The 1st week seemed to go ok. The 2nd week, I received an irate call from someone named Jana who informed me they didn't mow the grass in the back yard because there was dog poop "all over" and some of it seemed to be from the previous week. I explained that the property was a rental (she was surprised) and that the tenants were outstanding, but that I would talk to them. I asked her to call me if this happened again. The tenant is a long-haul trucker and his wife. She, apparently, doesn't go outside; that's his area. He'd been stranded in Texas over the weekend (he'd sent me a pic of the road) in a snow/hail storm and hadn't been able to pick up the dog pooh on Monday before he left because he never got home. Everything went ok the rest of May. June 6th I got a text from the tenant saying the grass wasn't growing and didn't need cutting. On 6/13 the tenant said they were there about 10 minutes and didn't cut the grass. My husband stopped over there on 6/18 and came home hopping mad. It's very difficult to get my husband hopping mad! The grass was almost dead; burnt and dry as a rock. The tenant was using a small sprinkler he had in the evening trying to keep it alive. My husband called and spoke with Sean, only to find out that Sean had passed the account on to this Jana person. She called me and "the tenants have been complaining, huh"; I told her I was complaining. She then tried to claim that the tenants watering the grass during the day was causing it to burn. I've never met this person, but she must think I'm stupid! She said she'd go over there on Tuesday and adjust the water. That Tuesday, that's all that was done; she adjusted the water for the grass, NOT the drip to the plants, and the crew left. I fired them that day and told them I would not pay them for a day they didn't do anything. This woman, who did such a great job at almost killing the grass, had the nerve to tell me that it shouldn't matter if they did anything or not so long as everything looked good. I had to remind her that the grass was almost dead and everything did not look good. Long story short, they are NOT professional and develop an attitude when you question or criticize their work (or lack thereof). We have a new landscape maintenance company, and within 2 weeks of getting enough water, it was needing to be mowed every week and was again lush and green. There are better places to spend your money. FYI, I ALWAYS paid them on time. I'm sure Sean will have some snotty comeback for this poor review, just as he did the first individual who gave them a bad review.
Description of Work: Hired Sean to maintain the landscape at a rental property we own. He said he would personally service the property. It has a couple of trees, 3 texas sage and 2 bush lantana in front and a 15 1/2' x 31' patch of grass in back. At the time he took over the account, the landscaping was PRISTINE. The grass in back was lush and green. The previous landscape maintenance individual had decided to take an easier job than landscape maintenance in the Arizona heat. The automatic timer was appropriately set for watering in April. Sean got the account the last week in April. While other companies wanted to come every other week, Sean insisted that the grass would need to be mowed every week. He quoted $30 a week, which was about $20 more than what we'd been paying.

Description of Work: S&C landscaped my back yard. They did an excellent job in record time, just three days. They poured a concrete patio, installed curbing for a sod border, planted trees and plants and laid gravel down. Additionally, they did repairs on the front yard irrigation system. I was very pleased with the service and attitude of management and the employees. Highly recommended.

I had only been using the services of S&C Landscape for 6-7 months. Around July, I noticed that the side of my house was not being kept up. There were weeds growing on the inside of the wall and they were getting kind of tall. Also the rocks on the side of the house were not being cleaned out. I sent an email to Sean and asked if they had been coming by still and I explained why. He said that they had been coming by but that next week they would do a more thorough job on the side of the house. He started making excuses about all the dead birds that they have had to pick up and that they had to trim the tree next to the stop sign. It just seemed like they started to make excuses and complaining about all that they had to do on my property. Mind you there are only 2 trees and about 9 bushes total on my property. There really isn’t a lot of landscaping maintenance that needs to be done on my property. The last straw was when I was on vacation during the week of August 25th 2014. On their regular day to come by on Tuesday, August 26th, I heard the blower start at almost 9:05am and they were gone by 9:20am. Not even 15 minutes. They didn’t even go down the sides of my house. I then emailed Sean to let him know that I was home and I got to see first hand how little time that they spent on my property and that I was cancelling their services. His response was: ‘Whatever Joann, for what we charge you how long do you think we should be there each visit? Plus you can never even pay your bill on time anyway so you just did us a favor.Just pay your August bill and we will be done’. I was not the one who picked the price for me to pay…..that is what Sean said the price was. And if I had known that $50.00 a month meant poor service, I never would have hired them to start with.

[member name removed] is absolutely correct in her statement. The only thing that she failed to put in her story is the FACT that she could never pay her bill on time. That is the reason our service was so minimal towards the end. She fell as far as 60 days past due. We have over 100 customers and I can assure that the ones that pay their bill get top notch quality every week. Sorry [member name removed] but I think this is a Classic Case of "You get what you DON'T pay for" Next time you hire a service provider, Plan on paying them for the work you want done

S & C Landscaping Company is a very knowledgeable, polite, professional and qualified landscaping lawn care service. You will NOT be disappointed in hiring S & C Landscaping for any of your lawn care services.
Description of Work: S & C Landscaping cleaned my whole yard. I had yards of weed grass to get rid of. They applied a chemical and it has never grown back. They are the first company that could get rid this grass permanently. They keep this nasty grass at bay. I had irrigation issues which S. & C Landscaping addressed without hesitation. They revamped all of my irrigation sprinkler heads so the water would reach all of the grass areas. They maintain my yard on a weekly basis without fail.
