ceiling looks great. new door seals ..not so great, after a few days day light is blazing thru and water leaks at door threshold in garage so I replaced it with a new one. Other work was fine but disappointed with door seals and thresholds.

I called By The Hour, based on the reviews I had read on Angie's List. We needed just a small repair in our home, but it needed to be done rather quickly. Jim Flynn was so professional and he accomodated our last-minute scheduling needs. He did the work perfectly and was very knowledgable and polite. I am so grateful to have come across this Handyman Service and we will be using them again.

They were fine. Liked their timeliness and they were very prompt.

Jim arrived on the same day and made requested repairs to the front door threshold. He did quality work and charged less than I was expecting.

Everything went smoothly and we are happy with the results.

First I want to start off by saying that James and Doug were very nice people. I initially hired and quot;By the hourand quot; to install interior french doors and build the wall up for the doors to fit. James did a great job with the initial part of the job building the wall up and installing the french glass doors. He came back the next day to install the casing and do the painting. Since he did such a great job on installing the doors, I asked him if he had time to do some other small jobs for me. He said yes. After the days work I was so excited to find someone that did such a quality job. Well...I spoke too soon. The doors still needed to be painted and casing needed to be caulked. He said he would let me know when he had time to come back to finish the job but he never called so I called him to set up a time. A couple days later he came back to paint the doors, caulk, and do some other small jobs I had asked him to do. By the end of the day he didn't have time to do the caulking on the casing. I really didn't want to do it myself but he seemed like he was in such a hurry and was so busy. I felt bad so I told him that i guess I could do it myself (to this day I never did). The third day he came back, He spray painted the front door (one side of it) and got over spray all over the front part. I had to sand it off and repaint the front. I had so many jobs that needed to be done that I just put up with the poor workmanship because I was desperate to get these jobs done. I am a single woman who is normally really strong and normally I stand up to everyone and everything, however for some reason I let him get away with doing average to below average work on the all the small jobs just because I was desperate to get the tasks off my and quot; to do listand quot;. I figured he didn't charge a lot for the work and I sure didn't have the time or energy to do it myself so I didn't and quot;rock the boatand quot; and complain. The third day he came over, It seemed like he was fitting me in in-between jobs because he would come for an hour then leave and come back a couple hours later then say he was done for the day even though the project wasn't finished. I had no problem paying for additional hours but he didn't have time to finish so I didn't push it and decided just to finish the job myself. I am upset about is the small job I gave him to fix the cracked grout in one of my kitchen tiles. When he removed the tile, he broke the first tile and cracked the second tile so he glued it together. He re-grouted the tile and two weeks later it all cracked again...worse then it has ever looked. I never called him back to redo the grout because he was trying to sell his business and figured he would never have time to fit me in. I had taken way too much time off work already. I look at the uncaulked door trim and cracked grout in my kitchen tile everyday and say to myself...and quot;you get what you pay forand quot;. Lesson learned.

They were good in all aspects. Everything that they said they were going to do, they did. It took slightly longer than normal but I don't think that is their fault. They were professional. I didn't compare prices so I can't say about their price but I could have probably got it cheaper.

He was excellent, and he quickly responded to an urgent matter for me. The cost was not very high. He did not charge me that day. He came back another day for other things and then charged me, but it was very reasonable. What stood out to me was his willingness to come quickly for something like that, and he was very polite, a kind person, and very knowledgeable.

I hired By the Hour, Jim Flynn, to remodel a home I purchased, beginning with interior paint and hardwood floor installation. In spite of two helpers who failed to show up on time or made serious mistakes doing the work Jim assgined them, the work eventually got done, even with two other huge jobs Jim had. Jim made good on his helpers' mistakes and worked hard to insure that the remodeling and renovation work was perfect...not just satisfactory. He finally found a good helper, and rapidly finished the remaining work. I was most impressed with how Jim treats his customers. His first two helpers really slowed his progress, but he insisted on makng good on everything and doing the work to the highest quality...meaning he had to do most of the work himself. We had some glitches that delayed the job, such as a couple of special orders delivered that did not meet the specs submitted and ordered. Jim showed a lot of creativity and design sense; he recommended refinishing the cabinets to a different color to make the kitchen look more spacious and show off the granite countertops. I had my doubts, but his suggestion really added beauty to the kitchen and master bath. He creatively found a way to raise half a double vanity to a uniform height and fit in a large tub to replace the tiny tub the developer originally built. His design ideas really added value to the house! I am so proud to now have a beautiful home that looks so much more expensive than it looked when I purchased it. It also looks more spacious and beautiful. Jim's quality workmanship has drawn positive comments from visitors, guests, and even other contractors performing specialty work! He's the man to hire, and when it's a job he can't do, he has access to top quality specialists in other areas to do the job according to his high standards. The guy he recommended to replace and fit the new granite countertop in the master bathroom did an outstanding job. All-in-all, Jim is the handyman to call if you want the job done to perfection at a fair price.

James and crew arived early, retextured my ceiling and through in texturing a couple of wall repairs, and were gone under estimated time and approximately 30 % under estimate.

James and his worker came when they said they would, gave a quote, did the work and the work looked good.

Called on a Friday for estimate and he made time for me on the following Tuesday when I got back in town. Estimate and Time of work were spot on! Showed on on time, even 15 minutes early. Wish I had more for him to do around the house. Highly recommend~

I'm so impressed. I called thinking he would come out, give me an estimate and I'd make an appointment for another time. He was at the house about 2 hours after I called, he walked in and fixed it all in less than an hour. At a very reasonable price!!! I will definately call Jim again.

I was impressed by the timeliness, professionalism, responsiveness and quality of work by By the Hour. How nice not to have to wait at home for someone who doesn't show OR call. Was very impressed when all jobs were completed by July 1st as I have used services in the past that show up for1-2 hours and then return the next day or so. Would definitely recommend.

Jim arrived on the first day I found him on Angies list to give me an estimate which I thought was great service to start! He estimated it would be two weeks before he could start the work based on his schedule but contacted me prior to that estimated date to let me know he could start earlier. Also in the two week timeframe I contacted him by text several times with questions and he always replied very promptly with helpful information. The work went great, his communication was literally superb, and I have already scheduled him to do more work for me. He also completed the work in the time he estimated, and I feel the fact that he has a person helping him is a real bonus/value. Without question you should consider him for a wide range of jobs...you won't be disappointed!

I am preparing the house for sale. My "chores" were not extensive so we worked my needs around his schedule. He was there at the agreed upon times and when he has available time I will have him complete a few more items.

I called him on a Sunday. Somebody had knocked my mailbox over. It hadn't been sealed in with concrete. I was getting frustrated because somebody else was going to fix it, and it never happened. It was at the last minute. The guy was nice enough to come over within a few hours, and he fixed it. He was really good at what he did, and he was really fast. He did it right.

Jim arrived on time, did the work quickly and efficiently and cleaned up. He did exactly as we had agreed.

He brought all the saws and air powered tools he needed. Two men came to complete the job which they did quickly and professionally. We will use him again for other jobs around our home.

He was very good and his rates were reasonable. He fixed a plumbing leak also and we had some extra work that needed to be done and he did them. We will continue to use his services in the future.
