What impressed me about Shaughnessy Roofing Division Company was their pricing. I had compared prices and theirs were the lowest. After the installation of the roof, there was a problem during a storm that we had and I called them about it. They promptly came out and took care of it. I was impressed with that. They really did a good job. The workers were really friendly. The quality of their install was really good. It has rained a lot since they installed the roof; however there has not been a single problem. They were very punctual. They came every day and they came early. They were very professional. I would use them again in the future if required.
Description of Work: Shaughnessy Roofing Division installed a new roof for us in November of 2010. The work was covered by our insurance.

This entire roofing job was a bad experience for me from start to finish. Mike Lee (person working for Shaughnessy) did not supervise his tear off crew and they caused much extra damage to items on my roof. They broke two fixed skylight glass domes, knocked my outdoor A/C duct vent off from its base at the roof line and in my attic. They also damaged two turbine vents and other protrusions. When I confronted Mr. Lee about the damages he denied that the crew did it and said a golf ball (I live on a golf course) broke the skylights and the others had been damaged before. I demanded that he fix the damaged items and he did, but all were done in a shoddy way and afterwards most items that he fixed leaked heavily causing more damage inside my home. Mr. Lee installed the new asphalt shingles in a way that was not per manufacturer’s specifications and in addition to that did not replace the torch-down flat roof that he said he would do in his (Shaughnessy) contract; he instead coated it. As a result of this “new roof” installed by Mike Lee, this roof has leaked in 18 different places at various times after installation and caused much more damage to my home on the inside. At first Mike Lee did come out and try to fix the leaks and the roof so that it didn’t leak but it was amateurish and looked jerry-rigged. As time went on and the leaks got worse, he did not respond to my phone calls and so I filed a complaint. When I filed the complaint with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, Jeff Shaughnessy of Shaughnessy Contracting tried to get away with this and lied about Mike Lee and all the damages. He almost got away with this too because he is very good at mis-stating the truth. In the end Shaughnessy was ordered to have my roof replaced and have the damages fixed but this has been, like I said, a nightmare for me and he really did try to get away with the wrong doing. It has been my experience that this is a terrible contractor and I would not use him again for anything! Update: April 14, 2011 I just wanted to add that, after almost two years of leaks and water coming into my home, I now have been able to have another roofer replace Shaughnessy's roof and there is a world of difference. I will submit another report for this new roofer but it is so nice not to be in my kitchen and have to listen to creaking, cracking and deal with bugs coming in through the gaps around the fixed skylight. No leaks and, with the new roofer, it was so nice to deal with a professional who was courteous and respectful. For me this is just another affirmation that Shaughnessy Contracting, Inc. was completely incompetent and unprofessional.
Description of Work: Roof replacement: Remove old roof (there were two), haul away dubris and replace with new asphalt shingles and a new torch-down flat roof covering part of my home. The work was to be done by Mike Lee, who presented himself to me as a sub-contractor working for Shaughnessy Contracting, Inc. (I had hail damage and my roof needed replacement. Mike Lee helped me get my insurance company to replace my entire roof and then promised to do the work for the same amount that my insurance paid to me.)
