Description of Work: Demolition, repair and install new landscape walls.

Description of Work: Called late on Friday 3/16 and was surprised to have someone answer the phone. I'm assuming it was the owner, Tom Smith. I explained that we had a 5 acre horse property and that it needed some "curb appeal". I further explained that I wanted to do the work in phases. The 1st phase would be the front of the house, the 2nd phase would be the pool area, and the 3rd phase would be the balance of the backyard. The individual informed me that any landscaping project they do had to cost at least $3,500, so that if I wanted to do 3 phases, I would pay $3,500 for each phase, whether or not it actually cost that much! Thought this was a bit "huffy", but suggested if a phase was under his $3,500 limit he let me know so that we might be able to roll somthing else into that phase so that it was at least $3,500. He promised to have someone call me on March 19th. You guessed it, NO ONE EVER CALLED.....guess we were small potatoes to him. The other landscapers we called estimated Phase I at over $7,400, well over Desert Design's $3,500 minimum! Don't know how this company got a Service Award from Angie's!

Description of Work: trimmed palo verde and mesquite trees. Did a good job trimming and shaping-proper cuts for tree growth and getting rid of redundant branches. Like many Tempe garden services, he doesn't seem to be aware that it is Tempe law that landscapers haul away the debris they create. Landscape maintenance: Here a few quibbles. I'm charged (when he gets around to it) nearly double when they "trim". The last time they trimmed, they took an hour and five minutes--so there is no commensurability between time spent and cost. He has also failed to deliver a bill now for nearly 7 months despite my repeated requests. I am keeping track of the actual time his crew is here, because the failure to bill on time is going to lead to conflict down the road. How does he compare to others? Better than most, but inattentive once he has your business.
