William D. Down & Associates

This arrangment did not go well at all. We had to submit updated plans 3 times because of minor changes required per Arizona code. This included things like the size of footings, the size of the service walk, minimum window openings in the bedroom, etc. 3 times. If William Down had reviewed the plans, I expected the issues to be identified prior to the plans being submitted so corrections could be made. William Down charged me $110 each time the plans were updated for "printing expenses". On top of that, he charged me $75 an hour, 2 hours each time, that he took the plans to the county to be reviewed. When I told him courriers don't charge that much and that I wasn't paying him to be a delivery person, he told me that's how he does business and if I didn't like it, I could find someone else. I guess he figured since I was 1,800 miles away, I was stuck.Needless to say, I fired him, informed the general he was no longer doing any work for me and any additional work on the drawings would be handled by someone else.
