We had purchased a new replacement toilet from Home Depot and wanted a professional to install it, as well as look at the bathroom sink and hot water heater. John was on time and courteous, but spent more time writing up the estimate and trying to talk us into joining their and quot;Membership Cluband quot; for $125 so we could get 20% off. What a rip off. We said just give us the 20% off and we'll call you the next time we need a plumber. The estimate was almost $2,000 for everything, so we just had him install the toilet. He gave us a bill for $395!! To install OUR toilet!! Unbolt two bolts, re-bolt two more. We only paid them $200. Later a friend told us Home Depot could have installed it. I called them, and their charge was only $99. I will not use Ben Franklin plumbing again.

I am a homeowner in Prescott, AZ and purchased a diamond home warranty from a warranty company. We called the warranty company and informed them that our water heater had stopped working and asked that they have it looked at as quickly as possible. They then dispatched Benjamin Franklin Plumbing to do the job. Upon arrival the individual tried to sell us their plumbing inspection and save us 20% on future calls. (keep in mind that this is already being done from a home warranty policy) My wife had to call me on the phone and say, this man is standing here and wants to sell us this, what should I do... I talked to the man on the phone and informed him that we are having the work done via a claim on the home warranty, and needed the work completed and asked that he not be soliciting their service.The man spent a few hours working on the water heater and discovered that it needed to be replaced. After an hour or two the repairman returns with the water heater and installs the water heater then leaves. I get home from work to see the job that was done. To my surprise, their is a new water heater in the garage, the findings after this would be frustrating and warrant need of external resources. First I noticed that the shelf in the garage that the water heater sits on was damaged. I do have pictures of before and after. Second of all the expansion tank that used to be there was gone and there was nothing in its place. I then looked at the top of the water heater to see that the exhaust vent is not even put on the heater correctly and that it is using the top of the old water heater instead. The plate on the ceiling by the vent outlet had been knocked loose and left as-is for me to find.I then called the home warranty company, who then called Benjamin Franklin Plumbing and reported these issues. I also sent them an email with before and after pictures of the water heater and my home. I was told that the repairman would be out between the hours of 8am and 12pm the following day. My wife then received a call informing her that the call was logged wrong and their only serviceman was not going to be able to service the order until later in the day. Finally, the man showed up, installed an expansion tank and informed my wife that the damage to our home will not be covered by their company nor my home warranty company. I am considering the thought of hiring legal assistance to recover the damages that have happened to my home. The company responded in a positive fashion and fixed all issues. Good job!!
