Service technician showed up on time and was very professional. Did an excellent overall job - definitely improved door performance - much quieter and prevented future breakdown by discovering and repairing cracked bracket.

We called them at 5pm on a Friday night, and a technician returned our call within thirty minutes. A receptionist let us know that they normally don’t have Saturday hours, but our technician was more than happy to accommodate a Saturday appointment. We scheduled for 8am, and he arrived early. He was very nice, thorough, and knowledgeable. I think Cookson Door has excellent customer service and professional. Also, I think the price they charged was reasonable.

We called and they responded immediately, came by to look at the job, and then told us since our unit was 20 years old, it could be repaired any more. He gave us options for replacing the garage door opener, and did not try to sell us the more expensive one, although we chose that one in the end because it wasn't much more and the belt assembly seemed to us to be better. I appreciated that he did not pressure us to buy the most expensive option. He came out the next day with the replacement and installed it quickly. We liked him, he was professional, and we will use them again if we need garage door assistance.

The first time I called for an appointment I was transferred to scheduling and waited on hold long enough to get impatient and hang up. Called again a few weeks later and was only on hold with scheduling for a short time. Was able to get an appt for the next day. The tech called on his way over, arrived on time, and did great work. I used the Angie's list coupon to save $25 with no problem. Very happy with the experience and would recommend/use again.

Made the call at 7am this morning informing them that my garage door spring had busted and I couldn't get out. Within 5 min they called back to inform me that a tech would be there at 10am. Service tech showed up on time, quickly diagnosed the problem, presented me with the cost and off we went. Had it done in less then an hour and a cheaper rate then I would have initially thought. He was very friendly and kind. Was a very refreshing experience. I sincerely hope the company gives this tech a bonus as you could tell that he wanted the customer to feel at ease with everything.

Tech was pleasant, professional, and on time. Diagnosed and repaired both door issues promptly. Repair bill was much less than I expected.

They accommodated our tight scheduled and arrived on time ready to do the work. They finished quickly and did an excellent job, even pausing to give me tips on maintaining the doors properly.

Tech was professional, on time, called before arrival and answered all questions with good knowledge of his profession. Appreciated his viewpoint of "must do" service vs. not trying to upsell on unneeded services. As part of service tech lubricated all needed parts and rechecked work and calibration before departure. Interestingly, wife called once she got to work and shared her broken garage door story with co-workers. One co-worker reccommended a "good company to work with"...you guessed it, it was "Cookson". It was fantastic service, response and professionalism. This included the office staff who kept in touch with me during the day to reassure me help was on the way and that it would get done no matter how long it took that day.

We came home Sunday evening and finding our garage door would not open I left a message with a different company Sunday evening. After they failed to return my call Monday I called Cookson at 9:30am and they had a serviceman at my house by 2:30, not bad for such a short notice. The tech was very professional and helpful, he explained everything in detail and gave me a number of options. I will be using them again,

I left a message on their answer machine on a Sunday. They called back first thing Monday morning. They came out that afternoon to assess the situation and broke the bad news that I needed a new opener. They contacted the original manufacturer to see how much the parts would cost to repair it. Cookson provided a price to repair and to replace. In the end, they replaced the unit. They were professional and timely in all of their communications. I would recommend them to anyone with garage door needs.

It was a superb experience. Spring broke in early evening. Called first thing the next morning and by the time i was home from work the door was fixed. When i came home, although door was fixed it did not close completely - left about 1/2 inch opening on bottom. Called and they came right back out and got it all the way down. Response was fantastic.

I called Cookson to assess my garage door as it strained to lift. The appt was set for Tues with a 3 hr window and a 30 minute notice to me so I could leave work to get home. They called with a 20 minute notice and when the tech arrived he didn't have the right size springs to do the job. A second appt had to be set and since their advertised hours of operation are 0700-5PM, I requested an 0700 appt so I would only be late to work a couple hrs. They finally called Thurs afternoon with a Fri AM 0700 appt. At 0715 on the appt day, I called their shop and rec'd the phone message that the office is closed and their hours are 0700-5PM! I called again at 0730 and Bob tells me they're trying to find my paperwork. The tech Mike calls at 0730 and states he is on his way. He said he went to the shop and found he had my 0700 appt but he had not been told. The tech arrived at 0750; I had been waiting an hr. As I missed work Tues afternoon and Fri AM. I got some timid apologies and most disappointing of all, I was still charged full price. They didn't offer a 5% or 10% discount for poor customer service. They didn't care I missed work all those hrs. They only provide Saturday appts if you pay a premium for 'after hours' work. I chose this company from Angie's List. The company website touts Angies' List Service Award and BBB, however, they lack customer service, they lack internal communication and scheduling know-how AND they don't know how to make things right. I was told by Bob that the Manager would call me. He has not.

After a somewhat rocky start with the scheduling department, Cookson Door was very responsive. I had called the previous afternoon to set up an appointment, gave all the information, and was told I would be called back with an appointment time. When I hadn't heard anything by closing time, I left a message on their answering system asking to be contacted the following morning. I was called early the next day and, while I had to give all information over again, I was assured that I would be put on the schedule. The tech arrived within an hour. I had asked for a repair rather than a replacement, expecting that I would probably be pressured into purchasing a new door. There was no pressure to replace the door. The tech evaluated the condition of my door and said that, while he would recommend eventually replacing the two cracked panels, he could repair it. He did show me that one of the cables was frayed and strongly recommended replacing it; I had both cables replaced, which increased the original estimate by about $15, and pointed out that the cables that were on the door didn't match, with one a smaller gauge than the other. When the work was done, the door rose and descended smoothly, with none of the wake-the-dead screeching noise it had been making. The tech was courteous and cheerful and also helped me reprogram a keyless entry device, even calling the office to get instructions for my particular unit. Other than the minor scheduling glitch, my experience with this company was very positive and when I am ready to replace the door panels, I will very likely use them, as the ballpark estimate I received was also very reasonable.

They went out of their way to meet our time commitment. We were actually in Phoenix for just a week; it is a kind of vacation home that we have. So their ability to show up on time on a specific date was very important to us and they did show up on time. They did the job very quickly and met our estimate.

They were professional, polite, and punctual. The technician forgot two parts, but came back out to replace them.

So Mike Rottmann was great on the phone.. I called them.. and the replaced it that week.. however they replaced it with a WHITE door.. even though I had asked them for the closest color matching the house.. in this case desert tan.. my HOA was ok with the desert tan.. I started getting notices from my HOA and now have some pending fines because of this.. when I asked them to fix it.. Mike went to his manager who came back with a 150.00 fee to replace the door with desert tan.. talk about screwed up! I would not repeat business from these guys.. I may pursue this with the BBB but the biggest problem is i did everything over the phone.. and did not get a quote in writing. These guys had such great reviews on angies list that i was lazy about getting the quote in writing.. this is my bad. They seem to be a legitimate business with a long standing reputation.. If I were evaluating these guys I would.. get everything in writing first (i know, i know, basics).. and I would factor in the risk of them not standing behind their work when comparing to other vendors (in my case).

They had a quick response time. They came out the first visit to just a**** the problem and were very courteous to my wife. There was no charge for the first visit. When we called to let them know the choice for our garage door opener, they came out the next day and installed it.

The installer arrived on time and did the job quickly and thoroughly. The old opener was completely removed and carried away. He showed us how to program and use the new outside number pad opener along with how to use the added features on the up-to-date opener. There was NO waste or dirt left behind!

Smooth as silk. Called ahead and arrived as promised. Did all the work int he allotted time and even offered to reprogram my car Homelink buttons for the new opener.

I have an old 20' one-piece garage door. I came home one day and when opening the garage door the long arm attachment bent in half. Called Cookson Door 9/18. Mike Rottmann came out the next day and replaced the arms and springs and oiled the door. Explained everything and was excellent to work with. After a few days I was having trouble opening the door and had to continue to adjust the pressures. Called Cookson Door and they sent a man out to fix it. The next day Mike Dykman came and replaced the logic board in the garage door opener as it was functioning only sporatically. That is why they did not discover it on the first visit. They only charged me labor for the first visit. I was pleased with all the work and the promptness in coming. I recommend them highly.

They did a good job. I had no problems with them, and they were very pleasant. They were able to get there relatively soon, which was necessary because the car was stuck in the garage. They did the job for a reasonable price, and it is still working well.

They did a great job. They were very professional and reasonably priced. They fixed the problem. They didn?t have a spring when they came out, but that is not unusual. They came the next day with the spring and completed the job.
