Description of Work: Unlike this review submission, John Marenghi was not delinquent in responding to our 04192016 issue. We had lost power in the den and a check of the circuit breakers did not yield any answers. We were concerned there was an electrical short which could potentially result in a fire. Another company was contacted; however, they did not share our concern of a potential fire issue so the best they could do was schedule us a week later. This was unacceptable. When John was contacted, he had a full schedule and did not believe we had a fire issue; however, he made the effort to make time in his day to assess what was the issue. It turned out to be a faulty GFCI which he replaced. In addition, he identified the original receptacle was not appropriate for the interior of the house. He checked the outside receptacle directly opposite the interior one only to discover the receptacles should have been installed in reverse order. (The ground fault receptacle should have been on the exterior, not the interior of the house.) John installed the proper exterior receptacle as well.

 + -1 moreJohn arrived on time. He probed the wiring to check for any problems. He checked out the fluorescent fixture in the bathroom sink overhead. The fixture was recessed and hard to get to. It was faulty. He replaced it with a new 2 LED light panel. It is so much better. I really like it. I shall surely call John again with any electrical problems that occur.
Description of Work: Troubleshoot wiring. Install a 2 light LED system to replace fluorescent light which was faulty.

 + 1 moreFlawlessly perfect. I was able to take his phone instructions and complete my ceiling fan installation in five minutes - after trying for a solid 3 hours on my own and giving up. He figured out there was an unnecessary wire from the previous fan installation and walked me through getting the built-in remote successfully paired and powering the fan/lights.
Description of Work: John listened to what I needed - and more importantly, what I had already done - and said he could probably simply walk me through troubleshooting over the phone without the need for a service call. And he did! His instructions were perfectly spot on and I had my issue fixed in 5 minutes.

I chose John because I felt comfortable with him, he explained the quote in detail and he understood what I wanted. During construction, his crew was always on time (often on the job site before I arrived). They were extremely pleasant, courteous, and professional. They were punctual and had a can do attitude when it came to a challenging installation of a ceiling fan. The installation was on a 24 ft ceiling and they could have told me that they didn't have time, but instead they went and rented a large ladder & got it done. I will DEFINITELY use them again!!!

 + -1 moreI called John at 7 a.m. Friday morning and he was able to work me into his schedule by 11 a.m. I sent him a picture via text that my A/C guy had taken of the bad switch and John sourced a better, higher quality switch very quickly and installed it in an hour. My A/C back up and running! I was looking for a good electrician and I found one. John is a very nice guy and you can tell that he is focused on quality outcomes. I will use him for anything with a current in the future.

Before he started work he masked off and put down plastic drop cloths over EVERYTHING. His work was excellent as is his price, I have already recommedded him to several friends and neighbors and will be calling him back soon for another project. I can't say enough good things about him and his work, way to go John!

 + 1 moreI made the appointment because none of my landscape lights were working, and I had a couple of outlets that were also not working. I also wanted to install a security light outside. As it turned out, all the problem were minor and Travis was able to resolve them very easily. So while here he installed a number of light bulbs for me - one in a landscape light that was extraordinarily hard to get open. He advised on the security lighting and on another item for security. He was very professional and helpful, as well as patient. Unfortunately, the store did not have the security light I wanted, so I will have to have him back to do that. Good company to work with.
Description of Work: Checked various outlets for power; resolved problem with power to landscape lights; changed multiple bulbs and advised on security lighting.

Description of Work: Electricity was out in part of our house. We reset the all of the GFIs in our house and reset all the breakers but we couldn't get the electricity to come back on. He offered to go buy new Security lights that were shot and came back and installed them. All this done in the span of four hours. I left for work on time. Description of Work: John Marenghi from 'Castle' Electrical and Lighting arrived on time at 8am Monday. John had to move two electrical lines in the garage to the ceiling so as to not interfere with new garage to be installed. Also two motion security lights on east and west corners of my house were not working properly. John went out and bought two new lights and installed them. They now work like a charm! John worked efficiently and was done in time for me to go to work at noon. All the work was done very well, cleaned up after and I am very please with his work ethic and professional manner and a very pleasant person to work with.
