The gentleman was very thorough and knowledgeable. He inspected my yard and existing plants and prepared a plan. He followed up several times and also showed me the plants and items he was recommending at the nursery. I have not been able to afford all the work he recommended, at this time. But I love his plan!

I called them to make an appointment and they said it would be up to a week for anyone to call me back to make an appointment. When I asked about the time frame they provided they said they were extremely busy because of so many Deals purchased, which is understandable. It has been not only a week, however, but a month and a week and have yet to hear from the company at all. They may do good work, but if it takes them this long to get back to me, I would rather go with another company than risk further issues down the road.

This was my first use of Angles List. I have not received anything from Harper's but aggravation. I can't say anything good about the experience. I wonder why they offered a coupon for design services if they did not want to do the work? I received one visit from a sloppily dressed man in early October. He took measurements of my patio area and left. I have not heard anything further.

Great from initial meeting until Justin presented his landscape plan. We are not in a position to do all of this work at one time but am confident we will have great support when we can afford to implement, little by little.

Overall the service seems good and Mike the designer appears to be very knowledgeable. I'm hoping for a good plan/price so I can work more with this company.

They did the plan and emailed it to me. I had asked for an estimate on what it would cost to carry out the plan, but they never sent that to me.

We've had quite a few delays and its not always easy to reach our designer. But we were happy with the work performed and are looking forward to seeing the actual results.

Their crew came in and implemented the agreed to plan on April 10th. The crew was very professional and the work went smoothly. At the end of the day on the 10th, I indicated I wanted to make some plant changes, called the office and the next morning when the crew arrived, they brought the additional plants and everything was installed by noon on the 11th. They hooked up irrigation to all the plants, took time to walk me through the layout, the care needed for the various plants and cleaned up any mess. The backyard looks absolutely fantastic. I would highly recommend Harper's. The staff was so accommodating and professional from the designer to the folks that did the labor and the plants are just exactly what we were looking for. The whole process could not have gone smoother.

I would not recommend anyone hiring this contractor.

It went very good from the start when the landscape architect, Mike first came out and I showed him what we wanted planted. he came back with a very reasonable estimate and told us we would have a 2 week wait and they were on the job in less than that. It was a 2 day job and they were very neat and the crew was very friendly and helpful especially on the watering part. Mike also explained that the plants had to be where they were to absorb sun since the back of our front yard is always in the shade. he also told us there were plants we could add that did not need sun.

Harper's landscape architect listened to my suggestions for the area and drew up plans accordingly. I did not want anything elaborate and his plans turned out exactly what I wanted. They worked with my busy schedule and started and completed the work in steps -- demolition, laying the groundwork and then completing the project. There was absolutely no mess for me to clean up!! I am so very pleased with the finished area and do not miss the grill at all!!

They were good. They were courteous. They were little slow in responsiveness. I liked the design they had. I’m still gathering information so, haven’t decided yet. I would use them in the future.

I called Harper's to schedule an appointment for yard maintenance and discuss some additional landscaping. The person who answered the phone would not schedule an appointment, saying that someone would call me to schedule the appointment. No one ever called me back.

I was surprised to see in Angie's List magazine and website that they get very good gradings for landscaping. I would not have them again. They overcharged me. It's a local company and they have a place just down the road from where I live. I thought I would get good service from them because they were a local company. They told me that they did their own landscaping when I asked them. When I gave them the work, they sub-contracted the job to somebody else. Harper's misled me. I told them what I wanted and as soon as they got the contract signed, they tried to wriggle out of various details that we wanted them to do. I have so many complaints about them there is no way I would go back to them. Basically, I was ripped off. I certainly will not use them again in the future. Some of the palm trees they put in the back yard died and rather than go back to them, I went to another nursery and got some replacements from them and those are still living. Harper's laid a lawn and didn't even level the ground before they put the grass down. The watering system is inadequate and doesn't work properly. In doing so they destroyed the watering system that I put in. They did as much damage as they could. I came to know that Harper's got an estimate from the sub-contractor for the work they wanted done for me and then they added 30 percent to it. I have got that on the paperwork, so Harper's charged me 30 percent more. I could have gone to the other company in the first place and saved ourselves $10000.00. The construction work that the sub-contractor did was okay. The work that Harper's did was terrible. They put a man in charge to handle the whole project and I suspect now that he was sub-contracted as well although he never said so. I found him on the website and I know that he has his own landscaping business. I was completely dissatisfied by Harper's in 2008. Maybe they have improved since then. My wife was in hospital at the time having an operation and I had too many problems, otherwise I would have reported them to Better Business Bureau and everybody else I could think of.

So-so. We are reasonably satisfied with the result, but would have liked more design options (the rock garden is desert-style, while the rest of our yard is not). The initial design presented did not satsfactorily separate the berm sprinklers from the rest, and the final installation is not really as separate as we would have liked. We had the impression that the designer, while very pleasant and responsive, was not very knowledgeable. The installers were sloppy. They cut our existing garden lines in about 10 places, and filled the trenches without testing and repairing the garden lines first. They also cut and did not immediately repair (or acknowledge the cuts to) our low-voltage lighting lines. When we asked, we were told that repairs would be executed when all construction was complete, which seemed to mean that our gardens were not going to get water for almost two weeks. They said they'd hand-water our existing plants, but clearly weren't doing so. My husband repaired about 8 of the cut lines himself. They did eventually repair the others. They left several emitters off and had to come back twice to add those. They mixed mortar directly on the lawn and did not clean up the residue. They reported that they coould not locate a Mexican Redbud tree to replace the one we'd lost. I made one phone call and found one, which they did pick up for us.

Harper's Nursey & Landscape Co is great. They do a great job. They are professional, informative, thorough, and timely.

I had to have all of the irrigation work they did redone by someone else. They did not put in the right kinds of lines, bury it correctly, test the pressure, or install the right heads. I was very new to the area and didn't know a lot of desert landscape. We talked about what I wanted and what look I was going for. I wanted something that would add color and grow along a wall. What they planted are basically bushes that don't flower and just grow every which way. I had another landscaper out who told me that the plants are completely wrong for this location.

Harper's designed our landscaping around what WE wanted, not like a lot of landscaping companies who just do variations of the same design over and over again. Harper's listened, advised us well, and then showed up on time and worked cleanly and efficiently until the job was done -- on time and on budget. Then they followed up with us to make sure everything was going well.

We were very pleased with them. My husband dealt with them, and he is happy with them in every aspect. Earlier they have done our backyard which was a big project.

It went great overall. They were professional in providing me with these estimates.

It was perfect. Landscape designer came out and spent considerable time going over what i thougth i wanted, plus shared his own ideas. From that point within several days i recieved a detailed estimate. Price was extremely reasonable. From point of accepting proposal work was done in two days to my satisfaction.

They are very knowledgeable. They are also very clear about their timelines and they stick to them.

It was a good experience. The landscape designer came home at my convenience to discuss my plans. She designed a plan and gave an estimate. She was willing to work with me to alter that design to meet my budget. She told me regarding what work will be done and what I would expect. The job was done very efficiently. The result was very nice.
