Appliance Depot

A Channel 12 volunteer got Appliance Depot's owner Bruce Love to send them a cashier's check which they agreed to send to me when he confirmed the complaints were removed. I finally got my check May 16th, twelve weeks from when I first bought the inoperable stove! Lessons learned: 1. Never buy anything from Appliance Depot!! 2. Always use credit card for purchases so you can dispute the charge; and 3. always check the BBB website for the business's rating - Appliance Depot has a much deserved "F" rating.

I purchased appliances, I looked them over before purchasing. Owner has the worst customer service ever, when we arrived to pick up the appliances, they were damaged , all the owner would say was....I will give you a refund of all your money......I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

It is really unkept, filthy, and unsafe. I would not let children go in there. It was very unorganized, and some of the refrigerators smelled so bad that we had to close the door immediately. Needless to say, we did not purchase a refrigerator.

We were told that many refrigerators were new but returned due to scratches/dents. When we asked the girl in charge how she knows the story on each individual fridge, she stated "I do all the intake and numbering of all the appliances and I do it all the time so i remember." Also stated "This particular buyer only buys new appliances." When we asked how the refrigerators could be new when they contained mold/mildew, food debris, and/or the white had faded to yellow she changed her definition of new to something that was less than a year old. However my personal experience is that it takes years for the white yellow. She also stated that "the cleaning supplies they use on every fridge can smell if the guys done leave them open to air out enough." Maybe, but cleaning supplies smell like chemicals, not mold. A new fridge will have a nice new plastic smell, not mildew. Appliance Depot only post prices on a few items forcing you to ask about the price which allows them to modify the price according to what they think they can get. When we pointed the discrepancy out the individual shrugged and stated $1600 - $1700 there's no difference. What?? That's an extra $100! When I asked the (red-headed) girl in charge if they were flexible on price she stated yes. Tip: download a free price checker app like redlaser on your smart phone and use it to help negotiate. Appliance Depot also removes the serial number from appliances so that the customer can not call the manufacturer to obtain the year the appliance was manufactured (or easily obtain parts). Appliance Depot told us that "The manufacturer rips them off because the warranty is voided when it's returned". However, I called one manufacturer and was told that they have no reason to remove the serial number because they know everything about the appliance based on the serial number. We ended up not buying from them because they are not trustworthy. We will buy from a scratch-and-dent store where the prices are comparable and appliance are new, not a used appliance store.
