Overall, it was a great experience. Can't think of anything negative. All positive and the house looks great.

Contacted Daniel (owner of DZPaint) and set up an appointment for a quote. Daniel came to the home promptly in the afternoon and emailed my quote the next day. I scheduled the job the following day with DZPaint because of his professionalism, competitive price and rave reviews here on Angies List. Workers were professional and took about 4 days to complete the work. Wall holes and imperfections were filled and painted. DZPaint and workers have done a remarkable job!

When I called to set up a quote, I spoke with Daniel. We was willing to set up an early morning quote, as I did not want to miss work and they do not quote on the weekends. Daniel told me he would be there for the quote. Angie's list was having a deal and I had speciific questions regarding the deal, so it was important that Daniel come for the quote. On the morning of the quote, Daniel sent an associate. His associate was not able to answer any of my questions and told me I would hear from Daniel later in the day regarding the quote. Daniel did not call me, rather a quote was sent to me via email. The quote did not reflect that I had discussed the Angie's list deal with Daniel. Daniel also would not honor the deal price for two of the three rooms, claiming that one of the rooms was larger than 250 sq ft according to the associate he sent to measure and that there was too much cutting in the other room for the deal to apply. I explained that he was incorrect about the room measurements, and he said he would get back to me on this. They also were charging for trim and doors. The number of doors to be painted on the quote was inaccurate and Daniel questioned me on this when I told him. He told me that they were not charging me for all of the doors anyway; refusing to change the price. Overall, Daniel told me he would look into my concerns regarding the quote and send me a revised quote. I received three quotes in total, none of which accurately reflected the deal on Angie's list and was over priced (nearly double than another quote I had received). I found them to be extremely unprofessional because if I had not paid attention to the details of the quote, we would have been over charged. I was willing to pay more than what the other painter had quoted because I wanted a highly rated Angie's list painter, and the other painted is not rated on Angie's list. After the quote I did not trust DZ Paint.

As I stated, I sent an email asking for a quote and never heard a word from them.

Excellent to work with and very punctual!

Excellent service. Promptly came to home to give estimate on total costs of job including upgrades. A team of 5 people cme promptly at 8AM on the day agreed for the job. Job entailed pressure washing the entire house, masking windows doors, etc. Filled all cracks in the stucco before painting the house. The job was completed in one day and the results were tremendous. Several neighbors have come over to complement the quality of the .work. Job crew was very courteous and professional. Will definitely use their services in the future.

They were great to deal with, just too far away. I got my coupon refunded by Angie’s List.

They arrived on time and did all work which had been discussed when Daniel came to my home for the estimate.

This company was a joy to work with from setting up to actual painting. Both Daniel and Maira are very courteous and professional. We got our quotes in a very timely manner and their prices were very competitive. Their crew has been working in our house for past four days and they are also very professional and courteous. They do a great job and are willing to work with you. I will definitely use them for my future projects.

They were very good, very helpful, very accommodating. I didn't have a problem with them. They were prompt, they were on time every day. They let use know every day what they were going to do next, so we could be prepared for it. They helped to move the furniture and they did whatever we needed help with. They were very good.

After purchasing two of the big deals from Angie's List, an estimator came out to look at the job. Never met Daniel during the process but did get good responses through email. The original estimator who came out to do the job who my understanding no longer works for DZ had some errors on the original estimate, but Daniel through email corrected these. We added on the baseboards and ceilings on top of the Big Deal of $119 per room. The two painters did come that day to do the painting, Did a very good job, cleaned up after with just a few spots on the area of the fireplace that were easily cleaned up. I would have no hesitation to use them again.

The owner was very attentive and punctual from start to finish. He had to leave town for a week due to a prior commitment during the middle of the project. This resulted in a bad experience with the crew that he left in charge. They lacked supervision, so they did not perform to the best quality and had to redo much of the work installed. This delayed the completion of the project for a week. The owner was very apologetic and bent over backwards to accommodate us and finish the work correctly. In the end, we were very happy with the completed project. I would recommend and use this contractor again. He really cares for his clients.

David came out to the house and was very prompt and detailed regarding the painting estimate. I needed the house, retaining wall, and surrounding metal fence painted. His estimate seemed very reasonable given the others I had received in the recent past. The crew arrived to perform the work as scheduled. The crew was very couteous and appeared to know what they were doing and did it efficiently. The house had some settling cracks in the stucco since it was only built in 2000 and had not been painted since. The crew did it's best to repair the cracks but a Stucco professional needed to come out to redo the repair and I was reasonably satisfied with the work he did. The overall painting job was well done. There are some recommendations I have as a result of the experience. 1. David was not on site to oversee the project and I had to point out details to the crew to meet my satisfaction. 2. There was only one crew member on the last day of the job which was a Saturday and little details were left uncompleted but later resolved. 3. There is not a lot of focus to detail so as a result my patio furniture sustained a significant amount of over-spray that required some moderate cleaning on my behalf. 4. The was significant over-spray on my plants and cactus. A few of the plants had broken branches and I had to remove one of the cactus due to the damage. Overall, I liked the painting work performed. I see lots of potential in the company and see it becoming a premier company once they correct the minor deficiencies and pay more attention to reduce collateral damage.

Came out to check the room quickly. Extra price was fair. Painters prepped and painted very professionally and cleaned up after themselves.

The estimate was thorough; however, we went with another company that was less expensive.

For the most part the guys were nice and they painted my house nice. They must have dumped paint out on my rocks on the side of my house when washing out their stuff when they were done, so there was paint left over on the side of my house and some in my neighbors yard also.

Overall a very good experience; From the beginning estimate and walk around to the job's completion the communication and follow up from Daniel Zapata has been very satisfying. He visited the site several times and stopped over personally to collect some items left behind by his workmen. DZ's two-man crew showed up on time every day; masked off areas where needed and took care to hand paint certain areas where power spray equipment could not be used. There was a one day delay due to the sealant taking longer to dry than expected, but this was a positive because it indicated to me that his people cared that the surfaces were properly prepared. My house looked great after they left and I'm glad I hired them; now, to see about doing the interior--

I needed to paint the exterior of my house and contacted them for an estimate. The gentleman replied to my initial contact very quickly, and scheduled a visit to give me an estimate. He mentioned some coupon special he was running and thought I was responding to that, but I told him I hadn't heard of the coupon - I'd found him on Angie's List and just needed a price for painting my house. He said he'd extend that offer to me, so I was pleased that this might help save me a little. He walked around the property, asked me some questions, and answered my questions. I told him I wanted to begin work within the next two weeks, and he indicated that would not be a problem. He said he would do some calculations, put together a quote, and e-mail it to me that evening. That has been two weeks ago and I never heard back from him. I check my spam folder daily, so it was not caught there. I can only assume that he had a big response to his advertised special and can't meet the demand, so he's blowing off the people he can't get to. I've since contacted another company. They will start work tomorrow, and I'm paying them nearly $5000 for a job this company couldn't be bothered with.

The initial contact was quick then they kind of dropped the ball. Originally told me the price included the paint when Daniel came to look at what I wanted painted & said he had forgotten the samples but would email me some. Never got any email with samples. No response for a few days but was over the Christmas/New Year holidays. When I finally got ahold of them to schedule the work to be done, I confirmed again the paint was included. Daniel called the night before they were scheduled to paint, he told me to make sure I had the paint! Denied ever telling me the paint was included, basically calling me a liar. I went & got paint from Home Depot. They did a great job, damaged a decorative wall hook & didn't tell me or leave a note. Would just tell anyone to confirm everything through email or writing so you are both clear on the job.

Everything as great. Painted the house in one day

F F F F --- Within the first 30 minutes they peed in my yard and smashed a lighting fixture! On the first day of the job, his crew (Luis and Michael) arrived right on time but everything went down hill from there. They no sooner arrived at 7AM when I looked out the window and saw Michael PEEING IN MY BACKYARD! I quickly put an end to that. Daniel arrived a few minutes later and I told him what had happened. He apologized profusely and agreed it was unprofessional and assured me nothing like that would happen again. I would have fired them on the spot right then but I'm from out of town and this was the only week I had available to be at the house while the work was being done so I allowed them to continue especially since Daniel (the owner) was so friendly and helpful when we were deciding what colors to paint the house. Then they started to power wash the house. A few minutes later there was this huge crashing sound on the front window above the front door. Michael had aimed the power washer spray directly against a free-hanging pendant light over the front door shooting it like a bullet against the front window. Luckily, the window was not broken but THE LIGHT WAS DESTROYED! Again, lots of apologies and "we'll make it right" from David. He told me not to worry. He would get a replacement and have it installed. It's been three months now and nothing has been done. David told me it would take six weeks to special order the light. When I called David six weeks after they finished painting to find out about the light, he said it still hadn't come in. I got the same answer at least one more time, then I stopped calling. Finally, at Christmas time, the light still hadn't been fixed so I called the place where he told me he was getting the light from and they say they've never heard of him or his company and they don't have a light on back order. Furthermore, they told me the time frame for this light is only three weeks. I've called Daniel and left messages over and over since Christmas and he has yet to call me back. The crew was at my house painting from Monday until they completed on Saturday morning. The extra time was necessary because I expected the caulking to be done as I've already described. David told me no one does that in Arizona. I wanted it done anyway and I can tell you it looks a lot better than it would have without. His invoice showed the additional caulking charge which was understandable if it's true that no one caulks like that in Arizona. He charged by the job not by the hour or day. Everyday they arrived promptly at 7AM and were gone by 3:30 - 4:00PM. But when they were gone, they left the tarps and equipment out everywhere. Where ever they had tarps when the finished for the day, they stayed there all night...in the driveway, on the sidewalks, bushes, etc. On the last day another couple of painters arrived to finish the job and fix some of the poor quality workmanship that had been done. Even they commented on how sloppily the other painters had left their equipment which was still there and picked up later that morning. Weeks later when I returned to Arizona and talked to my gardener, he told me how the painters had stashed old masking paper, rags, tape, and beverage cans behind the bushes against the house so they didn't have to take it with them! At completion, Daniel offered to do some small interior painting for me for free if I buy the paint. I suppose that was to make up for the really unprofessional job that had been done. Too little, too late...especially since I still don't have my front porch light. I cannot recommend this company to anyone. I do not know how they got so many A ratings. Maybe the majority of people don't watch to see what they are getting Considering the way they started the job, I was particularly vigilant about watching everything they did from start to finish. Even now a screen they worked on has fallen out of the window and is laying on the back porch roof and a calking string is hanging the on the front of another window in the front of the house. David always said that if I found anything wrong I should call him and he'd get it fixed, but that isn't much good if you can't get a return phone call. If you do hire them and your painting crew is Luis and Michael, run for the hills. Insist on a different crew.
