We used Timberline for our high-end kitchen renovation. After several substantial delays to our project caused by their negligence, I regret using them and wish we had used a different company. Our first issue was when it was time to get our cabinets installed, turns out that they had forgotten to order them from the factory. They actually forgot to place the order with the factory after they got our $16k deposit releasing them to place the order. This issue only came to light as the proposed installation date was getting closer and we started asking about specific install dates. This oversight caused a 6 week delay to the project with no cabinets in sight. When the cabinets finally arrived, they only installed the lowers. Getting the upper cabinets delivered from the factory and installed was another 1-month delay. All of this occurred right around the holidays when we had plans to host family, assuming the cabinets would be installed well before then. It was a "how could they not be installed by then?" mentality at that time. Those plans sadly fell through. Our second issue with Timberline came when we installed our new custom panel side-by-side refrigerator. At our initial design meeting, we were assured they knew how to make the panels to accommodate the "flush inset" panel installation we wanted. That was a flat out lie. Timberline actually tried to pass off another panel type installation unsuccessfully. They knowingly installed the wrong panels thinking we were going to be ok with it! This issue came about because nobody at Timberline looked at the submittals for our appliances which they had in their possession from our first design meeting months earlier. Had they even opened the file, they would have seen all of the dimensioned cut sheets and instructions from the factory on how to manufacture and install the panels for a flush inset refrigerator installation. At this point, we should have fired them and gone a different route, but our GC talked us into staying with them. As I sit here writing this review, the refrigerator panels are still not right because they did not account for the built in ice maker on the freezer door. Our GC had to improvise some trim pieces around it which doesn't match the panel color. All of this after almost one year since our first design meeting on a project that should have been done months ago.

Description of Work: We tried for four months to get a simple estimate for cabinets for a kitchen remodel. We provided drawings and made at least 3 followup contacts with them. On the last round he promised to setup a time to meet to work out details. That was over a month ago with no followup. I don't know what the problem is but we're finished with them at this point.

We have used them since we moved to Arizona in 2006. They are very responsive and do excellent work. He built a beautiful piece of furniture for us. The mantle over the fireplace is gorgeous. He is expensive but he is worth it. The quality is top of the line. With regard to responsiveness, he was super busy. He is very honest with us and will tell us when he can get to us. We had a little bit of trouble getting him organized, but in the midst of everything his father died. So I've got nothing but nice things to say about him. He is worth the wait, and he is worth the money. Anytime we need him, he is the first one I call.
Description of Work: They reworked our kitchen and put in slide out shelves. They put in in-cabinet trash cans and recyclable. Then they put a mantel in over the fireplace. They didn’t do anything for us the last time except the kitchen pullouts. He just took the cabinets we had and put in all the pull out shelves.

Their workmanship is excellent and everything that they have made for us has always gotten comments from guests. They have a great woodshop that allows them to make anything that you might need. This also allows them to make replacement items with a quick turnaround time. The key factor in our choice of using Timberline over other cabinet makers is their owner Dan. He is a man who has been true to his word and when we had an issue with a door, he didn’t make an excuse, he made it right.
Description of Work: Timberline Woodworks has done several jobs for us. From installing “box” kitchen cabinetry to custom made cabinets, bookshelves, benches and even a walk in closet.

They were very prompt in responding, providing us with the design and some recommended changes to our original ideas which allowed us to get more storage space within the same overall dimensions. They beat their estimated delivery time of two weeks by almost a week. The cabinet nicely matches the other oak furniture in our office and it is now full of sea shells from all over the world. The cabinet makes it much easier to study, appreciate and display the shells. A previous search for specimen cabinets on the internet revealed a poor selection and outrageous prices, not to mention shipping costs. So, in this case, a custom build by a local cabinet shop was by far the best option. Based on this experience we are now having them build a custom bench seat for us.
Description of Work: From our rough design they created a CAD drawing of an oak specimen cabinet to contain a collection of rare seashells. They then built the cabinet and delivered it.

Description of Work: Both projects cost totaled about $10,000. Probably a little more than we wanted to spend but you get what you pay for. First, Timberline constructed a custom Entertainment Center in our Great Room. We are very happy with it. Dan worked with us on the design, constructed the cabinet in his shop and put it together in my home. He does great work and I would recommend him. Next, he constructed a stand alone cabinet in our kitchen nook for our wine and liquor supplies. It's 8 feet tall and about 4 feet wide with slide up shelves, glass doors and two small shelves to display our shot glasses! He did a great job on that one too!

Started out looking thorough but went on and on and forget a door here, a cut out there. When all was said and supposedly done, I'd thought I'd bought used cabinets ! Smudges, nicks, nail holes, grime, see thru between cabinets, unpainted edges, stops and self closing inconsistent. The worst part was Dan couldn't see any of this, his people don't know the product they're dealing with any more than Dan. He was good at the layout on the computer, suggest another calling! Then I'm told Cardell was or is going out of business, so he needed his can of touch-up paint returned!!! Unbelievable

Response from Timberline Woodworks Inc
I,m just going to say that in over 20 years in business (11 in custom cabinetry) your not going to please everyone. To be quite honest when you run a very good business with a lot going on, your going to have some that you just can't seem to make happy. If you understand business you'll know this to be true. I feel good about all the good work I did, and I have directly asked the contractor and he clearly says I've done my part. Smudges and grime come from others on the job and we went and cleaned. Nail holes get filled and that's part of the job. Did the best we could. Anyone is free to call me and discuss this at anytime. 928-925-6301. Thanks Dan

Timber Line Woodworks Inc is owned by Dan Kreyling. He came and measured and removed faux stone from the fireplace. What I particularly like about him is he listens. He and I designed a piece of furniture. He asked me what I wanted and I gave him the rough estimates, rough dimensions and everything. He made a few suggestions and designed the furniture exactly how I liked. Kitchen shelves and things like this. He did the most beautiful rustic wood mantel for me you ever saw in your life. He also built me - years ago - a television cabinet. Although I had to talk him in to it, he will - if he's got time - do garage cabinets. He is nice, he is honest and he is fair. He usually does what he says he is going to do. I just plain like him.

I was referred to Dan Kreyling (owner of Timber Line) by another cabinet maker because I needed a precise match of wood (hickory) in style and color as the current 7 year old cabinets. Dan came out, measured and discussed the project with me. He personally came out to install it. We are especially happy with his work and his customer service attitude. The price he charged is far lower than we thought that we would have to pay for this custom work. If you have a woodworking project that needs tender loving care, then this is the guy to call....He is great!
Description of Work: A custom inset door and shelving was made in the place of an exposed winerack in the side of a kitchen island. The wood had to match the rest of the custom cabinetry in style and color.
