B & B Pools

I understand the review is quite long, so I will give a brief summary of the review. Extremely poor customer service, and as a repeat customer I will never use B & B again. Future customers beware. First let's talk about the positives: I had a new pump installed for my pool this week because the old one was not running well. The process was straight-forward, the technician came on time, wore a mask and was friendly. The process took about 1 hour to complete, and he showed me how to use the pump before leaving. Over all no complaints about the new pump. Now let's talk about why this is a one-star review: I have a Pentair IntelliChlor system for my in-ground pool, and the electricity was routed through the pump originally. I don't know why it was set up that way when we bought the house, but perhaps to allow the salt cell to be on only when the pump was on, in order to protect the salt cell. The technician must not have been familiar with the setup and did not hook up the wires for the Intellichlor through the pump after he was finished installing the new pump. I was busy that day and didn't pay attention to my salt system before the technician left. A couple of days later I noticed my salt system was not turning on any more. I called B & B asking someone to come out to take a look at the system. I got a straight no from B & B, stating the Intellichlor system has nothing to do with the pump and therefore they would not help me. I bought the IntelliChlor system from B & B 3 years ago, so I wonder why they tried to push away all responsibility; clearly they knew how it worked 3 years ago. I politely asked someone to come out to take a look because I know the Intellichlor system is related to the pump in my pool. B & B agreed but said it would be a regular service visit and it would cost me $95 or more, and they probably couldn't fix it anyway. I was very frustrated because I just paid $1200 for B & B to install a pump 2 days ago, and they wouldn't even consider taking a look make sure everything was hooked up properly. I ended up spending a day trouble-shooting myself, figured out what was wrong, rewired the system, and everything worked again.

#1 - Specialist left a mess behind, and filters never ran properly again. #2 - B & B would not take responsibility, and could not return for at least another week to diagnose or repair. #3 - Customer service over the telephone was quite rude.

The service was excellent. They are on time and call ahead to confirm appointments. I have used them for 20 plus years.

I have been a customer of this company for many years, have left past reviews on them, and am still very satisfied with them. They are very professional and always knowledgeable about the products they offer.

Very easy to deal with. Price for heater was included with installation and tax. No surprises on price. Total cost was as quoted. I have used B & B several times over the years for repairs and have been impressed with their knowledge and customer service. In one case as opposed to selling me a new pump motor they explained the option of rebuilding the pump and the cost and "life" of the rebuilt pump as opposed to buying a new one. Their in store staff are also very knowledgeable and helpful.

I had a leaky push pull valve on my filtration system (the one that changes the water flow to backwash vs. return). I called B&B to check on parts and they told me I probably just needed a new o-ring. I told them that the plastic on the valve itself was starting to fail and they said they would need to send somebody out. They didn't have anybody available that week so they told me they could get someone out on Monday. The guy called at about 9pm on Sunday to schedule the service. I asked about cost and he said they gave free estimates, what he failed to mention is that there is a $75 service fee just for showing up. The fix itself only took about five minutes but the guy was in no mood to answer my questions and he just wanted to get out of there. If I am paying a ridiculous service fee for someone to come out the least they could do is answer my questions. I've always had a good experience buying chemicals from this company but their service side is questionable. I would rather deal with an all around good company and therefore I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Had pool sweep tune up. New bearings etc. installed. Pool sweep works better now.

They did a very professional job and came back to check on it a couple of days later. I was very impressed by the quality of work and their quick response to my problems.

I was having pressure problems and couldn't find the problem. Realized I might have some broken panels in my de filter when my water got cloudy. Kenny came out and took care of it. I am extremely satisfied with B and B Pools and I think you will be too!

They did not carry part or able to order.

Not very well organized or very professional.

After I installed the rebuilt pump motor, it ran fine for about 30 minutes, then it stopped. I took the pump back, and the service guy said it appeared to have been a problem with the rebuild. (I have had this company rebuild the motor 2 years ago when it was leaking, ran OK after that) The owner was there and said "We will give you a new replacement motor". I was so pleasantly surprised! Of course, they could have told me that my motor failed as a result of my negligence, or simply old age, but they stand behind their work. I have told all my friends to be sure to use the honest people at B & B for any pool or spa needs! They have my business for sure!

Love them. I use them all the time, and so should you.

We moved into this home in Dec-2010 and one of the pool lights was not working. Early in 2012, the good light burned out and had a pool company (this was not B&B) come out to take a look at it. This "other company" came out several times, one of those times they sent a guy from a different pool company and he came across as one of those guys who knows it all. Anyways, the know it all guy says that both lights in my pool are filled with water and that the fixtures are shot and will need replacing. I asked for a quote to replace one with a Colorsplash LED light and the other with just a regular incandescent. The quote he gave me was about $900! Told him that it seemed kind of pricey and that I would need to get more quotes and think about. I called a couple of other places and they were about the same price. The last place I called was B&B pools. B&B's quote was several hundred dollars lower than the others so I decided to have them come out and take a look. This was around April/May 2012 and the guy they sent out said that he would need to pull the lights out to see but that the water was too cold to get in so we would need to drain the pool a bit or wait until the water warmed up. I procrastinated on this and had them come out in early August and they sent a different tech. He took a look at the fixtures and said that all they needed were new bulbs. This saved me a couple hundred dollars over and above the original quote they gave me. Also, my lights had blue lens covers and the Colorsplash needed a clear lens cover. The tech had an extra one with him so he switched it out at no additional charge. Needless to say I was a very satisfied customer by saving about $400 from the original quote I got from a competitor. Lastly, the B&B guys are a pleasure to deal with and I was able to take care of all this via email and telephone. I highly recommend B&B Pools!

I've used them for the last 14yrs. They've always been very helpful in maintaining my pool. I've purchased many things there in the past. Their prices are competitive with everyone else, someones even a little cheaper.

The product is from www.thepoolcleaner.com and it is an awesome product! It holds up very well. The cleaner is about the same price as another less reliable one but will last a lot longer!

I was told by their salesperson that there was a new law in Arizona that required a variable speed motor. These motors are about 700.00 more than I would have spent to replace the existing one. I recently found out that this law is going to legislation in 2013, it's not law yet. I was mislead. I am working with a new company who is compiling a list of vendors who are using this as a sales pitch. Be careful about the info one gives regarding variable speed motors. They are expensive and not required at this time and probably be passed into law.

Went great. I took a picture on my phone to show them the old installation. They identified it, recommended a replacement and gave me a quote on parts and labor. Their tech called that evening, as promised, and set a time for the following day. The following day he arrived precisely on schedule, went to work and completed the whole removal and re-installation process in a little over an hour. Cleaned up the site pretty good and went on his way. System seems to work fine, no leaks, no problem with back-wash.

The technicians at their store were helpful, knowledgeable, and more importantly.... quick to respond to my requests for help with a pump motor rebuild.

They are the best in the valley. They are very helpful. They tell you how to do what you need to do to take care of your equipment. They have all of the right products and give suggestions for problems. They also have excellent prices. If you need a product repair, they charge reasonable prices and fix the item the first time. They really know what they're doing and care about their customers.

They are excellent on everything. Their pricing was reasonable. They were probably the first people in business here and have been in business for 35 years and they are well known.

My pump was not creating very much pressure. I was ready to hear that we'd need to replace the entire pump mechanism, but a thorough service showed it only to be a gasket. I was impressed with how professionally my repair was accomplished.

The experience with them went pretty good I guess and they did a good job. They are good. They had the best price and that's why we went with them. They were pretty fast and were here when they were supposed to. I would probably use their service in future.

It was great. They came the same day, were polite, and completed the work very quickly without charging me an exorbitant amount of money like the first service provider would have done.

I was (pleasantly) surprised that Kenny, the B&B technician, was available within 72 hours of my visit to the store. I expected more of a delay, given the busy summer season for the pool store. Kenny has worked on our pool before, and he always gets the job done that is needed. In this case, he took out the offending motor and had it replaced by day's end. So from the time of visiting the store to the time that the problem was fixed, it took three days. I thought that was quite good.
