We brought in a lamp and asked specifically, 3 times, for an estimate to have it rewired and chain switches replaced. Mrs. Rycus said her husband would probably start repairing the lamp that night and I told her we didn't want it repaired until we got an estimate to decide if we wanted to spend the money for repair. Lo and behold, we get a call a few days later informing us that the lamp was repaired and it would cost $55. We waited a few days because we were angry about them disregarding our request, and when Mrs. Rycus called again, I told her that we were not expecting that the lamp was repaired, but were expecting an estimate. She just went on as if I never mentioned that and said that she had given my husband all that information the previous week (in fact, she had called to tell him it was done and would cost $55). I will go pick up the lamp on Tuesday and will pay the $55, but haven't decided yet whether these people are in La-La land or if they purposely do this to screw customers over. Chewing her out over it is not going to change anything, but I will never go there again and can relate my experience to others so that they don't get the same unprofessional, and perhaps even unethical, treatment. Now I'll probably look at that lamp every day and get p***** off all over again that a lamp I paid $45 for at an estate sale has now increased into a $100 expense. So, beware of these people and take your lamp somewhere else if you just want an estimate before deciding to get a repair.
Description of Work: We took an old lamp to Rycus Corners to get an estimate to have it rewired and the chain switches replaced. We asked specifically at least 3 times that we get an estimate before work was to proceed on repair. They called us to inform that the repair was done and it would cost us $55. This is not what we asked for.
