The owner, David, should not be running a business. There is so much more to this than I can write but him and his team is condescending, rude, and extremely unprofessional. Our (overpriced) roof started leaking a couple weeks after it was installed. The leak was getting into the attic, ruining wood, insulation, and the floor it was dripping onto. When we called to get someone out we were cussed out. They came out to “fix it” once. Still leaked. Months later, the owner went to our house to look at it while my husband and I were at the hospital in the valley delivering a baby (which he knew). He called and cussed out my husband using very loud and aggressive language (which he continuously denies even though here were several witnesses), telling my husband it wasn’t his roof it was our house and the siding (where no water touches) was the problem. He wouldn’t come out to fix any of the leaks so we had to contact the ROC. By the way, the siding wasn’t the problem. At this point we have gone through the ROC and fixed one of the 5 leaks that is still going into our house. It’s pretty ridiculous that even under a year warranty, David and his careless team will not fix our roof. After having other roofers look at it, it appears that him and his team don’t know how to put roofs on houses and their work is, as said, careless. They could care less about quality and their customers. They get the check and go. They should not have a license and they should not have a roofing company. Over the past YEAR we have put in too much money, time, and effort, to get Bowtie roofing to fix the new roof that they put on extremely poorly. We will be contacting more competent roofers to fix what they apparently, are not capable of fixing.

Description of Work: Bow Tie Roofing did a great job. They were on time, courteous, and easy to work with. I ask for a change to be made and they did it without giving me a hard time about it. The crew and the supervisor were very friendly. They made the whole project much easier to deal with. I would recommend them to anyone who needs any type of roofing jobs done.

So far the work still looks beautiful, the ceiling looks almost like new. They were willing to come back and check several times to do the work when the snow was off the roof, they were polite, profession, and I would hire them again.

I feel the contract price of $3025 would go a long way toward an entirely new roof on a very small 577 square foot cabin plus a screen porch. For this I recieved, in my opinion, the equivilant of "Uncle Joe" with a peice of scrap metal and a tube of silicone on my roof. At least "Uncle Joe" may have made an effort to wipe the dirt off before applying the silicone...yes, dirt is visible under the silicone. Silicone sealant is a wonderful thing and an essentilal component of a roofing system. It is, however, again, in my opinion, not meant to be used as the primary barrier to water infiltration or as a short cut to proper roofing technique. As another reviewer alluded to, the owner was, to put it mildly, less than pleasant when I called to voice my concerns. I won't repeat the language! The Arizona Registrar of Contractors has issued Bow Tie roofing a "Corrective Work Order....in my opinion, enough said. UPDATE: As expected, ROOF LEAKS! Unbelievable, in my opinion, lack of shame. I would be embarrased to leave my name this work. Wish I could post photos and copy of corrective work order. May try to post on YouTube. When I initially called to express my concerns, I was told the roof was fine, and they had done a good job. (ROOF LEAKS!!!) It was only after involving the Registrar of Contractors that they agreed to correct their work. I want to lay in bed at night and enjoy hearing the rain fall on my roof, not lay there worrying about leaks, rot and mold. I declined their offer to come back. Will find a professional roofer to do job right.

Response from Bow-Tie Roofing
The registrar of contractors was involved and found the I did every thing possible to make him happy with the repair to his cabin but Mr. [member name removed] was completely unreasonable and out of line with his issues. The judge found his complaint unwarranted.

We had a roof leak in the mobile home and we contacted Bow-Tie Roofing to have them come out to fix it. First off, they were extremely hard to get in contact with. When we finally did, they sent out 2 young boys who go ontop of the roof, added some white tar and were gone 15 minutes later. They were very unhelpful and the roof is still leaking. When my mother called them back and told them that the roof was still leaking the owner said, "Don't get snippy with me."

Bowtie replaced the roof on my garage a couple years ago when a tree fell on it. This time hail destroyed the entire roof (Murphy's Law?). They did a great job on the garage, so I had no reservations giving them this job as well. A team of about 6 guys showed up in the early morning on the appointed day and just got busy. The team worked well together and it was easy to see that they all knew what to do without being told. They finished the garage the 1st day, and came back the 2nd day to do the house. The crew replaced some rotted out wood sheathing that was discovered when they stripped the roof. They made sure the gutters were properly installed under the new drip edge. An unexpected bonus was the way they handled the lightning rods. The ground wires were neatly tucked under the ridge cap, out of view and greatly enhancing the beauty of the finished roof. Great idea! Bowtie also used a tough polypropylene underlayment when they could have gotten by using old-school felt. Dave and the crew kept me informed the entire time, and were always responsive to my questions and concerns.
Description of Work: Stripped the entire roof, and installed new underlayment, drip edges, and shingles.
