In 2007 we decided on Todd Nanke to do our architectual work for our custom mountain lot in Hassayampa. Over a 9 month period he worked with my wife Brenda and me to interpret our dreams for our retirement home. He worked with mostly my wife for those months incorporating our very distinct ideas into a design that frankly floored us when we finally saw his initial detailed plans. In our view he is an artist who has a unique ability to see what even we could not conceptualize. His vision of how to incorporate our ideas into our mountain and sloping lot turned out to be just remarkable. Prior to engaging Mr. Nanke we interviewed and got initial ideas from at least 3 local residentual architects and there was really no comparison with Mr. Nanke's vision and the others who offered absolutely no vision in their conceptual proposals to us. Mr. Nanke met with us on a number occasions when we flew into Arizona to discuss and over his plans during that initial planning process. We, in fact, approved the final plans and got all the engineering and other requirements done in anticipation of building in 2008 or '09. Due to the economy and our inability to sell our home in Jacksonville, Fl, our plans were put on hold much to our chagrin. In mid 2011 we sold our home and had to go back to Mr. Nanke to either revise or provide us new plans due to the loss we took on our home over the last few years. In the end, we collectively decided to do essentially a new plan had to be done that reflected anticipated buildout costs. He again performed beyond our expectations and we, in fact, like this plan more than the first he did. As noted earlier, we have building underway on our lot and he continues to be very involved with overseeing the actual build to keep us on budget. My wife and I have found him to be just unbelievable to work with and our trust in his professionalism, ethics, and follow-thru is significant. Beyond that over the time we have worked with him we know him to he one of the nicest men we have had the privilege of working with. I want to point out that my wife and I have moved over 13 times during my long two careers and have more than minimal experience with architects and builders. He is the BEST! I could give him a higher recommendation and I do not say that lightly.
