Swenson Electric

All went very well. All contractors should strive to be so professional. Called back quickly on the price and scheduling. Arrived right on time and worked quickly. Asked enough questions to avoid surprises, where to locate the box for the spa, how high to locate the light... Worked very efficiently, took about an hour less time than they quoted and cost about 75 less than quoted. Which is great.

Guy was very responsive to my request for service. He contacted me quickly and gave me several suggestions to try first. Called Guy Thursday evening after work and was surprised to reach him as it was after hours. Advised that I had tried the steps he mentioned but still had no power in the outlets. He then said he would be out the next morning at 7:30. Guy showed up on time and was able to quickly correct the error made by the other company. Guy was also able to fix several other outlets that were not working, tracking down the source of the problem. This company provides excellent customer service and quality work. I would highly recommend them. In fact I have already done so to people in my office. Thanks Guy!!!

We were very pleased with the service. All outlets now work.

They were friendly and professional. However, I had a problem with the timer on the outdoor lights after they left. Called to have them return and fix the problem but they never called back to schedule a return visit. Had to get someone else to fix the problem.

I spoke with Guy and told him that we had installed a professional lighting kit that was not working. This was not a cheap set and we followed the directions as stated. We dug all of the ditches and placed the lights and ran the wire. It is a relatively small area in our front yard. Guy told me that he could come out and give me an estimate. He made no mention of a charge for an estimate. He spent 10 minutes at our home and said that he could come out in the next couple of days. He set up an appointment to come out in the late morning around 11am. We discussed that I would provide any additional materials such as wire but he was providing the gel caps. Two of his employees arrived around 845am. I was notified by cell phone much later that they needed more wire. I specifically told his employee Casey that I would purchase it at Home Depot and rush home. I bought what Casey said that he needed for the job which was an extra 200 ft of wire. That was in addition to the 200 ft we already had at the house. They did not come prepared for the job with the appropriate amount of wire. Unfortunately since they showed up at my house 3 hours early while I was not home - they were waiting and charging me 130 dollars per hour to return with the wire. My husband was home at that time. He said that they were done and waiting for me. My husband watched them do most of the work. He said that it took them about 10 minutes to install each set of gel caps on the existing wire. After completing the wire work in the front they swapped out a small transformer in our back yard. They spent about 2 1/2 hours working. We asked questions and watched them work so that we could be informed. Again we paid for that and it was not free advice. I received our bill and found several discrepancies including a charge for an extra 100 ft of wire and more time for labor than performed. When I spoke to Guy on the phone he was incredibly arrogant and defensive. He told me that he did us a favor by not charging for an estimate. He said that he did us a favor by, as he said, allowing us to see how they did the repair and that no other company would do that. He told me that he did us a favor by not charging for gas and stated that it was a 1 hour commute. His office is located less than 13 miles from our home. He also said that he did me a favor by not charging for his estimate and he claimed to have spent 30 minutes at our house. I was with him and I know exactly how long I spent with him...10 minutes. He over charged me for the time spent and materials used. He told me they used 500 ft of wire and if I didn't believe him, I could go measure it. I did and his math was inaccurate. He was awful on the phone and I wouldn't recommend him to anyone. He told me that it would have taken one of his guys 6 hours to splice and add gel caps to 12 lights. His math is completely incorrect based on what we witnessed firsthand. He even sarcastically asked me if I thought that he should have done the work for free. That was rude and unnecessary. And he told me that anyone can be taught how to perform brain surgery. Either he compares his work to brain surgery or he doesn't have a high regard for his industry. I explained that I felt that he took advantage of us and I just wanted to be treated fairly. He didn't care. All in all, the work that his employes did was good. We were charged for every minute of that work and some. Guy did not do us any favors. He did exactly what people hire him do to everyday. I didn't appreciate his arrogance and condescending manner and miscalculations. It left me feeling that he is not trustworthy. I've had great success with Angie's List, but I would caution other members about using him.

Gus answered my email the same day, was able to schedule quickly, arrived on time, explained what he was doing and why, and completed the work promptly.

Took awhile to get back to me after several calls but did offer to come out and I had hired someone else else by then. I hear from the reviews they do good work so I would not be put off by what this company can do. It was just hard to get an appointment. The electrician did talk me through some trouble shooting on the phone and I was able to reset my breakers - but getting them to come out to do the additional work took 5 days for someone to finally return my call and set a date. When they did return the call at 6:30am on a Tuesday morning they said they could come out that day. But I work and need more time. I recommend getting a date to set an appointment on the first call and if you don't hear back and don't have time, try another service.

Arrived at the agreed appointment time and fulfilled all the things I had wanted done in what I felt was a timely fashion. Both electricians were friendly to deal with and I plan on calling them in the future for additional electrical work I plan on having done.

Outstanding Electrician. When I called to make an appointment Guy, the owner, answered the phone on the second ring. An appt was set and he showed up on time. He is obviously very knowledgable and went right to work and explained to me what he was doing and why. His work was excellent. He made sure everything was covered with a tarp as he had to cut some of the dry wall. Everything was clean and in great working order when he finished. I will use him again and again. And I will be sure to let my friends know. Thank you Guy.

The call was great. It was like retro business, genuine old school customer service. More about helping people rather than, "how can I make a buck" I will have them come out and do some small electrical work in a couple weeks. His good service has and will pay off. I will recommend this company. Very difficult to find "good" customer service these days!

I was grateful to have the alarm silenced without losing another night's sleep. His promptness was appreciated.

Swenson Electric is awesome. Guy does and excellent job of (on site) estimating for the work. Unlike others, he comes and looks at the job so the estimate will be spot on (unless you change the scope on the day of the work). Casey and Dave arrived completely on-time on the day of the scheduled work. They got right to work and found creative ways to enhance the aesthetics of the work. They worked quickly and efficiently and were personable and courteous and respectful of my home. I can't ask for a better experience from a vendor and I appreciate the entire Swenson team.

These guys are great. Guy took my call while on a job, but called back later that afternoon. His brother Casey had a time slot the next day and we took it. Casey called in advance, arrived on time, knew what he was doing from the start, and did the work efficiently. A handyman had spent two hours working on it earlier in the week, and could not get it to work. Casey was done in a little over 1/2 hour and it works great. I think that Angie's List members give out A ratings far too easily, but these guys are worth it. We don't need to worry any more about trying to find a good electrician in Metro Phoenix.

We will never call anyone else for electrical problems/work.!!!! Our problem: Main GFIC & 3 related GFIs blew out/ would not work/reset. My husband, after attempting to fix problem himself & getting extremely frustrated, called & spoke to Guy Swenson personally. Guy gave him some phone advice (2 calls) & said if it didn't work he would come out. Lo & behold...the problem was solved.!!!! At no charge.!!! This is (old time) customer service/ethics at the epitome. Guy was patient/polite with this wannabe do-it-yourselfer. As senior citizens, we especially appreciate that. Thank you Guy Swenson.

Extremely polite and professional. Another electrician had told me I needed a new pump for my fountain but Swensen said it just needed a new timer, and they were right! Really liked these guys.

he came in jan 2, on time around 0800am as scheduled. he checked the problem outlet and the power strip where the wires were attached. He found out , the outlet was working well and it was my power strip that was "burned out". I gave him another of my own power strip. he proceeded to connect all computer wires and plugged it into the electrical outlet. And lo and behold my computer powered up. all I needed was a power strip to power my computer . nothing wrong with the outlet at all. He asked for $120.00 dollars in check when I offered to pay his short service. Guy Swenson did not want to be payed with credit card for a less than 10 minute job. he said he wants $120.00 dollars cash or check which I payed. He drove from Scottsdale to my place, in Glendale. So he asked for the full amount of $120.00 dollars. ( angieslist member discount not given or offered) I was sad because I have used them before and his guys did a good job. I was hoping that he would give me a break since all he had to do was to plug all my computer wires to a new power strip .And I was a prev/repeat customer. The electrical outlets were working well.

My garage fluorescent light fixture ballast failed. I replaced it and the motion sensor that activated it but the light would not work. i tried everything with no success so i called and left a message on Swenson Electric answering machine asking them to come get it operational. Within an hour, Gary called and said "sounds like you have followed all the right steps; let's try one more step before i come out". The procedure he suggested identified that the problem was the new Motion Sensor. I was able to exchange the motion sensor for one that would work with the new ballast and the light is working fine now. amazing service!

Love this company! I had an outlet replaced. I left a message on Sunday though Angie's list and first thing Monday they got a hold of me scheduled the appointment for the same day! Workers where early as well as pleasant and helpful. They even give me idea of cost on a future project I want done. I will us them in the future! I also received a discount from Angie list one what I had done!

They did as they were told and everything went perfect.

He arrived sooner than he predicted. He wanted to see the breaker I had replaced in the past. He saw some discoloration on the breaker and bus that indicated it had overheated. He cleaned it and moved it to another slot on the bus. He also applied anti-oxidant to prevent potential problems. After testing that his actions had resolved the problem, he offered suggestions for future actions I could take.

This is the second time we have used Guy and his crew. They are top-notch guys. They also gave me pointers on how to troubleshoot and fix problems myself in the future. Best of all they came out on Christmas Eve...before they family arrived into town.

It went very well. Old fixtures need to be removed and new fixture hangs on multiple cables and needed to be level. . They did a very good job. I am very happy with their work

I have worked with numerous trades and contractors throughout a home remodel process and I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Swenson Electric. My direct interaction with Guy, Casey and David was outstanding and I am very happy with the services and the quality of work they provided. Casey and David asked all the right questions and provided professional recommendations about the work performed that was ultimately better than what I had originally envisioned. The team was very good about explaining what was going on along the way and soliciting my input when needed. I have already recommended Swenson Electric to a friend and I will be using them for future electrical needs.
