Think Green Irrigation & Landscaping

My experience was very positive. Caitlin walked me through the estimate with options and then reworked it when i understood what elements were important to me. She paid attention to what it was that I was wanting to accomplish. The crew showed up and worked steadily all day. At the end of the project I could not tell that the yard had been trenched all over. Nothing looked disturbed. They also returned to adjust a minor element for me within two days. I would definitly recommend using these folks again.

The sales guy worked with me to get my quote down to where I felt comfortable. Discussed options. Even allowed me to save quite a bit by purchasing my own $40 tree at Home Depot, instead of paying them $200 for one. There were plenty of phone calls and email correspondence letting me know when they were going to arrive (date/time); They showed up promptly on Sept 6th, Nathan introduced me to the project manager and he left. They got right to work. The rock yard was completed in one day; this included tearing up the grass. The cement curbing was poured/installed; and the area where the artificial turf would be installed was smoothed out and prepped.... the grass is actually installed by a sub-contractor. Perhaps I paid more because of this, I don't know. They cleaned up their mess, you could not tell anyone was even there. For that I am happy, I have an HOA and I am on the board, so it wouldn't look good if the front of my house was a mess. It took a few more days before I got the artificial turf in.. this may have been partially due to weather (rain). My only wish is that there would have been some communication on this .. when/what time.. I asked, got no response. I discovered, the first day, that I had a water leak in the irrigation, they were prompt at sending a repairman out to fix it (the next day). I was pleased with that end of it. The repairman came out when I was at work, performed his work and then left a message on my voicemail explaing what he found. The artificial turf is a high grade "Rye Pro" other than it looking a little too perfect (I have a dog!) .. everyone compliments it, some can't even tell it's fake. That quality on the grass portion of the yard makes me wish I had had the budget to do the entire yard in this. Now the only complaint I have is that they apparently do not put down a plastic or cloth barrier between the rock and dirt yard, so you get weeds and grass sprouting through - because guess what? It rained. So I have been out there with grass killer every other since the work was done. All I was told upfront "Bermuda grass is hard to kill". Sigh. The only other thing I can fault Think Green on is the 3% charge that I was dinged with because I used a credit card. This was not really mentioned up front during the quote process.. I am not used to any company charging me extra for accepting credit card payments. It's not like I had a $100 job done, it was $4400. Even if I had the cash, I wouldn't have chosen to pay that way. My advice is for Think Green to build this (crediit card) fee into their quote and discount out for cash payments. But to be quoted one thing and then when they show up and I pull out a card - mention there is a 3% charge for that. Not cool. I did, grudgingly pay it .. and only because I am happy with the quality of work did I suck it up. But I still don't feel it's 'right'.

They did a great job. The only reason I knocked them down one mark in responsiveness was because they did not scatter the backfill dirt across the yard as I asked. However, it was a really minor thing and easily fixed. Ultimately, I could not have been happier with their work. They were quick, hardworking, and performed quality work. I had to piecemeal my yard in stages due to a small budget. But, I know who I will call in the future. I went with this company because it was creative. They thought outside the box to create a great solution for my retaining wall. Excellent creativity and excellent work!

There was little chance to consult along the way. Because I had to go to work, I missed a lot of things being done that I would have liked to have had input in. Everything was done quickly, but it included an inexperienced pruner chopping up a mature rosemary plant that was nearly killed by his chainsaw pruner. When plants died, it was difficult to get response, and it was not until a year later that they admitted that two plants had died and would not return to life from their fried status. The rosemary is pitiful, but they will not replace it. Overall it was expensive for us, and the rock laid on top of Bermuda grass allowed the grass to keep coming back and coming back, necessitating daily spraying with Roundup, something we were not warned of. Now, a year later, the yard looks good, but it took a lot of our own effort and additions to the plans to get it there. The attitude seemd to be that ours was a small job for them, and so not very important.

They declined to do the work as we were out of their service area. They were quite nice however.

Jon Riep came out to my house to the initial assessment and discuss options for re-landscaping my yard and improving the irrigation. I was very impressed by his ideas and he thought of some things that I never would have. After initial meeting, we went back and forth on email (my preferred method of communication) fine tuning the plan until we felt like we had a pretty firm idea of what I wanted. He then came out to my house again with a detailed plan and we walked through his proposal and he showed me pictures of all the plants he was proposing. We made a few minor modifications and then scheduled the work to be done. I was out of town the first day of the project, but returned that evening to find that the crew had only worked in the front yard that day just as I had Jon for them to do. The crew showed up again the next morning and got right to work and began work in the back yard as well as starting where they left off in the front. Overall the job took four days and the crew left the worksite clean every evening. Every member of the crew was very friendly and showed great pride in their work. When the job was completed, they made sure that everything looked perfect and all of their debris was cleaned up. I couldn't be happier with the way things turned out. The yard looks great and I'm looking forward to seeing my new landscaping establish itself. The new sprinkler system is a huge improvement over the old one and is much more intuitive to use. Jon and everyone at Think Green was a pleasure to work with and I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to use them again for future landscaping needs. Highly recommended.

Provided various options including low cost alternatives as well as advantages/disadvantages and suggestions for building in expansion capabilities. Due to using LEDs was able to use existing power supply thereby saving some money. Lighting and irrigation installed were top notch, on time, and when finished, the yard was back to normal and you couldn't tell any work had been done. Did have one minor leak in the irrigation system and wanted to add an additional yard light, they responded quickly and repaired the leak and installed the one yard light at a price that was in line with the full install.

They were very professional. He was the only one who took time to draw pictures and present it. That was above and beyond. The whole thing was very nice. The one thing was that I should have insisted that I was there because I had specific things that I wanted to have done. They were done in 2 days. I had to pay half at the beginning and he came back and I did have a question or 2. Before you make that last payment, make sure you live with what they've done for a few days and possibly tell them that. It wasn't until I was actually out there quite a bit that there were a couple of problems and now I'm having to fix them. He knows about those problems, and has not offered to come back and fix them.

The estimate was conducted quickly. The estimate was for a reasonable amount of money. A team of landscapers spent the entire day grading the front yard with the use of heavy equipment. I think that they removed 20+ tons of material from the front yard. We would trust them to complete another big project.

They responded very quickly to our call and came out. They were courteous and fixed the sprinkler systems. Everything was great. The guy was very good. We will use their services again in the future.

First time on Angies list and very good experience with Think Green. I received another quote but they were much higher, Think Green was more in line with what i was expecting and the coupon from Angies list saved me a few hundred. Michael came out to give us an estimate and we connected very well, he was very punctual, friendly, and engaging. We had a quote within the hour and I called him with several questions. He had a very good sense of customer service. They had availability to get started one week later. We were dying to get this backyard in, we bought a new house and there was nothing but dirt back there! Everything started on time, the crew was all very very friendly as well. I thought that was really cool. The whole job took three days and I was completely satisfied with the quality. The electrical work and irrigation looked very professional and the lighting package was definitely not a cheap kit from home depot. Also, everything was amazingly clean, not single rock past the curbing and my swept my patio clean. Also, they cleaned everything in the front as well. The rock and sod was dropped off in front and when they were done, you couldn't tell the materials were ever there. The work comes with a two year warranty as well, which is very comforting. I am very satisfied with this work and I would recommend Think Green to anyone. I will also be back to Angies list anytime I need a solid referral. I could have saved some money with the unlicensed guy in the pick up truck, but my advice - pay for quality and do it right the first time.

We contacted Think Green after becoming frustrated that our original landscaper would not complete the job in a timely manner and had done a poor job in installing the drip irrigation system which resulted in multiple leaks and wasted water. Think Green promptly provided a written quote based on our desires of what we wanted in our landscaping along with recommendations on how to improve our landscaping. The job entailed the removing of all existing drip irrigation lines and emitters, adding three additional watering zones based on our plantings for a total of four, adding additional landscape lighting and wiring to better illuminate the yard, adding four large granite boulders and three wok planters to our backyard landscaping. This work was completed in less than week and was done very professionally. Since completing the work, we had one call back due to a leaking irrigation valve which was repaired within 24 hours of our call. We will use Think Green in the future for any of our landscape needs based on our previous experience with the company. Their expertise, professionalism and wonderful customer service made them a pleasure to work with and we felt we got exceptional value for our money.

They were on time and did everything they should have done. The quality was pretty good, but they left the yard pretty messy. The price was higher than others, but I just used them since I was frustated with some other companies.

Overall it was a good experience. They left my home and yard cleaner than when they came and accommodated me in every respect.

They fixed the problem and left the job site clean.

ThinkGreen is very good at their trade. The landscaping plan that they drew up for my wife and I is absolutely excellent. Both Jon and Bill are very professional and I'm confident that no one has better knowledge of Arizona landscaping than these guys. I struggle to sum up my overall experience with ThinkGreen. Our intention was to hire ThinkGreen to actually implement the design they created but their price was significantly higher than two other bids that we received for the same project. I can understand paying 10% or even 20% more for quality, but I just don't understand where the miss was on this project with ThinkGreen. Overall, I really like these guys and I can't tell them how to price or run their business. I really wanted to work with them but the price gap was too large and there are other companies that are also very good with service & quality.

I couldn't throw a question at Bill Jenkins that he couldn't answer. He was very frank and helpful. I believe his final estimate to be fair, if a bit above another estimate I received. I think Think Green is worth it given their reputation (Rosie on the House, Angie's List).

The quote process was really great. John came out, I explained what I wanted done and within a day I had a quote in hand. The quote for everything I wanted done was a bit more than I wanted to spend at the time but everything was itemized so I could ask to remove a few things in order to shave the cost. The crew of two came out and performed the agreed to work, they were here on time and explained very clearly to me what they were doing. They did find my mystery leak but did not have the tools they needed to make the repair, however they did return the next day to make the fix, they were also very careful about the plant they needed to move to get to the leak and to keep it safe until they could return.

Bill and his group are really sharp. Jeff oversees and is very responsive. All of their people understand English. They are reasonable with cost and they did a quality job. The price above is for them redoing the lighting.

They were very good and were more knowledable than the previous company we have used. We were very pleased with their service and will use them in the future.

Think Green did a great job at the end of a very long and arduous home remodel project. They had the best follow through of anyone we worked with on the project. They did the project in two phases. The same crew even came out for both, which was so great to have that continuity. Everything they did is working out great. They are not going to be the cheapest, but they will be the most dependable and highest quality company you could ever work with.

They did this all on my word that I would pay them when I returned from Australia. Very nice company to work with.

I would highly recommend this company. They were competitively priced, efficient and professional. They completed the job as promised in a timely manner and also did a couple of extra little things in the yard that they did not charge me extra for. I have already referred several people to Think Green, and everyone has been impressed with their service.

THEY KNEW WE WERE ON A TIGHT BUDGET AND WORKED WITH US TO GET THE MOST FOR OUR DOLLAR. I WILL DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE NEEDING THIS SERVICE AND WILL CERTAINLY USE THEM AGAIN MYSELF. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS SECOND TO NONE.
