Swenson Electric

After wasting 2 weeks in chasing an unresponsive electrician on the top of Angie's list, I left a voice message for Swenson Electric. Guy Swenson (the owner) promptly called back, discussed the job and scheduled it. The guys showed up as promised, had everything needed for the job and finished it in half the time originally quoted (and charged me 1/2!). I was very impressed by their focus on installing just what we needed at minimum cost - which was less than we originally proposed ourselves! Great experience overall, I would definitely use them again and gladly recommend to others.

Mr. Swenson arrived promptly and made the necessary repairs.

Guy, the owner was prompt and timely in his response for service. He arrived and did a thorough assessment of the problems that I had identified. He also found a few other issues that I was unaware of. He was able to fix about half of the problems on his first visit. Because he could not identify one major issue he asked me to do some work on my own to help him sort through the problem. I did this and called him back a few days later. He responded immediately and was able to fix the remaining issue with minimal effort. He explained exactly what he was doing as he worked through the issues and provided me with various options before doing any work. He was pleasant, courteous and professional. All of his work was meticulous and he cleaned up afterwards. The cost was very fair and I would recommend him without hesitation.

I damaged my water heater circuit breaker. I called Swenson at about 6:30 PM Saturday night. I received a call back at 7:00 PM from Guy Swenson. I described the issue. He said he could get the right part and said he would call Sunday morning at 7:30 AM about coming to make the repair. He call promptly at 7:30. To help find the right circuit breaker, I sent a photo of the old one on my smartphone. He called back immediately to confirm he could get the breaker and then showed up out our home at about 8:30 AM. He removed the old circuit breaker and saw evidence of overheating. He installed the new breaker and trimmed the ends of two connecting wires to remove heat damage to the insulation. He connected the wires. We checked a new water heater timer, the installation of which caused the damage to the old breaker, and verified the installation now looked OK. He closed the breaker and everything worked appropriately. As he got ready to close the electrical box, he heard some arcing. He turned on and off all the breakers in the box, then checked the common bus bar connections. There he found a wire connection with a screw that was completely loose. He tightened it and no further signs of arcing appeared. This was a fortuitous find because the loose common wire could potentially cause a serious problem, as well as RF interference, which I had observed. I was very pleased with Guy Swenson's professionalism and quick response to my call for service. (None of the other electrical service companies I left messages with have called back yet as of 11:00 AM Monday.) I will probably schedule to have him make a service upgrade to a new electrical box in the near future.

Where do I start!! Purchased and moved into condo only to discover breaker would trip when air handler for downstairs unit woul be turned on via thermostat. Blower would work for five mins and then "pop". Plus, upstairs unit would not turn on at all. Thought no problem, I will simply call Old Republic Home Warranty. After 3 electricians and 2 HVAC technicians, Old Republic told me I was on my own. Mind you, none of the 5 techs sent by Old Republic bothered to change the breakers, ladder up to the roof to check if correct code wiring used that might cause breaker to trip or unit failure, check handler disconnect switches, or investigate if my unit used a heat pump or heat strips imbedded in the duct work behind each of the handlers. Got on Angie's List and hallelujah I found Swenson Electric - Guy, Casey and Dave. In less than an hour Casey and Dave at my door - they happened to be in my area. They immediately viewed the breakers and then began investigating the HVAC system. To my amazement, electricians were checking AC-heat units to see how problem could trail back to breakers. Casey was on the roof no less than 4 times, discovered no heat pump but heat strips behind the handlers inside the house. Casey checked ampage draw on downstairs unit - 22 amps (clearly, the 15 amp breaker would not work and would have to be upped to 30 amp). Casey then discovers upstairs unit has a disconnect switch that was in the off position. After turning it on, unit turns on but it too drawing 22 amps. After all is said and done, Casey put in two breakers, confirmed correct wiring used on roof units, rewired circuit box to differentiate upstairs and downstairs units and got upstairs unit to work after finding disconnect switch in the wrong position. I can finally move into my home because the Swenson trio went out of their way to find the problem and not just change the breakers and then walk away. Casey was determined to find the upstair's unit failure and why the breaker box labeling (and wiring) did not make sense. We still don't understand how previous owner got "heat" at all, given the incorrect breaker. Highly recommend Swensen Electric. Old fashioned professionalism, common sense and care. Will call upon them in the future.

They arrived on time. Finished the job in one hour . Work was neat , they covered floor area and cleaned up afterward.

It went extremely well in terms of getting the electrical work done. We were very lucky to get them here the day of request to assess the nature of the problem and Guy was able to schedule and complete work the next day. We had used their services a few years back and they were spot on and we knew we were lucky to have their names if services were needed in the future. Guy, Casey, and Dave were extremely professional, honest, and neat and I highly recommend them. Its rare today to find today a 10+ tradesmen and Swenson exceeded our expectations again!!!! thank you!!!!!

The work was professionally done with first class materials. I was very pleased with the Fountain conduit work. Note that this is the second time I have hired Swenson Electric and have been pleased with both results.

I was very impressed with how fast and efficient they were. Very curious and even took care of some electrical issues that weren't on the schedule to do.

Very well. offered some suggestions of what we should do and also assisted with our outdoor lighting.

I submitted a request to three different electricians via Angie's List email. Guy called me in 15 or 20 minutes, on a Holiday. Guy was able to come by the next day. He gave me a call to let me know he was on his way. Guy was friendly and professional. It seemed clear he knew what he was doing. He really helped me out by getting things safe and providing me with an idea of what needs to be done. He's very reasonably priced and I'm very pleased with the work he did. I'll be calling Guy for all my future electrical work.

I had a circuit breaker tripping off frequently, shutting down my refrigerator. When it became evident that the age of my mobile home made a professional fix more expensive than this senior citizen could afford, Guy offered some guidance on how I could 'get by'. Very courteous, did not push to do the work.

Mr. Swenson was up to the point. Now I know the electrical recommendations for my 1955 home in order of importance. Hope I will be able to do some work by myself and hire the Swenson Electric to bring the rest up to the code. Thank you, Danuta Pasieczny

These guys are amazing. Not only did they do a great job on the installation, but Guy personally came by today to fix some electrical wiring that someone working on the patio enclosure damaged. I would highly recommend Swenson Electric and will be calling on them in the future for any of my electrical services.

We called Swenson Electric at 5:25 am on a Friday because we had a single circuit power outage, but the breaker was not tripped. We were concerned about potential fire and safety hazards so we started calling electricians on Angie's List to see if anyone would pick up that early in the morning. Guy Swenson the owner picked up and spoke with my husband. He said he would be by before 7am to check it out. He showed up at 6:45 am and did a load test on the circuit breaker and found everything was ok. It was a loose breaker to the buss bar so he tightened it and explained that overtime these can become loose and become an open circuit. He was very knowledgable and we were so pleased that he answered the phone so early and came within an hour an a half. We will use this company again for future electrical needs. Thank you Guy!

Half of my house was built in 1924 and the other half in 1993. The electricians worked very hard to try to find ways to do everything I wanted done, especially putting the dimmer and rewiring the exhaust in my bathroom in the 1924 area of my home. The electricians were very clean, polite, and professional. Also, the cost was within $90.00 of the estimate.

We were waiting for the project to be done to do any grading on the outcome. They were very good. They were very timely. They followed through. When there were little problems they came back and did what ever adjustments were necessary. No problems what so ever. We are satisfied with the work. They were very prompt at getting it done. They came back and fixed things the way we wanted it. They were nice about having to come back out and they did it at no charge. I really like that they follow through with the customer. The key thing is they stood by what they did. They were professional. They were very responsive.

Guy the owner and his brother Casey were scheduled to come and do some electrical work together, however, Guy was very ill, but his brother did show up promptly and on time. I was a bit concerned that Casey may have difficulty completing all of the work solo, but I was in for a pleasant surprise. Casey was quite skilled, efficient and professional. In addition, he also provided one of my most sought after attributes of any professional working in my home: RESPECT for people and their belongings. He was most careful to completely cover all work areas and clean up afterward. In addition, he would always give a heads up prior to using any noisy equipment. The only issue I had was that they could not accommodate a 10AM or later start time. I was very happy with the company and I will most definitely hire them again. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Swenson Electric!

I had some troubling outlets in my home I hadn?t been using: one sparked, one worked intermittently, and one got hot. The electrician came right on time the next day and got right to work. He replaced and pigtailed the three outlets because my wiring is aluminum. I had concerns about water getting into my breaker box, so he checked that out and made some suggestions about updating that on a budget. I had asked him about lights dimming whenever the microwave was turned on. He explained about increased power demands on an old breaker box. He answered all of my questions and will now be my go-to electrician. I am so pleased with the service.

It went really well and we're thrilled with the results. Had been a very dark corner before over a black granite counter. Called Guy mid-week and we arranged appointment for the following Tuesday but he was actually able to get over a day early which was even better. Guy and Casey gave us a couple of options to consider, we picked one and the work began. While Guy went for the product we decided upon, Casey did the rewiring - all done in about two hours. It works great and looks great. Very neatly and professionally done. Guy and Casey are both great to work with - they explain options and what they'll be doing very well. This is our third time using this company and we'll definitely use them again.

Swenson Electric was great! Guy went above and beyond in all areas at half the cost of another "higher reviewed" company. Their work was excellent, re-wiring two conduits that kept a very low profile on the house. The work inside the house was also terrific as we had been told by a previous company that it could not be fixed. I will be using Swenson Electric for all our electrical needs from now on.

Moved into our new home only to find many mistakes and cosmetic flaws from the original electrician. Called Guy and he came out the next day. I am very pleased with his level of service. His employee's could not have been any nicer or professional. I will be using him in the near future to perform other work as well. Although someone might look at the price as high please understand the amount of work I wanted done was lengthy and extensive. I feel his pricing is totally inline and you can't put a price on professionalism.

I contacted Guy Swenson around 1PM today hoping he could fix our broken light swtich within a few days. He listened to me tell him about the problem and what we had checked then told me he would fit us in after th ejob he was working on. He arrived with his assistant exactly within the promised time window, quicky diagnosed the problem and reconnected the loose wires. Both men were professional and knowledgeable and worked efficiently and neatly. The job was complete within 30 minutes including debris clean up, and without my asking, Guy told me to deduct the Angie's list discount from the price of the service. What a treat to have the lights back in the bathroom - Guy you are a real Godsend!
