 + -1 moreWe met with Michael and he was prompt in meeting me at my house to go over my front yard landscaping project which included artificial grass, borders, and irrigation. He was friendly, attentive, and made some good suggestions on how to complete our project. We had 4 other companies we had met with for proposals. He quickly furnished me a proposal within a week. However, when I replied via email to his proposal indicating that we would like to move forward with the project with his company, we never heard back, nothing at all. I would’ve respected and understood had the company replied that they were not interested and decided to pass; anything other than no reply at all. It’s unfortunate as we have a future project in the backyard and it would’ve been a prime opportunity to earn future business as well.

 + -1 moreIt appears that this work is subcontracted out as I dealt with a different person than listed. To start he indicated they would send a written estimate. After two weeks post visit I had to call for the estimate. Work was performed with the exception of one tree that he indicated he need different tools to complete and would return to complete the job. He never returned. In addition He wanted payment at conclusion of the work, this was not discussed prior. Two emails and a months time had past and no follow up to complete the work. I was considering additional work to be done, but after this experience I have chosen to go elsewhere. Not impressed.

From designing my landscaping, working around problems that arose, he and his crew were professional, caring, responsive to my wants, prompt and dependable. They always made sure my dogs were safe, they listened to what I wanted and they have followed up to make sure everything is still okay.

 + 0 moreContacted Mike. He came out and gave us an estimate. He told us that he had done a project for some neighbors down our street, so we went there and checked it out (it was great and our neighbor was very happy with it!). We told Mike to put us on his schedule. About three weeks later, Mike and his crew started the job. Three-and-a-half days later, the project was complete and we were thrilled at the way it came out! All of the work that was done was better than we expected. And these guys work very hard! Because of the slope of our backyard and all of the very large boulders, we thought our backyard was useless. We now have a beautiful patio, where we can sit with a nice view of Granite Mountain. The walkway around our house looks great also. And we are so happy that our trees and bushes have been trimmed. We highly recommend Concepts to Reality and will use them again when we are ready for another project. Great job, great price, and great workers.
Description of Work: Removed one large tree next to house. Trimmed trees and bushes. Installed granite for walkway. Moved boulders for steps and help retain soil for patio. Installed 144 sq ft patio out of pavers.

 + 0 moreMike missed our first appointment to give us an estimate because he didn't write it down in his calendar. He came on time the next time and the price was set at $600. On the date of service, he was not on the job site. The landscapers worked 4 hours without payment and left. They did a good job. I had a $600 check waiting to be picked up. Then I did not hear from Mike. I contacted him and he said he had a lot going on with personal and business. He said he would send the bill which he did but it was for $800. We went back and forth a bit and he agreed to the $600 price because he never gave us a written estimate. I don't think we will use him again because of the miscommunication.

 + 1 moreMike was very professional and efficient. He delivered what was promised in his ad. He made sure to introduce me to the three man crew that cleaned up my yard, which I appreciated greatly. I contracted him for a 3 crew , four hour service. On arrival after a survey of the yard, he let me know that the work would take less than the four hours I had paid for. Because the special prepaid pricing offered on Angie's list did not allow for refunds , Mike let me know they would haul off all the debris for the difference. A service that is normally done for an additional fee. Mike's crew not only pulled weeds, trimmed bushes and raked up leaves, they also cut down quite a few tree shoots that had gotten out of control in our yard, applying root killer where appropriate. Something I would have expected to pay more for as an additional service. We definitely got great value for our money. I was very impressed with the company and plan to use him in the future.

 + 1 moreOur landscaping was in need of a major overhaul. We called Michael and he came to give us an estimate the same day and two days later arrived with his crew of three to do the job. Ten hours later our yard was clean, trees and shrubs were pruned, weeds were gone and it looked the best it has in years. The crew was friendly, competent and hardworking. We plan to have them back spring, summer and fall for regular maintenance.

Difficult project due to the slope of unstable rocks, which were filled with heavy buildup of pine needles. Site was clean and looked great when they were done. Also, repaired my irrigation system, replacing broken parts. Obviously, experienced and professional.

 + 1 moreHe used laser lines with emitters a foot apart which really don't produce enough water for overall watering of the areas I have. I called him back 3 times to add more line and he was always willing to return and fix what I thought needed fixing but the idea of putting water on the drip line of mature trees and shrubs seems to be a foreign one for his workers. He seems to have a competent knowledge of automatic watering systems however he doesn't get it on the conditions up here in Prescott - more in tune to Chino Valley or Phoenix( where he is originally from). Everything he did is subject to freezing - the water lines are a mere few inches below the ground.

The work took about 2.5 days, mostly because of having to wheel barrel the river rock from the front street around the house and down the grade to the bed. The finished product is very functional and esthetic. The entire job was completed in a little over a week from when I first contacted them.
Description of Work: Excavated approx. 120 feet river bed along backyard slope; lined and installed river rock; extended and buried approx. 20 feet of drain pipe.

 + 2 moreMike and his crew showed up on time and proceeded to clean up all the oak leaves that had fallen this spring ... quite a project as there was about 1/2 acre of lanscaped yard to deal with, in and around lots of boulders, trees, shrubs, etc. Mike also got rid of some dead plants, and repaired areas where my dog had dug up the landscape cloth in search of lizards. Then he put down a granualr pre-emergent over all the landscape rock and the whole of my 300' long driveway. I was very pleased with the results and have already asked him to come by another day for some other projects. A very positive experience overall!

 + 2 moreThe courtyard landscaping came out nicely, the water systems work fine, and the flagstone is nice & solid now! Whenever we need something done, all we have to do is call, and Mike comes out as soon as he can. We appreciate his prompt responses, his attention to detail, and the way he works with us to make sure plant, landscaping/ hardscaping, and water systems all work! We felt the prices he charged, considering how much work he put into the job, reasonable and will continue to use his services in the future.
Description of Work: Mike & his crew have come to our place a number of times for various jobs: working on & installing water systems & sprinklers and landscaping our courtyard, which was nothing but a empty space with flagstone. Mike created a couple of planting beds, worked with us on the design, brought in the rocks, and showed us how the previous owner had improperly laid the flagstone. Mike & his crew spent a great deal of time to get the flagstone properly cut, installed, and cemented into place. Towards the end of the job, a rainstorm hit, but Mike continued to work in the downpour to ensure the job was done correctly! He also created drains to allow water pouring off the roof to travel under the stones and away from the house. He fixed a major water leak that he discovered when replacing flagstone...he very easily could have left the little, and not so little, things he found uncorrected, but took it upon himself to alert us to issues, potential problems, and to find solutions to fix everything.

 + -1 moreOverall my experience with this vendor rates a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. Everything I have hired them to do has been done in a timely manner and the price is right.
Description of Work: I have used this service several times over the past few years. They put in a landscaped area with 3 blue spruce and some very nice rocks. They also treat my yard for weeds...last year I had virtually no weeds despite the fact that we had a of of rain. When I did notice several weeds poking through the rocks they came back and took care of them with no additional charge. I've also used them to trap gophers in my yard...they charge $25/gopher caught.
