 + -1 moreHe was a very nice man and I don't use him anymore. He was very personable and he showed up when he was supposed to. I found that he didn't always think things through as carefully as he should have. I asked him to help me put in an air conditioning duct in one room and extending it into another room. It took a couple of tries to make it work. He made the duct going out smaller so it prevented almost any air from getting to the back room. He fixed it; he didn't get it totally right but it was close. When there was a problem, he was very good about saying that he would take care of it promptly. I have chosen not to use him but if something came up, I would call him back. He is not my first choice now, but it wouldn't make me crazy to call him.
Description of Work: He did handyman stuff.

water heater repair
 + -1 moreI bought a water heater at home Depot. Jim replaced it. Charging $50. dollars an hour. I believe I saved money over all. Jims service is good

 + -1 moreIt went very well once I turned it over to Jim. He is a stand-up old school craftsman and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone in the area. If I need help again, I know who to call.
Description of Work: We bought a counter top from Home Depot and ran into several problems as the kitchen floor and cabinets were not level, the walls were not plumb, and fitting the new sink was problematic. I called Jim and he came over quickly, dealt with the installers, fixed all the problems and finished up all the details of the rest of the install - sink, RO system, stove-top, garbage disposal and even spent several minutes helping me figure out a drainage problem I have with my yard. It was a challenging job from start to finish and he was an invaluable resource for me.

Description of Work: Jim distributed a flyer to our house listing work he could do as a handy man. Later we decided we needed a new walk to replace the old one. We decided it should be of flagstones. He arrived promptly to do the work. He moved the old walk to a place we suggested. He did careful preparation of the ground before he placed the walk. He designed the walk at our request. He spent much time filling the interstices between the stones. We are very pleased with his work.
