This was a fantastic experience. Bud answered the phone on my first call, and scheduled an appointment for one week later. I didn't get an email confirming the date and time, but who knows what could have happened there, regardless, Bob showed up at 8am, ready to go, and got right to work. Bob asked lots of questions about what I was wanting, how I wanted it done, and making sure he understood why I was doing it and what we needed. The only point of confusion came in that I was expecting 4 110V outlets, and 1 switch, but because I have a tendency to anticipate questions/comments, Bob thought I meant 4 pair of outlets like you see on the wall normally. Suffice to say, I was happy with that mistake, and Bob easily adapted when I asked to put in an extra switch to accommodate the change. I was charged a little more than I was quoted over the phone, but they said it was because of the more expensive circuit breakers. I have no reason to doubt them on it, especially since Bud had to bring them out to us as Bob did not have them. Needless to say, I was happy with the price, the service and the professionalism. I will gladly use Neely again when I need more electrical work.
Description of Work: We added two 220V 20Amp outlets, 8 110V outlets, and two switches to control 2 outlets each.

Mr. Neely is very professional. He explained everything he was doing, and was very personable. The work was top notch, and he even threw in some extras for free. I would refer him to anyone needing anything electrical done!
Description of Work: Mr. Neely moved an electrical outlet in our garage, hard-wired a small chandelier in our master bathroom, re-installed two pendant lights in our kitchen that were previously installed incorrectly, and installed a ceiling fan in our family room on a vaulted ceiling that was at an extreme angle.

Bud is one of the best, BEST EVER service providers I've ever worked with. Very throughout, very clean, very professional. He came out, gave me a great quote and scheduled the work for a week later. He was at my house at 12:55 (appointment was for 1) and went right to work. He showed me exactly what he was going to be doing and did it. I had to run to my other place he said no problem, said would even let the AC guy know. Explained every step of his process. Was very personable, wanted to get to know me, joked about getting married/being married. Just an all around great guy. I would invite him to dinner great guy. Everything works just as he said. Not only did he do the work I needed, he went above and beyond. (Replaced 4 breakers, replace electrical pipe, moved sprinkler box, added junction box in the attic). Did I mention the extra stuff he just threw in. He is great electrician by trade, and I will absolutely use him for anything else I have!
Description of Work: Added 3 outlets in side, added 3 to patio, updated breaker box, other misc items

The whole process went very smoothly. Since this was a rental property, Bud dealt with the tenant, quickly fixed the problem with minimal disruption, and then just billed me. I never had to show up.
Description of Work: Bud replaced a circuit breaker in the panel that had gone bad and wouldn't reset. He then checked the rest of the wires in the panel and tightened some loose connections.

Mr Neely responded to our inquiry for a price estimate by meeting us at our home on a Saturday. Awesome! He proivded a written estimate via email later that day. His price was excellent, unfortunatley, the depth of electrical work our 1930's home needed was out of his scope due to the excessive grinding the walls would need. We will certainly use him inth future for normal electrical needs.!

Mr. Neely was everything one would want in an electrician. I would use him again when the need arises.
Description of Work: I was getting only 10-11 volts at the outlet under the meter, but needed 220 volts to power the A/C. Mr. Neely diagnosed the problem as a stuck breaker, and restored it to proper function. He also answered several questions I had about the electrical on this old home, giving sound advice that saved me many $$.

Everything was done to specification, completed on time and under budget. I'd definitely use this team again.
Description of Work: Neely Electric fixed items related to a pre-sale house inspection. They also upgraded an old Edison-style fuse box to a modern fuse box. While they were there, the exterminator found chewed wires in the attic from rodent, and the Neely crew expanded the scope of work to include these items.

I contacted at least 2 electricians on Angie's List who wanted to make appointments days away... But when I reached Bud Neely, he seemed genuinely interested in helping me resolve the issue immediately. My tenants were having their power go out for a few seconds, and back again... not good! No one knew what was going on, but it sounded dangerous. In addition, I was out of town... Bud Neely was amazingly professional and helpful, he coordinated with the tenants and the power company (SRP) on multiple trips until he figured out the problem and could fix it. I was only charged for the last trip when he actually made the repairs... and the invoice was more than fair. I was regularly updated by phone, Bud explained everything clearly and I approved the repairs. Without having met Bud, I could tell he was knowledgeable and trustworthy, and knew I would call him whenever I needed an electrician in the future. I have since, and would not think of calling anyone else. Bud's experience, service, professionalism and prices are nothing short of amazing.
Description of Work: Troubled-shooted an issue with intermittent power surges at my rental house. Coordinated with the power company to test the panel's proper functioning, found the problem and made the necessary repairs.

a) I bought the undermount lighting for my kitchen cabinets from home depot (4 in total). I could have mounted them and plugged them into my kitchen outlets by myself but I wanted to direct wire them. 3 of the lights went on one side of the stove and were wired into one outlet, and the 4th went on the other side of the stove and plugged into another outlet. The work involved mounting the lights in place, connecting both sets of lights to the respective wall outlets and replacing the first outlet with a bigger junction box that could include a switch as well. b) I have a recessed wall in my family room where we have hung a friend's artwork. Because of the recessed walls the lighting was a little weak. I wanted to add a focus lighting in the ceiling with a wall switch/outlet. Bud did a great job of drilling the hole in the ceiling, putting the light fixture in, cutting into the drywall for the wall panel, wiring the two to each other and also to another nearby light switch that provided the live wire, adding the junction box with an outlet and switch, and cleaning up afterward. Bud had quoted $270 for these two jobs and Bob and he completed them inside two hours, probably sooner than he had expected to. I guess the ability to power the circuit from the adjacent light switch made things easier/quicker. c) I wanted to add a outlet/switch in the upstairs loft (where I have a set of cabinets above a work desk). The work involved pulling wiring down a wall from my attic, cutting into the drywall and installing the outlet/switch panel, and adding an external junction box for the cabinet top lighting (which I told him i'd fix myself at a later date. He quoted $80 for the job, but it took longer than expected, as getting the wire down from the attic was a lot tougher and took some time. I suspect he thought he'd take an hour but ended up taking almost 2 to complete the job. He still stuck to his quote though. Overall great job. Nothing to complain about. I have found my electrician for all my future jobs.
Description of Work: 1) Installed under cabinet lighting in kitchen including direct wiring. 2) Installed focus lighting above art work in living room and added new outlet along with light switch 3) Installed new outlet and junction box for future lighting fixture in loft. Bud gave me an estimate for the first two jobs upfront. He complete them in quick time so we had time for the third job. He gave me an estimate for it. The job took longer than expected but he stuck to his initial quote. Bob and Bud's work was generally quite good. They were on time, knew their job well and worked efficiently. The reason for the 'B' in professionalism (maybe it ought to have gone for quality) is that when pulling out the old junction box for the kitchen lighting Bob pulled out a bit of dry wall. I didn't ask them to fix it because I know how to and planned to add a backsplash anyway which would cover it up, but I thought they ought to have offered to fix it (which they didn't). Perhaps I'm being picky here and it isn't part of an electrician's job description.

I had a really old "all in one" range, oven, microwave and vent" unit that needed to be replaced with a new range/oven and a vent fan. The new range/oven frame would not allow it to be placed back against the wall because of the location of the 220V outlet. Also, there was no electrical connection available to connect a new vent fan. I called Neely Electric to ask for help in determining if there was a way to get a circuit to the vent fan and also if the 220V outlet could be relocated and if so, provide an estimate for the work that would need to be done. When I first called I was taken to voice mail and I left a message with a brief description of what I was calling about and requested a call back. Bud returned my call within a very short time and we scheduled a mutually agreeable time to look at the problem. Bud showed up at the scheduled appointment time and then provided an explanation of the work that could be done and the estimated cost of doing it ($140). He explained that the estimate was based on the amount of time necessary to accomplish the work and the component parts costs. I accepted the proposal and agreed to schedule the work via a phone call, after Bud had a chance to coordinate the project with Bob, who would be doing the work. Bob arrived at the scheduled appointment time, accomplished the agreed upon work, cleaned up the site after he was finished and the cost was $145 dollars. Bud and Bob were pleasant to work with, experienced and efficient. I would recommend them and will use them again if I need any further electrical work done.

Bud went above and beyond in addressing our concerns, and was just a pleasure to have in our home for a couple of hours. Professionally, he was prompt, courteous, competitively priced and knowledgable - we will be using Neely Electric for ALL our future electrical needs!
Description of Work: Bud came out to help resolve some electrical issues from our recent home inspection (GFCI's improperly wired, for example) and inspect some lighting issues we were having in the kitchen with bulbs and dimmer switches (separate issues). In addition, he uncovered a couple of other issues that we weren't aware of related to other GFCI's.

I called Neely Electrical Services on Thursday, 11/10/11 at 9am. Bud Neely came out to my house later that afternoon. He looked over the project/ job and stated he would work on it early next week. I rec'd a call later that evening stating he and his partner would be coming on Monday, 11/14/11 at 9am to do the work. They finished the job and it was exactly how we expected and more. Bud is very personable, professional and can be trusted to do the job right and for a reasonable price. I will use Neely Electrical Services again and refer him to my friends.
Description of Work: Bud Neely and Bob installed two much needed electrical outlets on my plant shelves. The work was completed in less than the 3 hours as Mr. Neely estimated. While he was at my house, I asked about another project that was on the my "to do" list. He and his partner agreed they could complete this job also. They installed another electrical outlet in my garage and attic light, too. My husband was surprised and very pleased with the job.

We were having new tile placed in our home. When our rug was pulled up, we have two in-floor outlet plugs that did not look good when our new tiles were laid down. We needed to call an electrician to see if they could give us some options or possible just take out the two outlets in the floor. Our friends did not know anyone that they would recommend. So, our daughter said, "Why don't we try Angie's List. It could hurt." So, we pulled up Angie's List and started to read a little about the company and it's services. We paid out New Membership Fee and started our search. We came across two companies. We decided to go with Neely Electric, LLC because it was over the weekend and we needed someone immediately, due to a fast paced schedule for tiles that were being laid down. Bud answered and was able to schedule something for us first thing Monday morning. His partner Bob came out on Monday morning and proceeded to get to work. His charge was $60 per hour, this also included travel time one-way. He was able to terminate the floor outlets and change out the bad 15 amp circuit breaker all within 30 minutes. Bob has been an electrician since 1971 and is very knowledgeable about his work. He is friendly and professional. We would recommend Neely Electric, LLC for anyone in need of ANY TYPE of electrical problems.
Description of Work: Bob capped off two electrical floor outlet plugs in order to install new tile. We were no longer in need of the floor outlets. We also had Bob change out one 15 amp circuit breaker that was bad.

When I called Neeley Electric and they made arrangements to come out the very next day even thought it was a Sunday. I think it was Bob that came out. I have an older home (built in 1955) and he was very knowledgeable about the older wiring. He quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. What I really appreciated though was that he didn't try to sell or push me into any unnecessary repairs. I will definitely use Neeley Electric again in the future.

We purchased this house over the internet from our house in Houston. The inspection report showed that there were some electrical items that needed attention, and we wanted security lights, attic light and ceiling fans installed. I contacted Bud Neely by phone, told him what we wanted to accomplish and scheduled an appointment. Bud called in advance, showed up when promised and went straight to work. He and a helper, Bob, did everything we asked quickly, professionally and displayed an immense sense of humor. When we return in February, we're definitely calling Bud back to install some additional electrical items.

Called Neely Electric, and Bud came to the house the next day. He was very knowledgeable and professional. He asked good questions about what I wanted to accomplish and gave me a few options and a cost estimate. He answered all my questions. I called him back the next day and schedule the work for the following Monday. He worked with his partner (Bob), and they were both very friendly and efficient. He came one day and sized up the problem, gave us purchasing advice for a fan and removed a fixture to extract an unusal part which we needed to get a replacement for. He came back when we had the fan and the odd part and quickly completed the job.
Description of Work: Several light fixtures had problems with faulty or unreliable sockets and we had a fan installed. Bob was very fair and professional and did the work quickly and with good quality.
