's List 15% off coupon. I received a payment invoice via e-mail. I appreciate that they are not wasting paper unless the client requests a printout.

The technician's forecast turned out to be incorrect. One week after the repair, the problem returned. The company sent a second technician, who repeated the process and installed a piece of copper wire which presumably will raise the temperature enough to prevent further freezing. In fact, I had no more leakage after this second repair. The company responded very promptly when I called to inform them that the first repair had not worked, and they did the second and final repair completely free of charge.

Overall they were professional and fast.

Brad came out to look at my fridge and quickly determine the issue. The replacement part was fairly expensive (far more than I was expecting) and I asked how much a new fridge cost. Brad went out of his way to call another company to determine how much a new one would cost. It turned out a new fridge (that would fit right) was a lot more than repairing this one so I went ahead and had Brad order the parts. I scheduled another appointment for the replacement and they came out a couple days later. This time Ernie and Brad worked on it. They took about an hour for the replacement and identified another part that was going bad (fortunately a pretty cheap one). We scheduled another day (2 days later) for the replacement of the new part. Brad came out again for the final part replacement and quickly got it in and working. They did not charge me any extra labor for the second part so I was very happy with that. The overall price was high but I don't believe that was their fault. This fridge model is just expensive. They came out 3 times and each time, they were on time and called me before to let me know they are on the way. They were able to come out the next day each time but I pushed it out a little because of my schedule.

Very well. Arrived as promised, changed the connectors on the wires and fitted the new controller (without mocking my own amateur attempts at repair :-) !). The oven, broiler and timer now work fine. We are very happy.
