Energy Master

This is the first time a used an Angie list provider. I placed a call to this provider, who had a message that he would call back in 15 minutes. I never had my call returned

I would not recommend this service provider. First time made appointment. Took off work 2 hours to meet him. He emailed 15 minutes before appointment time that he was in Baltimore for a family emergency and could not make it. I rearranged appointment for yesterday morning. Went into work over 1 hour late when he did not show up at the arranged time.

It went wonderfully. Wish I could give you more "details". Glenn came on time, did the PM work and then agreed to install the 2 thermostats that I had recently purchased. In the meantime, these two vets shared "war stories" from way back when. Job done---on time; job done--- with complete professionalism. If I ever need HVAC or water heater installed, I'd call on Glenn without any hesitation.

I signed up on line for an Angie's List "Good Deal" and contacted Glenn of Energy Master to schedule a date for the installation. Because of the heat of the summer, Glenn asked to schedule for an early morning time, which was fine by me. I had an additional complication, as I had scheduled ankle surgery for shortly after I signed up for the Deal, but Glenn was very accomodating of my schedule, and we set a date for when I was able to be mobile enough to monitor the installation. Glenn arrived on time, explained the installation process, and was done faster than I anticipated. He was efficient and cleaned up after himself properly. I asked him a variety of questions on other energy efficiency ideas for my home and he was very willing to take the time to educate me on options for improving energy efficiency. He impressed me with his knowledge and professionalism and I would not hesitate to use him again. (I asked and he will be providing me an estimate for some additional work on my home.)

The serviceman came out and installed my solar attic fan in abut 45 minutes and I am pleased with the placement and efficiency of his work. The only hiccup with this provider is that we had to re-schedule couple of times because of his work schedule and he did not have the fan in stock when I purchased the deal. Once he had the fan in stock he called and came out and installed with very good service.

On Thursday the 1st of August, I was at home from 8am awaiting installation. By 9:45am, I'd seen no one and heard nothing from anyone at Energy Master, so I decided I would contact them. I called the telephone number provided and reached an answering machine. Their message apologized for not being able to take the call personally, but promised to return the call within 15 minutes. They would also provide a $25 discount on service performed, due to the "inconvenience." By 4:45pm that same day, I'd still had no response whatsoever from Energy Masters, so I sent a follow-up query via email. To date (August 5th) there has been no response or follow-up whatsoever to me from Energy Masters. I have since requested that Angie's List refund my purchase, which doesn't seem like it will be a problem. A surprising and disappointing lack of follow-through and professionalism on the part of Energy Masters, to say the least! Aside from causing me to waste my time for an installation that never occurred, but also to not respond to either a voice mail or an email? I would certainly never contract with them again, or recommend them for any service in the future.

First off, we scheduled for Wednesday the 24th of July. He then contacted us saying he had other appointments on the other side of the valley that day, even after making that appointment. So we scheduled for Friday the 26th. He cancelled that appointment for fear of rain. OK, I get that since he would have been on the roof, although it was only cloudy and had no signs of rain. So we rescheduled for the next Wednesday the 31st for the first thing AM. We were here and waiting all morning. He never showed. We called repeatedly and he would not pick up. I emailed repeatedly and he will not respond. We called again the next day. Again, no answer. I sent a total of 3 emails asking for a simple response and all 3 went nowhere. I dont know why he will not honor the deal, but this was clearly a sign of not willing to honor the contract we had by me buying the "Big Deal" promotion he promoted on Angie's List. He already had a B grade, which I did read some reviews but still felt OK. I will certainly not be calling him again.

We called Glenn late Thursday evening when our AC suddenly quit. He said he could be at our house Friday afternoon and was. He came early afternoon and immediately diagnosed the problem. Fixed quickly and for a reasonable price. We also discussed installation of several tubular skylights (had them in our previous house and loved them) and plan to have Glenn do the work.

We've been using Energy Masters (Glenn Youngblood) for a few years now. Our first opportunity was in the dead of summer and 115 degrees when our AC died. Glenn was out that morning, assessed the problem, drove into Phoenix to get the parts, and we had AC by 5 pm -- all under warranty for the most part. Since then, we've utilized his company for annual AC & Heating system check-ups and also had him install a solar-tube skylight in our kitchen which is absolutely fabulous! We highly recommend Glenn and his company.

This has been a poor experience with Energy Master.
