cJust did. Overall it was a very good experience.
Description of Work: My Mom hired a man to take out her garden bath tub and build a walk-in shower. Mom passed, I inherited the home and the horrible shower job. The water did not drain when one showered...you had to literally mop the water out. I hired James (his adult son also worked) to re-do the job. James & son did excellent work. Took out the shower floor tiles & slightly sloped the floor so the water drains. The 1st guy had used big floor sized tiles. James cut these, so it now looks like a shower instead of a kitchen floor. The 1st guy just chipped the tiles around the drain. James cut the tiles in a circle around the drain...looks great. They were extremely clean & tidy & cleaned up well after themselves. They were punctual & did not dilly-dally while working. They were friendly and professional. A very good experience.

My recently deceased elderly Mom had a fellow take out her "garden bathtub" and replace it with a ceramic tiled walk-in shower. After she died and I used the shower I discovered it did not drain. You literally had to mop the water out of the shower. I hired James (who touts 25 years experience). Cutting the floor tiles out without messing up the side wall tiles looked like a hard job to me. But James and his son (helper) did that with no problem, bringing in their shop vac to keep the dust down, and laying a clear plastic over the carpeted bedroom entrance to the bathroom. James corrected the pitch of the shower floor so the water naturally flows to the existing drain. He showed me with his level how the floor was equally pitched from all directions. I wish I'd taken "before" photos. The shower really looked nasty because around the drain the first fellow had chipped the tiles and filled in with grout. James cut 4 tiles in a perfectly circular way to fit around the existing drain hole. Looks wonderful now! The shower drains like a charm, the smaller tiles on the floor look like a shower should look, the cost was certainly reasonable and they worked effeciently and quickly, but I never had the feeling they were doing a "quickie" job. Overall I was not only impressed, but also delighted with the experience. I hope I can find someone like James to do the other jobs that need tending around this house....he only does tile!! And I hope to have him tile the entry way of the front of the house.
Description of Work: A "garden bathtub" had been replaced with ceramic tile for a walk-in shower. The shower would not drain. James had to cut out the 13" x 13" tiles of the shower floor without breaking the wall tiles. He then cut existing, left-over 13" x 13" tiles down to 6" x 6" tiles that look like a shower should look. He had to buy a few more tiles and he matched the existing ones. He put concrete (I guess) on the existing concrete slab and sloped it ever so slightly in all directions toward the existing drain. He even showed me with his level how it was sloped equally in all directions. He put the new tiles down and grouted them with a slightly colored grout that matched the existing grout. The first fellow had chipped the tiles around the drain and it looked really nasty as he just filled in with grout. James cut 4 tiles in a partial circle to fit around the drain perfectly. Looks really good now. He and his son, also James, cleaned up after themselves after each work session. They were both very polite and personable. I am extremely happy with the job they did. I hope to have them back to put tile in the entry way of the front of the house.
