They did not follow my instructions from start to finish. I had two decks built that if done in the proper sequence would have provided safe access to my home throughout the experiance. They compromised the process repetedly and made egress dangerous for me and my family and it didn't need to be that way. Their work was a combination of very poor and adaquate depending on who and what kind of work was being done. The electrician was a joke and should not be trusted. One carpenter did some good work and some very bad work. It was a real mixed bag. Be careful of the materials they purchase because they bought the cheapest lumber they could find for some areas that required rework to be usable.
Description of Work: Desert Springs construction took over 6 months to complete my deck and even then it was not finished. The bracing under the deck was not sufficient and the deck boards flex. They tried several fixes without success and I finally gave up and settled with them for the work done. I still need to do additional bracing and fixes before tthe deck is finished.

As a result I had to remove the deck and ramp from my property before the county would fine me for thousands of dollars. I am already out $2300 for a deck and ramp that do not exist anymore due to poor construction. Now I have to hire another contractor to rebuild what should have been done correctly the first time. I would NOT recommend this contractor to anyone due to their poor customer relations and poor workmanship!
Description of Work: I contracted this company to build a deck sized 20ft by 40ft with an additional ramp for my handicapped Saint Bernard to use. The deck and ramp was to be constructed with composite decking. After the deck was completed, I expressed concern about the deck boards being placed too far apart and that the deck flexed. The contractor stated the deck was built to standard and I would have no issues with the deck and if I ever had any problems then all I had to do was call him. The deck was not built completely of composite decking as I had contracted. The spindles for the railings were made from regular lumber and the frame of the deck and ramp were constructed of untreated lumber. When I called to have the county inspect the deck and ramp, I learned that a permit had not been applied for. When I called the contractor about this, he told me that I did not need a permit since the deck was not permanently attached to the house. This was not the case with the county. In Cochise County, any deck higher than 30inches off the ground must have a permit. My deck was 36 inches off the ground. The county pursued me for the permit for the deck and ramp. I was told by an inspector that the deck and ramp would not pass inspection as it was improperly built. I tried contacting the contractor regarding this, but he would not return my call after I was able to leave one message. Every call after that message left me with no answer and their answering machine full so I was unable to leave any further messages.
