I had purchased a coupon for an air cleaning about a year ago from this business. That went fine, no problems. They called me this week for a complimentary air conditioner evaluation / tune up. Since it was free, I took them up on the offer. My heating unit/AC unit was having some issues, and wasn't heating as much as it should have been. The tech came out promptly, and after inspecting the unit told me that he could either repair it for about $1800 + freon (an additional $400 or so), but didnt recommend that since even if he repaired the compressor could go at any time. His recommendation was a new unit. So the two estimates I got was $2200 to get the unit functional (he actually said with leak detection and everything it would be closer to $3000), or $6000 + tax for a new unit. He stated the following things needed repair: He stated the coils were extremely dirty and needed cleaning. He stated the motor was bad and needed to be replaced. He stated I needed a new capacitor. He stated the freon was empty and there was a leak, so I needed leak detection and new freon. He stated he recommended (not 100% necessary) some sort of machine (I forget what it was called) to reduce the initial surge of power when first turned on. It didn't sound quite right because I had a contractor come out about a year ago and said the coils were fine. So I told him I appreciated his time and recommendation and would be getting a second opinion before making a decision of that magnitude. I had another contractor come out today. The contractor evaluated the unit and found only the following repairs necessary: Motor replacement, capacitor replacement, fan blade replacement (it was very warped, and not noticed by the first tech nor included in the repair estimate), and a minor amount of freon. It was able to be completely repaired for $628.49. What US Air tried to do was extremely unethical and should be criminal. In fact, the rep that came today from the other company showed me the coils and they were very clean and said there was no way they needed cleaning at all.

Purchased a $49.95 voucher from Amazon Local that said all air duct vents, including dryer vent ,would be cleaned. Thinking this was possibly too good to be true, I called and was told that indeed this was true, so an appointment date and time window was agreed upon.Technician called to say he was on his way (it was already well passed time window) and would be here in 1/2 hour . He arrived almost 1 1/2 hours later. After bringing heavy hose and equipment into my home, he then proceeded to look into the first vent and gave me the news that my vents were so dirty with debris that I would need a more advanced treatment. He gave an explanation that sounded odd but hey, they're the experts and I know very little about this. He asked more questions about why we were having this done. Main motivation was being an asthmatic; I was willing to take a chance for $50 that this would help. When I found out that the upgraded treatment was over $300, in addition to the $50 voucher I had already purchased, I asked him to just do the $50 treatment. He insisted this would be of no benefit, but the upgraded treatment would greatly help with breathing. It even included a nice eucalyptus scent. He said he had the needed equipment right outside in his truck and could do it immediately. I reluctantly agreed , fairly desperate for some breathing relief . He was finished in under 40 minutes and did the dryer vent in less than a minute saying it didn't look very dirty. I must add that the guy was very personable, polite and convincing. Very smooth. I wrote the check and got my receipt with the written warranty for 3 or 4 annual checks and cleanings if needed (I forget which, since I later threw away the paperwork in anger, disgust and embarrassment, knowing I would never use this company again.). After he left, I sat there in disbelief realizing I just fell for the typical bait and switch. And for all that, breathing issues weren't helped a bit although the house smelled nice for several hours. Never again. One more thing. When I called the phone number I had for the scheduler and expressed my displeasure, the young woman who answered responded that nothing could be done since I did agreed to having the upgraded service performed. That I could have declined. Very true.Just never expected a hard-sell/bait and switch routine and was tired and gullible..Live and learn I guess.

In 2010 to inspecting the air vents of my home they said they found mold, which I believed because I had been getting sick at the time. They sanitized and cleaned my complete air duct system; the main unit cleaning, a duct sealant, a mold controller, a dust mite controller, a deodorizer, and every other bio anti bacteria cleanser that had a fee attached to it that they had. I paid the price and thankfully was no longer getting sick after that. What sold me was every 6 months for the next 4 years they guaranteed to do inspections to maintain the cleanliness and warranty all products and services rendered for the next 4 years. At the first 6 month inspection I scheduled they showed up. Every appointment I have called to make after that, at the 6 month intervals, they schedule and then no one shows or calls. This has happened multiple times to the point I've only seen them twice. Not to mention when they have come they are dressed poorly, make it a point to act like they won't stay long, and leave with no real up to date status of my vents. A guys climbed a ladder, looked, came down, and said it's fine. I really wish I did more research instead of picking a coupon for this company out of a mailer. Alas I had just moved and wanted my air vents checked. I really regret ever giving them my money or time of day. Terrible customer service. Not worth you're time. Even now as I deal with them in 2012.

They used a high power tool to remove the screws in the vents and ended up breaking them and then tried to say they were already broken. They said that that has never happened to them before. I’ve been here ten years and they have never fallen down once. They did say they would reimburse me for the parts, but said they couldn’t come back to fix what the problem for several months.

I bought a Groupon for this company, and was thrilled when they called today to say they could do our duct cleaning earlier than originally proposed. However, I was stunned at how poorly they did.They were supposed to clean the ducts and the dryer vent, including removing and cleaning each of the registers. I have a small home, so this should not have been a big deal. I was not home when they came, but the person who was said they used a large shop vac, but didn't have anything to actually brush the sides of the ducts--just a normal shop vac attachment. They never did clean the dryer vent. The register in the bathroom and hallway both still had dust on them when I looked at them this evening! The In all, they were here for 25 minutes--arriving at 2:55 pm and leaving at 3:20 pm. In my experience, companies that do too poorly can't be counted on to right the wrong. I will attempt to call them to register my complaint tomorrow, but I'm sure I'll need to write off this fifty bucks and have it done by a company with the correct equipment. Their website states they use some anti-microbial solution, but they used no solution on our home. Additionally, they left dust and dirt all over the floors and walls, which had to be cleaned once they left.
