 + -1 moreHe required one bathroom that had an outlet that was not grounded, two switches that we're wired the wrong way and with two different sizes of wire that can cause a fire. The switches for the lights were wired into the outlet and were tripping the outlets GFI. He also fixed the two outlets in other rooms that were coming out of the walls. He also fixed the broken outdoor outlet that had fallen into the block wall and the wires were not connected well. He found the problem with another bathrooms GFI.
Description of Work: Guy was very knowledgable and efficient. He discovered what was wrong with each item on my list and fixed everything promptly. I couldn't ask for a better electrical service. We are very happy to have found this company.

Description of Work: I have an older house and had a circuit in my kitchen go out. It had been overloaded with dishwasher, disposal and other outlets. Guy Swenson came by my house within a day and we discussed possible fixes and he gave me quotes for those alternatives. I scheduled a time and day for the repairs and Guy and his assistant were there right on time. The work was completed in half the expected time and everything was cleaned up and working when done. The price was very fair and lower than I expected. I am extremely happy with the final product of converting one overloaded circuit into three separate circuits, a much safer circumstance for me! I have other projects I wish to do and will not hesitate to call Swenson Electric for those jobs. Thank you Angie's List for pointing me in his direction.

 + 0 moreWhen I first approached Swenson, I asked about how much it would cost to install a multi-ways switch. Talking to Gay, he taught me a trick so that even I could complete the work myself. He gave me the cheapest way to achieve my goal and he didn?t make any business in the process. I was very impressed by his ?customer first? attitude. Then I was undertaking a major remodeling and I needed a lot of electrical work. I needed to install about 16 junction boxes on ceilings and wall and numerous other electrical check up and outlets. Naturally I went back to Guy. He sent Casey and Dave and they were both extremely professional. I went through in details with Casey exactly what I wanted and he gave me expert opinions and suggested best ways to achieve my end goals. The original estimate was close to 3 days worth of work with 2 people. Turns out they completed it in less than 2 days. They absolutely under promise and over achieve. With that quick turn around I could afford couple more things I liked to get done. I was extremely pleased and impressed by Casey?s work. I wholeheartedly recommend Swenson. Their price is fair. Their people are outstanding and professional, and their works are just outstanding.

 + 0 moreWe contacted another Angie's list electrical company to do the work. They made an appointment to come to our house next week to complete the work.
Description of Work: July 12, 2012 my husband called Swenson Electric and spoke to a man named Guy, my husband advised Guy that we needed 2 ceiling fans installed with the wall switches for the fans and we also needed a chandelier replaced. Guy was very nice and professional and advised the cost for the work we needed. We agreed to the cost, Guy advised my husband that he would call us on July 16, 2012 to let us know when someone from his company would come to our house to do the work. On July 16, Guy called us and advised us that his people would come to our house on July 30th at 5:00AM (due to having to work in the attic during hot summer AZ days), we agreed to this! On 07/30/12, my husband got out of bed at 4:30am to wait for the workers, by 10:30am NO ONE CAME TO OUR HOUSE AND NO ONE CALLED TO SAY THEY WERE NOT COMING! I called Guy about 10:40am and asked him what happened. First he stated that we were not on his schedule, I reminded him of the phone conversation he had on 07/16/12 with my husband, then he remembered the appointment that was made with us for 07/30/12 and he said he was very sorry it was a mix up in the records. Guy asked me if he could re-schedule and I told him NO! To me, if a company tells you that they are going to do something, they need to make sure that they do it. If something comes up and the company is unable to keep their word, the company needs to contact the customer to advise them. It is not the responsibility of the customer to make sure that the company schedule is correct and updated!

 + -1 moreI spoke with Mr. Swenson on May 5th and set up an appointment for some electrical work at my house on May 7th. He called me back within half an hour and told me that he had some workmen in the area and if I was amenable, they could be there within the hour. Casey called me shortly thereafter to tell me they were on their way, and he and his compatriot showed up on the dot. The entire job took less than an hour. The men were professional, neat, and friendly. I would not hesitate to use this company again.
Description of Work: They replaced a switch on a ceiling fan and replaced the sockets on two ceiling lights in the kitchen.

 + -1 moreI spoke to Guy and described the issue: the outlet to our microwave had suddenly stopped working . This outlet is in a cabinet above the microwave. I also asked Guy to install a permanent power strip in our kitchen, as the previous owner had taken a small, plug-in type of power strip and attached it to the underside of one of our kitchen cabinets (with liquid nails of all things) to act as a power source for small appliances due to the lack of an accessible outlet in that spot. (The wall there is solid brick.) Needless to say, this was not the safest option, and we wanted it corrected with something safe and permanent. Guy and his employee had to problem-solve these issues due to the solid brick wall and the configuration of our kitchen. The job turned out to be more labor-intensive than originally expected due to the "quirks" of our older home. It was built in 1942, and the previous owner had done some rather creative electrical work. Guy came up with two possible solutions for the power strip situation and explained them both, including the pros and cons of each. He was extremely helpful, and was very knowledgeable about the issues specific to our older home. I was very happy with the work performed, their professionalism, and Guy's willingness to explain things to me as he proceeded. I had no qualms about the cost because I felt comfortable with Guy's expertise. I feel that my kitchen -- and my home -- is safer now thanks to the electrical imprpovements that Guy performed.
Description of Work: Re-wired the outlet for our over-the-range microwave, installed new multiple outlet power strip, added two new circuits to the breaker box.

Description of Work: My pool pump had an electrical problem that Guy was able to quickly fix by replacing a failed switch; because of the complex configuration, this was not as straight forward as one might guess. Guy came to my home at 5:30, which was only two hours after I called him, for a problem that I didn't consider to be urgent. He fixed my issue and charged a very reasonable fee for the amount of time he was at my home, especially since it was after hours. I will definitely call Guy again

 + -1 moreThe two workers arrived ontime; they set about looking at the various problems; The senior electrician was expert at diagnosing the problems and assigning work to the other electrician. They identified and fixed numerous problems from past work that was performed badly or incorrectly. Within two hours they had found quite a few problems and fixed them all. In general I was totally satisfied with their competence and professionalism. As noted above my only quibble is that they do not work on telephone or cable TV wiring.
Description of Work: Miscellaneous repairs: grounded outlets not grounded; grounded outlets joined in series; pool outlets not grounded; moving dimmer; etc. My one quibble: They do not work on telephone or cable TV wiring for which I needed some assistance.

Description of Work: I called Swenson Electric and received a call back the same day. Mr. Swenson discussed my problem over the phone- I thought I had blown a fuse. He was willing to come out and take a look, but first suggested some things over the phone - I tried it and the lights and microwave came back on. He told me what would probably be needed for a permanent fix.

David was extremely nice, arrived promptly and did all of the work as described in a timely manner. I will definitely contact Swenson Electric again when an electrician is needed.
Description of Work: David replaced our existing recessed kitchen lighting with new energy efficient, "green" T8 electronic ballasts. At our request, he also inspected our outdoor electric panel to make sure everything was working properly and tightened some parts.

She seemed very happy with the work performed and as far as I am aware they were on time and did a wonderful job. Guy was also prompt in sending the invoice to my address; I have had numerous problems in the past when having work done at the unit with contractors/service personnel not sending the invoice/receipt to my address. This was not an issue in this case. Will definitely use again for any electrical problems that come up.
Description of Work: Electrical for microwave above kitchen stove was re-routed to another circuit, as the current wiring was set up for a vent hood only and kept tripping the breaker.
