They were very efficient. They were recommended by a friend of ours. I thought they were a little expensive. They could have been a little lesser. It's like they charged the amount for how long they took. So far the quality of work has been fine. I guess I will find out when it rains. We haven't had much rain since they fixed it. It's too soon to tell if I will use their services again in the future or not.
Description of Work: I used Roofing Consultants of Arizona Inc for my roofing. I last used their services in June. They redid my roof.

I was having general difficulty getting roofers in Arizona to respond to my request for an estimate. Many said it would be 2-3 weeks to visit, and any work would not be started until October. I contacted Roofing Consultants to see if they could move quickly for me. Dan from Roofing Consultants was willing to change his schedule to come over in a few days to give an estimate. The next day I found another roofer who guaranteed completion of the work before the Phoenix monsoons hit. Unfortunately, I forget to cancel the appointment before I left town. Dan was 10 minutes early for the appointment (he called from the locked gate and the message was time/dated). He left and returned later in the day, was able to gain access, and inspected the roof while no one was home as I had instructed. When I called from another city to apologize, he was gracious and courteous. Even knowing i had contracted with another vendor, Dan took the time to give me some tips on handling the roof damage and how to deal with the expected repairs. I cannot speak to the quality of work at his company, but i was impressed with Dan's professionalism.
Description of Work: I needed major repairs/replacement to my flat foam roof (with ceramic tiles on part of the roof).

I could not have been more pleased with the entire process. The person (Dan) who came out to do the estimate was knowledgeable, polite, and very professional, and he responded promptly to all my questions about the types of roofing materials available and different tile colors. The job foreman (Fred) was also outstanding, as were all the men on his crew. Everyone was polite and respectful, and it was obvious they all took pride in their work. I was expecting the process to be a nightmare- but it turned out to be a totally positive experience. My new roof is beautiful, and best of all- it doesn't leak!
Description of Work: I had the roof replaced on my home. This included removing the existing wood shake roof, replacing the skylights, and replacing the roof over the patio. The new roof is Eagle Light Weight Concrete Tile.

Roofing Consultants of Arizona cut no corners in their work. They accurately predicted the work to be done, set the time-table up, and the crews showed as expected. Furthermore, the scheduling to make the different crews show up ready to work is much more difficult than people give credit for. Each crew knew exactly the scope of their portion, as well as how they fit into the plan. A supervisor came numerous times to ensure both workers and customer (me) were taken care of. I can't imagine anybody being able to do a more thorough and efficient job.

Everything worked well. The appointment was made and kept on time. Since there was no damage to the roof, Dan came and went with no charge to us; just a recommendation to have the AC coils checked for hail damage.
Description of Work: A hail storm hit our area about six weeks ago. Many of our neighbors are now replacing roofs and roof air conditioners. At least two other roofers working the neighborhood had stopped to inform us that they could see from the ground that our roof was damaged and could they give us an estimate. Roofing Consultants of Arizona had replaced our roof in 2003, so I called their office and asked for an inspection. The receptionist told me that Dan Schroff would call and make an appointment to check the roof. Dan called that same day, made an appointment, and arrived on time the day of the appointment. He went up to the roof and checked it. He said the roof needed no work done on it. He did comment that the air conditioning coils had suffered a few nicks from the storm and recommended that we have it checked. We thanked him for the recommendation, and he left. There was no charge for the visit.

Representative was punctual but arrogant, failed to do a complete inspection. He asked ME what size the skylights are and (after going onto the roof) did not realize that there were two skylights, not one. Bid did not include UV protective skylights as requrested. Failed to identify roof drainage problem mentioned by others. He said it would be "at least four months" before they could get to me. Price higher than other bids. I did not use them and would not use them in the future

Due to recent hail storms the appointment was several weeks out. Somewhat understandable but a number of other roofers were able to come out sooner including one who came out the very next day. Dan was professional during the call. After collecting estimates from other more responsive roofers I chose one to do the work. I then called Dan to cancel the estimate scheduled for the next day. He was very rude on the phone, going on about how dis-respectful I was because he had appointments all lined up and how would I feel, blah, blah, blah. I mentioned that I would have appreciated being told, saving me a trip. If this is how he treats potential customers I'm glad to have no further contact.

Installed foam coating over entire flat portion of our roof area. Poor initial work caused leaks over the kitchen and dining areas of the house. Original work crew was fired and much of the initial work was redone by a new crew. New crew was better but subsequently a new roof leak appeared in another area of the house causing damage to the ceiling that had to be repaired. They tried to fix this leak with minor repairs 4 times without success. We had to repair the ceiling 3 times during that time unsuccessfully. They continued to insist that it was not their problem and they made no serious attempt to fix it. We eventually hired another contractor to do the repairs; their work was successful and as a result we were able to finally repair the ceiling for the last time.
Description of Work: Installation of foam over flat portion of our home's roof. Also repaired some old and rotting wood in the existing roof.

Salesman came to give estimate March 30, 2010.. Showed us pictures of problem areas before giving price without our asking. Was unable to start work for one month because very busy. Came promptly when said they were going to come. Would do roof inspections annually at no extra charge. Gave 5 year warranty on labor and materials protecting against leaks. Manufacturer gives 10 year warranty on materials. The only problem we had was getting the waiver of lein. He insisted it wasn't necessary but we insisted we wanted it. After work was completed and final payment was made, he did send the waiver of lein.
Description of Work: Recoated foam roof and an extension put on over new addition of roof to patio. Our house is 2500 sq. ft and the patio is an additonal 200 sq. ft. They removed all loose debri, repaired blisters by cutting out and refoaming, cut out vents and replaced new with screening,. Put on 2 coats of coating. Took pictures before and after to show work completed.

Dale is honest and provides true customer service. His company and employees provides excellent work. Keep up the good work Dale
Description of Work: Three years ago when we bought the house we used this company to perform a roof inspection. A few small repairs were made costing approximately $700. Dale Nelson the owner came out to perform the inspection as well as educate me on the roof. I was impressed with his honesty and customer service at that time as well as the repairs that were made. Just recently we noticed some cracking and possible moisture spots on our patio ceilling and before doing any work wanted to make sure that we had no roof leaks. Made an appointment with Dale for Saturday morning. Dale called me that morning to let me know he was on his way. When he arrived he looked at the concerned area and assured me that there was no problems with the tile roof. We also went up the ladder and checked out the flat roof areas in the front of the house. He advised in the next 2 to 3 years that the flat roof areas would need to be replaced due to normal wear and tear. I was aware of this from our first inspection when we bought the house 3 years ago. He also advised the proper way to replace it as well as having him come out and check it in another year.

Everyone we dealt with was friendly, on time and professional. They were not the lowest bid, but they seemed the most professional to us and the difference in price was not too much. The work was done as scheduled in Dec 2008 by a crew large enough to get it done quickly. They recommended an annual inspection which I just had done last week (Dec 2009). Roberto came out to take a look and found that some of the stucco which abutted the new roofing material had gone "soft". We talked about the probable causes and I mentioned that the home was 25 years old and the stucco was not soft a year earlier when the roof was repaired. Roberto agreed and took some pictures back to his boss to see what could be done. Within 3 days a new crew was dispatched to repair the stucco and redo the roofing that abutted it. They took full responsibility for the repair and did not charge me a thing. I was thinking I would have to get a 2nd opinion and go through a big hassle just to understand what was wrong and if it was Roofing Consultants of AZ that was responsible. It was a real pleasure to have a company stand behind their work with no whining, finger pointing or hassle what-so-ever. A pretty rare experience these days. Now I'm feeling sheepish I didn't write a positive report last year when the work was first done, so I'm making up for it now.

They did an outstanding job! They were very professional, started and finished when they said they would, and the quality appears to be outstanding. They honored every request I had. Every person from the super intendant to the roofers were all just great! The sales rep did a great job of letting me know what they planned on doing. I got 5 estimates, and theirs was not only the most reasonable, but I was impressed with their level of service and knew I would be getting quality work. I think I have a beautiful roof now!

After reading up on roofing and writing up a checklist of what I wanted, I contacted six different roofers and chose Roofing Consultants, which placed in the middle of the price range. I chose them because the estimator took seriously my checklist (some of the roofers seemed more intent on steering me towards what they wanted) and because it seemed that I was getting the most value for my money. The new roof started a week or two after I made my decision. The tear-down was rapid with a large team of workers. The construction of the new roof took a few days after that, with the number of workers dwindling as the roof neared completion. I talked to a supervisor at the beginning about my needs and concerns, and he seemed responsive. I also talked to workers when I wanted something done, like smoothing out the vinyl fascia that they had warped, and they were always eager to please me. The final inspection led to more workers returning and fixing aspects of the roof that were imperfect, like bubbles in the foam roof and paint that disfigured some shingles. The roof itself looks great, and the new attic ventilation will make a difference in the Arizona summer. I do wish that the roofers had been more careful with the fascia and that they had done the job right the first time rather than having to return to correct their mistakes, but all in all, a good job.
Description of Work: Replaced leaking asphalt-shingle roof with 30-year dimensional shingles and ridgeline shingles, replaced flat roof on Arizona room with foam roof, replaced fiberglass skylights with low-E clear skylights, replaced old roof pipe jacks and T-top vents, replaced gutters, cut holes for five new dormer vents and painted all new vents to match the shingles, installed new drip edge, flashed rotted area around electrical standard.

The old shingles, which were 15-year shingles, were the original on a 25-year-old house. No leaks, but my wife and I decided we might be pushing our luck. Rotted section of decking was visible in eaves along the garage. After fixing leaks years ago, I decided not to change anything on roof until we got new shingles. That was why solar collector, TV antenna and supports were still on roof. Roofing Consultants did next door neighbor last year, and neighbor was quite pleased so I set up an estimate. Estimator was a bit early, which was no problem. Estimate was in the middle of three I got for 30-year shingles. No deposit was required; got bill after final inspection. Work was scheduled to start in two weeks. I was told crew would arrive between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. on a Wednesday to start removing the things on roof. They showed up at 8 a.m. and were finished by 11 a.m. They cleaned up and hauled the old stuff away. Roofer then started installing new shingles and finished by noon on Friday. Final inspection was following Tuesday. Bill was for the amount of the estimate. New roof looks great.
Description of Work: Removed old shingles down to decking, removed unused solar collector, TV antenna, and assorted supports, replaced rotted section of decking, painted new decking and trim, replaced flashing on chimney and other vents on roof, installed new shingles and replaced aging skylight.

I am very happy with the job and the roof looks great. There were no surprises and the final bill was exactly the same as the estimate. The estimator (Dan Schroff) arrived punctually and explained exactly what they would do, answering all my questions in the process. (I received estimates from three other companies as well, and Roofing Consultants was toward the lower end.) Once I accepted the estimate, the Roofing Consultants promptly scheduled the work, arrived on time and did the job within the time frame they indicated. Everyone was courteous and respectful. During the course of the work I noticed that they had not replaced the flashing around the chimney. I pointed this out to one of the workmen and it was quickly corrected. I inspected the work after they were done and found no problems. The work was also inspected by someone from Roofing Consultants, who actually did find a couple of minor problems and had them fixed. It has now rained a couple of time since the work was completed, and I have found no leaks. The only quibble I have is that I occasionally find nails or bits of plastic that were missed during the clean up. Overall the clean up was excellent, just not perfect. In sum, I would definitely hire this company again and have already recommended them to friends.
Description of Work: Removed the existing roof down to the wood decking. Inspected decking and replaced rotted boards. Installed a new base sheet, new flashing and new 30-year fiberglass laminated shingles with a different type of roofing on the low-slope areas. Replaced two turbine vents with dormer vents. Painted these two vents and all existing vents to match the roof color.

Estimator came on time and seemed very knowledgeable about our particular problem. He worked with us to show us what and how the water damage was occurring and how it could be fixed. They weren't the cheapest, but we went with them because they seemed the most credible. They were able to schedule the work the days we asked for, which was important because we needed to sequence this work with replacement of the damaged trim by another contractor. We've had some rain since then and the trim seems to be holding up well. Their crew was generally prompt, but their supervisor took a little more time than he said to come by and check out the work.
Description of Work: The roof was replaced on our house about 5 years ago. In the front of the house the new shingles had not been installed properly, and water was seeping off the roof onto the soffit board. The soffit board would then peel, expand and eventually separate from the house. We'd already spend about $2,500 replacing the soffit board before realizing the board was not the cause of the problem. We knew it would be difficult for the roofing contractor to pinpoint the exact cause of the problem on the first try, so we asked several contractors to look at the job and give us their opinions and proposals before we proceeded. Roofing Consultants seemed the most knowledgeable and credible when determining the cause of the problem and the best fix. They removed the first courses of shingles and replaced them and the underlayment.

Finally, after living with a roof that had supposedly been "ficed" by another company (who proved unresponsive despite numerous attempts and a 5 year guarantee), a roofing company that not only meets but BEATS all expectations. I joined Angie's List specifically to find a reliable roofing company. And I was more than pleasantly surprised. To quote the job, one of the co-owner's not only showed up WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD (a minor miracle in Phoenix) but took detailed pictures of the existing problems with the roof so he could explain what and why the company proposed doing what they were doing. An estimate was faxed and quickly signed and returned. Roofing Consultants employees showed up on the day they were supposed to and were extremely courteous and professional. The other co-owner came out to check to progress of the job (which lasted 4 days), even though there was always a supervisor on site. Each evening, any debris from the day's work was thoroughly cleaned up. After the job was completed, a co-owner of the company came out to double-check that all work was done correctly. He had one of his workers come back the next day to take care of some chalking and tile placement above and beyond the work for which they were contracted. This is a GEM of a company that really cares about customer service, as well as customer safety. I would refer this organization to anyone at anytime. They did a fabulous job, were easy to work with AND did what they said they were going to do, even going the extra step to take care of some areas that had been mishandled by the other company we unfortunately originally did the work. If you need a roof, these are the folks to call! They are worth every penny and then some.
Description of Work: Remove existing tiles in designated areas; remove underlayment to bare deck; replace any plywood or fascia board required; install fiberglass base sheet and mineral surface 90 lb. underlayment; new metal flashing in required areas); dry in jacks as needed; surface vent flashing and new wood battens. Reinstall roof tiles to specifications; replace broken tiles and move any off-color tiles where they would not be visible; clean area and haul away all roofing debris
