THE HANDYMAN NEXT DOOR

Not well. I feel like we were lied to and somewhat swindled. When I made the appointment, I explained the 3 tasks that I wanted done. Kerry said no problem, they can do that. The technician showed up a half-hour early, a pleasant surprise. We had laid out the replacement alarms, and the enclosed instructions. The technician fairly rapidly replaced the alarms and tested them. That took about 45 minutes. Then he turned to the door sealing. After a few minutes, he said that there was nothing he could do, and that we needed to get a door specialist. Then he turned to the doorbell. He said that "the transformer was bad", but couldn't find the transformer. We spent some time looking for the mythical transformer, to no avail. The technician said that we needed to hire an electrician who could "trace the wiring". My main objection is that they said they could do the work, and couldn't or didn't. While they failed to meet the verbal agreement we made -- not doing two of the three tasks, they still expected me to fully comply with the agreement, and pay them for work they failed to do. I feel like I was lied to and ripped off, price-wise. I will never use this unprofessional and dishonest company again.

John was on time, efficient, professional, and did an excellent job with everything on my list.

Wonderful. John was great. He was here on time. I just gave him the new top and he went right to work. This is the second time we have used this company. They actually put up the gazebo for us 3 years ago. They were fantastic them too. I highly recommend them.

I am very impressed with the work that was done. The work was done quickly and professionally. I can't even tell that there use to be a pet door in the wall. The price was acceptable and work was done efficiently. I highly recommend and will call them for future work around the house.

We found them through Angie's List. I would give them an A plus. We used them like three different times. It was three different handymen each time. All three of them were incredibly knowledgeable and respectful and great. They just came in and stayed on top. They identified things, were honest and all of that. We were super happy with them. I don't remember their names but we had a list of projects and so they had to come out three different times to do it all.

I would use them again in future. It was a very reasonable price. We paid three separate times for the work that they did but it was very reasonable. We are super happy with them.

We had one of those inspection lists for the sale of our home. I contacted this company. They set the appointment right away and sent Dolan because of the various repairs we needed done. He was a wizard. The major drywall repairs that he did are completely invisible. He even got the paint color(several years old on the wall) to match by mixing. He was prompt, personable and professional. Incredible skill set because he did so many different jobs! Good price for a long day's work. I will be using him in the house we are buying for all those things that are so difficult without the tools and know-how.

All work was performed as requested. The workmanship was great. Dolan was thorough and extremely professional. Where he ran into a few challenges, we talked out the options and agreed on the best path forward. I am very happy with the services provided.

Dolan showed up on time and rapidly adjusted my wooden gate with steel latch that I was unable to open after 12 years of use. Dolan knew exactly how to adjust this gate that I had been struggling to open all year. Next time I will get several jobs together. this business has a 2 hr minimum but since I didn't know that, Dolan adjusted the price down and that made me happy! If it was my plumber, I would have been charged $75 trip fee so I was happy with the price and the service!

The job went great, except for an unexpected issue with my home's existing framing. Instead of one 2 x 4 laying flat against the header, my home had two 2 x 4's laying side by side in a horizontal position. Contractor made a 1/4" notch into the wood so I could have a smooth ceiling and most impressive they did it at no additional charge.

We discussed the nature of the ceiling cracks in May 2015 as being caused by expansion/contraction so I suggested a flexible patch of some sort to prevent recurrence. After their repair in May 2015, the cracks returned by the end of 2015. I called them in January 2016 to let them know about this and to inquire about some other potential repairs. Spoke with the owner who said he had no record of the repair in May 2015. After about 10 minutes of trying to jog his memory, he realized that the work was performed by John Malone, his son-in-law or other relative, and that John's work was kept in another log. Bizarre. John was scheduled to come out on February 8, 2016 but didn't show up at the agreed time. I called and he said he ran behind with another customer. So he came out the next day (2/9/16). I showed him the ceiling cracks and also asked him about some tile repair and front door refinishing. A few days later I got a text from him about his investigation into the front door work and that was the last I heard from John. it's now February 26, 2016 and I haven't heard anything else about the ceiling cracks, the tile repair or the front door refinishing. I found some flexible spackling at home depot for this sort of repair, attached a foam brush to an extension pole and filled the crack with it. I also sanded and painted it with the extension pole and it looks as good as new. Lesson learned. Don't use "Handyman Next Door" again.

He did a very good job. My daughter from another state hired him for me. He installed new door nobs, grab bar in shower, replaced smoke detectors. He repaired a fence that was damaged by some landscapers. He also moved some heavy items for us to clean around. My daughters and i were very happy to have him there. He was very personable and stayed on his takes and did not waist any time. He also would check with us before doing something to make sure we wanted it done.

John did a great job on everything we needed done. He was a bit late, but stayed until everything was done. He was fast, efficient, very professional and knowledgeable.

The appointment was easy and the handyman was on time. He was very pleasant and listened carefully what I needed to have done.

John did a great job on these tasks. All of the assembly was complicated and he completed them quickly and correctly. We needed one more dresser completed and he came in on his day off (Saturday) to finish it up for us. We would definitely use this group again.

John was courteous, friendly and efficient. Highly recommend!

John was prompt, professional, efficient and a pleasure to have in the house. In addition, he had several very helpful suggestions. We have used the company before and they have a great team. THe earn their fee every time.

OK all you DIYers, hanging an IKEA cabinet and assembling and hanging one of their wall mounted desks might sound like a day in the park to you but this was no easy task. Dolan (who by the way is nothing short of fantastic) knew IKEA, and he also knew how to position both items so that they opened correctly & without hitting walls etc. We wouldn't have thought of that. That's why we don't do this for a living. Dolan also showed us how to adjust the cabinet doors so that they were perfectly level and matched up with each other. And, to impress us further (which he didn't need to do; we were already there) he repaired the hole where the outlet had been removed earlier by our electrician to make room for the cabinet. He had all the tools and supplies necessary: drywall patch and texturizer. He used our leftover paint to complete the job. We didn't ask this of him.....he just did it. All of this took a half hour more than the $150 2-hour coupon we purchased to try this company out. When we asked what we owed him for the additional time (all of which was very well spent) Dolan told us to just keep The Handyman Next Door in mind for our next job. You can bet we will! Thank you!!!

Handymen were polite and cordial. Had to come out a second time to rectify an issue with the kitchen sink but did so without hesitation.

I was satisfied with the quality of the work. The handyman was dressed and acted professionally.
