Met with the salesperson on a Saturday morning approximately 3 weeks before installation to pick samples and colors. She then arranged to come to the house to measure the rooms in question in order to provide an accurate quote based on the sample I chose. At the time, I was explicitly clear that I did not want installation prior to August 22 as the rooms were being painted. She understood this, which I know because she told me that it takes at least 2 weeks to order the carpet and the delay for painting would be fine. After she left, I never heard back for 4 days regarding a price for the carpet chosen. When I called her to ask for the information, she maintained that she left a message on my cell phone. She did not- apparently she wrote down the wrong phone number and left a message for someone else. I asked her to email me the quote and contract- she said that "we turn our computers off at 4 pm" and it would have to wait until the next day (this was at 4:45 pm). I received the contract on a Friday and took the weekend to review. When I called back with a question- was told that she had left a message on my home phone. We do not have a home phone. The carpet was scheduled for installation on Aug 30, with assurances that it could all be completed in one business day. A call from the company 2 days prior said that the installers would arrive between 9 and 11 am. They did not show until 11:45. Installation took until close to 7 pm at night, and during the whole time a radio with loud Spanish music was playing in my house. Ultimately found out they are subcontractors and don't work for Baker Bros. Once they were finished, I inspected the room only to see that they had created an enormous amount of damage to the new paint on the lowest 12" of the wall. Installers said that the sales person was "supposed to warn me of this". Review of the contract states that they are not responsible for "minor" baseboard damage. This is anything but. There are areas over 3" long where the paint has been taken right off. Almost every wall has some degree of damage to it. They shrugged their heads and left. I can't wait to find out what this is going to cost me to repair. And I truly believe that had they shown up on time and not been rushing to finish for the weekend on job that clearly took more time than anticipated, they would have not done such horrible damage to the walls. I expect this to now be the argument with Baker Bros of them calling it "minor" damage per contract disclaimer, but I've never in my life had carpet laid with this much damage to the house. Overall, would never use this company again both from the standpoint of total cluelessness of the salesperson (who had a hard time actually taking down a correct phone number), poor workmanship of the installers, and high price.

Ill start by saying I went in because I remember this place from when I did a renovation 5 years ago. Well I have to say I'm sorry I went back in. I have a flooring budget of around 12k and need lots material. I was greeted by a sales lady who was quite cheery and told us in her 2nd sentence she was a realtor suggesting to us she knew what gives houses value. Third sentence (I couldn't make this up) we don't compete with the home renovation stores on our products because our products are so different. Then she went off to show us all the same products Home Depot or lowes had but really 40 percent more expensive. When I actually asked her to explain why one was better than another she really had no words to explain. I was asking about a couple specific lines she started talking about Chinese imports (huh???) Anyway, for me any way the store lacked knowledge, experience and value. That is what I was looking for when I went in. We happily left to go elsewhere.
