There is something very shady and suspicious about a company that refuses to talk, interact, call back, or even see their customers. I could not be more disappointed and could not issue a more strong warning than to stay away from this company.
Description of Work: Was scheduled to service AC by home warranty. This company never calls you back, you cannot speak to a real person. All calls go to an answering service. Then after 6 calls they finally call to schedule, only to cancel an hour after they were supposed to be there.

We have used them several times and they have been good. We got a mail flyer. They seem professional and experienced. They came out and refilled the coolant which was a little pricey but I think it is always a little pricey when we get that done.

Servicemen identified the problem and repaired in a professional and timely manner. Repaired were two Freon leaks and 9lbs of Freon was added. Servicemen vacuumed area worked when repairs were completed. Good work.
Description of Work: Blower worked but A/C was not putting out any cold air. Home warranty company dispatched provider for service. A/C is a Split level A/C in condo with part of A/C unit in laundry room and A/C compressor on the building roof.

AWFUL. I called them multiple times to schedule and re-schedule appointment times. They would commit a time to come, and never arrive until the next day. They sent 4 different people to fix the same problem. The compressor was replaced, and the expansion valve was replaced twice. Terrible attitude on the phone. After missing yet another appointment time, I called them and said "you promised your guy would be here", and the response from the woman I was talking to was "meh, promises, promises" and then she laughed! Another time, the dispatch person told me that the part they were waiting for had not yet arrived. I asked him to check, and he came back and said - "no, just called the supplier, definitely not yet arrived, they committed for the part to arrive tomorrow by 11am". 30 mins later another guy in dispatch called and said "we got the part today, we'll be out first thing" On about the 12th call to them, the guy in dispatch (we were on first name basis by now) asked me for my phone number so he could call me back. I said "no, I have given you my number 10 times before and you have never called me back, plus it is on the initial call sheet". Then he yelled at me "I'm just asking you for your phone number" and then hung up on me. I will NEVER use these guys again. Just an appalling experience all round. DON'T GO NEAR THEM.
Description of Work: This was a repair through Home Warranty company, and they allocated Higginbotham to repair the aircon unit. What a cluster. It took them 9 visits and 5 weeks to totally repair the unit, and it is a standard aircon unit that serviced the upstairs in my house.

Our home warranty company sent this company to service our non-working air conditioner unit in the Phoenix area during the heat of early September. The first day the technician showed up an hour and a half late from our appointment time frame. The repairman was here for an approximate of 30 minutes and said he was not trained to diagnos the problem. He left and said to expect a call in five minutes to schedule for the next day for another technician. No call from the scheduler that night, we called and they were closed. We called in the morning and were given an appointment time slot of all day so had to stay home yet another day from work. The second technician arrived only 15 minutes late after the latest appointment time and said he needed to order a part, someone would call to schedule. No call back. We called them and they said they had no idea how to find this motherboard off a Carrier air handler, neither did the owner. Sarah proceeded to tell us she had other things to do, and we could try to find it ourselves. At this point, we called our regular service technician on Thursday, he was able to diagnos and have the part located in Gilbert within a half hour. Because of our warranty company, we called Higgenbotham back and gave them the location and the part number in Gilbert so we could get the unit fixed. They took the part info and said they would call back with an appointment time for the next day.. No call back. We called our warranty company Thursday night and since our unit was broken since Sunday they authorized our regular company to repair. The other company came the next morning and fixed the unit. Higginbotham finally called Friday late morning and said their first available appointment was Monday which meant our unit would be down over a week. Fortunately by this time the unit was fixed by our regular reliable and prompt company and we did not have to be off a 3rd complete day from work! Our regular service technician took less than 24 hours to diagnos and repair! What an incredible lack of response and coordination by Higginbotham! Whether this was due to being a warranty company job or not, this is unacceptable!
Description of Work: Our air conditioner unit stopped on Sunday of Labor day weekend. We notified our home warranty company and they dispatched our request to Higgenbotham. No services were performed, only diagnosis and delays in repairs and extremely poor customer service and poor responsiveness.

Iwas also forced to use this company through my home warranty company. The tech failed to arrive in the 8-12 window, and when I followed up, I was told it would be no later than 4pm. at 4;15 I followed up a second time, and dealt with the worst customer service I have ever dealt with in a very long time. I would suggest everyone avoid this company, if you are a home warranty order, ask for another company!!!! On a good note the tech was nice and seemed like he knew what he was doing.
Description of Work: I was having problems with my AC not turning on and taking hours to cool my house.

I will take any chance I get to tell anyone I can not to use Higginbothom & Son. I'll post it on Facebook, plaster it on Angie's List. Heck, if I'm at a red light, I'll roll down my window and tell the person next to me what a poor excuse for a company these guys are.If I could give Higginbotham & Son no stars I would. I was forced to use them through my home warranty company and the experience, all around, from start to finish was awful. 1) They were impossible to get through to. The 24/7 service advertised is nothing more than an answering service after hours. 2) The folks in the office flat out lie (actually, I'm quite sure they simply pass on lies) but they promise to call back and don't, schedule appointments that aren't kept and don't return calls. 3) Technicians simply fail to show up--god help you if you take time off of work hoping to deal with these folks 4) If you are not paying for an "emergency" visit, you will be moved to the back of the service line each time someone else does. It can take weeks to be serviced. All in all, Higgibotham just caused me so much frustration and time and wasted energy that I'd tell anyone not to use them. There are so many other companies to choose from. I really don't recommend this. And wish I could take back even the one star at I had to give them. Horrible.
