Description of Work: It would probably have been slightly less expensive to purchase a garage door opener from a big box store and then schedule the installation, but the convenience of having a service call and replacement of the unit in less than an hour on the same day was worth the extra cost. The service was also done on a Saturday which did not interfere with the work week. schedule.

Description of Work: They arrived late after the end of the period they said they would come by. I was in a hurry to leave and suggested they return another time, but they insisted they could do the repairs quickly. The deal I had purchased via Angie's list ($99 tune up) was not appropriate for the work they needed to do; my garage door had some more serious repairs needed. While I understand the need to pay for the repairs that were not covered under the deal, it turned out that the deal actually covered nothing. I ended up paying for what I purchased via Angie's list PLUS the substantial repairs needed. So in the end it was more expensive than if I would have simply called a repair shop directly. The deal I purchased via Angie's list was simply a waste of money. After they left I discovered they deposited the parts they took off of my garage door -- the greasy springs, wheels etc -- right into my recycling bin. After they left I had to sort out that material from the rest of my recycling that was in my bin. Ideally the metal they remove should be taken to a scrap metal processing plant by Precision. And in the end I had to call them back to fix the door again because it continued to have problems (and even today the door hangs at a slight angle). I would not recommend this company.

Description of Work: Had a new garage door installed November 2013, was told this was the "best" door and luckily we have a 10 year warranty because they have been out twice for the same issue; paid $500 for a new door and the problem still isn't fixed. Was told in May that if it happens again, we will get a new opener, and luckily everything is covered. Really didn't try to figure out the problem. Unfortunately, we will have to use them for at least the next 10 years since its free.

Description of Work: I bought this Angie's Deal because we bought a house a couple years ago and I hadn't even thought to have the garage door serviced. As a precaution, we ordered it and selected three possible appointment times. We never heard from anyone. I contacted Precision and was told there was a glitch and they were very apologetic for not contacting me before then. | |Then, two days before our scheduled appointment, our spring broke on the garage door and we had to have that fixed through our home warranty company. Then, I rescheduled with Precision for the maintenance. The came and serviced the door, and provided a list of items that needed to be replaced, including the door spring. This concerned me, because we had just had the spring replaced two days ago and it looks like a brand new part. | |In the end, I think Precision did what they were supposed to do in providing maintenance for the door. The fact that they said I needed a new spring left me a bit uneasy and unsure about how honest they were being, but given all the great reviews they have and the fact that they were responsive, respectful, and punctual makes me think this was just some anomaly. Overall, I'm satisfied with the work they performed and the garage door is very quite now and seems to operate more smoothly.

Description of Work: Our garage door stopped working and could not be released to work manually one evening. The company sent a service provider out first thing the next day. He was able to replace several parts and restore the door to working order quickly. It works significantly better now than it did the entire 4 years before that. The service provider was friendly and helpful.
