 + -1 moreOn April 26, 2023 I paid Kevin $1638.99 on a Zelle payment for a new system with monitor. Part of this payment was to clean up my home desk top computer of malware. He has only given me promises, but has never cleared my computer of malware, and has never delivered the new system I paid him for.
Description of Work: NONE!! Total failure.

 + -1 morefinally after calling and getting no reply I called the local police department and reported a stolen lap top. An officer took all my information and called Kevin. Finally I got a call at bit later in the evening that he'd bring my laptop by in the morning before noon. Well, you guessed it..............noon came and went as well. I called him again to find out what was going on.......left a message. He texted me back that he was on his way and would be at my address soon. I texted back how many minutes/hours is soon? He then replied a couple of minutes. He arrived with my lap top as if nothing was wrong..............as if he was the greatest thing since sliced bread and no apology at all about not being more reliable and responsive to his customers. I can't vouch for his computer capabilities but I sure can vouch for his utter LACK of business acumen and courtesy. Stay far away from this guy, you'll be better off with someone better recommended here on Angie's list. I should have used one of these referrals rather than take the word of a Cable One technician. RUN FAST in the other direction.
Description of Work: Cleaned all malware and spyware from laptop. I was referred to this guy by a Cable One technician. Kevin came by about 15 minutes after I called him and came in, sat down, and started assessing my laptop's issues. He said that it had a lot of issues and that he could take care of them for about $80-$120 (over the phone he had said $40-$80) He said he needed to take it home and run some programs on it and he'd bring it back by in the morning by 9am. Never heard back from him the next day so I called at around 10AM. Left a message and Kevin called back saying he would bring the laptop by around noon. Noon came and went and so I called him again and left another message. This time he called back saying he'd bring it by no later than 6pm. Now you get the picture? Well

 + -1 moreAVOID BLACK BOX COMPUTERS AT ALL COSTS!!!! I hired Kevin Ashurst, owner of Black Box Computers in Prescott, AZ to build a computer system for me. Although Kevin is very good at computers, his unprofessionalism outweighs ANY reason to work with him. The computer was two weeks late. Not built to my specifications. Didn't work as promised. Repairs were delayed by over two weeks. He does not return telephone calls or communicate AFTER he's got your money. After threatening lawsuits, I finally got most of my money back, a week after he promised. Kevin has been sued for FRAUD in the past for doing the very same thing he did to me and he LOST the suit. Apparently he learned nothing from his previous experience. THERE ARE PLENTY OF GOOD COMPUTER EXPERTS TO BE FOUND SO YOU DON'T NEED TO WORK WITH KEVIN ASHURST OF BLACK BOX COMPUTERS. Based on my experience & the experience of others, AVOID this person at all costs, you WILL have a bad experience!
