+ 1 moreThey are still providing service on a bi-weekly schedule. They listened when we said no leaf blowers and minimal chemicals for both our own safety and those of our dogs. They monitor the gate so it is never left open when working in the back yard. they are easy to communicate with and get back to you quickly, if you have questions or requests.

+ -1 moreThis is a quality company with excellent, professional employees. We switched to William Jenkins after a nightmare with another landscape group. What a difference! We have gravel yards but many small pocket gardens with roses, vines, tropical plants, herbs and vegetables. We also have many fruit trees so we need a knowledgeable company. We do our own rose pruning and fertilizing and hire a citrus specialist to maintain the trees, but other than that, the landscape workers do everything else. We use William Jenkins for our regular landscape service every two weeks. They send three men who work diligently and perform any tasks we request including planting, fertilizing, moving large landscape rocks, taking down old trellises and arbors and hauling. They take pride in their work, ringing the doorbell when they arrive (always on time) and ask what we would like done. They are the first landscape group that doesn't blow leaf debris into the neighbor's yard or under the garage door. They also clean up any leaves that blow into the pool. The company is a little more costly than others but well worth the worry-free work. We also asked that they send an irrigation technician. He came within a couple of days of our request. He checked each line, reset timers, replaced heads and took the time to answer many questions. We have a much better understanding of the irrigation system because of his explanations.

Description of Work: I found Jenkins Landscaping from Angie's list. My irrigation timer was not working properly and I had landscaping lights that were not working. The gentleman (Ken I believe) was on time and I explained the issues. He could not find anything wrong with my sprinkler timer, set my sprinklers to come on automatically and it worked! It had not come on automatically for a few days and at times I could get it to work manually (at other times it would not work at all). He could not find anything wrong with it and indeed, when he left, it worked for a day. He also checked the lines, replaced landscaping lights, and added a drip line. He was here a little over an hour and he was very professional and cordial. My concern with this company was that they did not give me an estimate, did not explain their prices beforehand and their labor costs. When he was done I was ready to pay by check and the gentleman explained that a bill would be sent to me and gave me no indication of any costs. I found that strange. I'd never had that experience with repair personnel before. As I explained, the timer worked for a day then stopped working at all. I called another contractor, he game out that same day, found the issue internally with the timer, replaced the unit for a reasonable cost and its worked perfectly since. A week later I received a bill from Jenkins landscaping for $257.07. Of that, $140.00 was for labor! If I segment that amount and go with their 1 and 1/2 hour estimate (that is being very liberal, he wasn't there much over an hour) that would be approximately $93.00 an hour for one person for labor (140 divided by 1.5=93)! I would hate to see what a whole crew of Jenkins landscapers would cost! I won't be using this contractor again, I'll just call my dentist, it'll be cheaper.

+ 0 moreThe work crew did a thorough job. My yard was in terrible disrepair and it took longer than I expected. The crew trimmed my Chilean mesquite tree and did a beautiful job. I'm fussy about how my trees are trimmed but I would trust them to do more. The sprinkler repair man is here two weeks later and he was early, seems to be doing the job to my satisfaction. My one difficulty is that I seem to have trouble pinning down my contact person and getting work scheduled. The front lawn was scheduled to be "scalped" so the sprinkler repair man could get a good look, it took another full week to get hold of them to schedule the sprinkler work still another week later. I have the next maintenance scheduled, they gave me the date but not the time. I would be happier with easier contact and more clarity on scheduling.
Description of Work: I employed William T. Jenkins to do routine lawn maintenance in my front and back yards, including trimming one tree. I also asked to have some underground sprinkler heads inspected and replaced.

+ -1 moreI got info from Angie's List re irrigation system repair and called Wm. T. Jenkins to set an appointment on Monday. I called back on Wednesday to set an appointment , and they booked my appointment for Thursday afternoon. Adam arrived early and looked at the valve that was not operating. He replaced the valve and tested it . . . it worked great. He showed me the old valve which had been damaged and would not work. Now my system works great and I don't have to operate it manually!
Description of Work: Adam arrived early and completed the job requested in record time. He showed me the problem and was very courteous and efficient. I will definitely recommend Wm. T. Jenkins to all my neighbors and friends.

+ -1 moreThe asphalt company felt they could handle this repair but I had my doubts. The WTJ rep, James, was on time (6 a.m.) and stayed until the asphalt tech arrived 2 hours late. The asphalt company underestimated what needed to be done and the tech had no idea what equipment to purchase. James told him what to buy and stayed onsite while the tech went shopping. After the completing the repair, the tech was going to pressure test it immediately. James indicated the repair needed to dry for 24 hours first. Without William T Jenkins' oversight, this could have been a real mess. I have found William T Jenkins to be quick to respond in an emergency and extremely professional. I highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: I contracted with William T Jenkins (WTJ) to oversee damage to a main irrigation pipe at the edge of a parking lot caused by an asphalt company during demolition of the old pavement. (I used WTJ for an earlier repair on the same repaving job because it could not be proved that the asphalt company caused that damage. That repair was handled quickly and efficiently).

+ -1 moreThey charged me $250. In fact, there was one last billing. There was a separate piece of work that they split up over a few days. I don't think the billing is quite right. I have to get it clarified with them. They were very professional, prompt and on time. They got the work done within the prescribed time. The quality of their work was very good. They were reasonably priced and not too expensive. They are a pretty solid outfit.
Description of Work: I used William T Jenkins Lawn Sprinkling Systems for some irrigation sprinkler work. I have a residential irrigation sprinkler and bubbler. They went through the entire system and basically put in new parts and so forth. Everything was updated.

+ -1 moreI feel that this is a first-rate, professional organization. John listened carefully to what I had to say, asked questions, and did not hurry me. He clearly knows his business as he was familiar with all the details of my system - more than I knew. I asked about adding a water feature and what his company can do along those lines. He detailed to me exactly what they would need to do, asking questions of me along the way to get a good mental picture of what I wanted. John was able to give me a reasonable ballpark figure (not a formal quote at this time). This will help me plan for the future and what I want my landscaping to be. While I like to do a lot of my gardening myself, I feel I have an ally in this company for times when I get stuck or the project is too big for me alone. I would definitely do business with Jenkins Landscape and Irrigation company again. Further, I would be happy to refer others as well.
Description of Work: I needed a few repairs made to my drip irrigation and lawn sprinkler system. A sprinkler head was broken, I needed new supply lines to the garden bed, and the backwash preventer was leaking water when one of the lines shut off. I placed the call to the office and got a return call within 36 hours. President John Harper came out to walk through my list and give me an estimate. They do have a $70 initial fee for the first half hour of work; they bill in 15 minute intervals after that. With the price of gas and two visits to my home, I thought that was reasonable. The estimate was free. Because my system is about 15 years old, I was afraid I was going to be told I needed a whole new system. However, this was not the case. After examining the equipment, he gave me an estimate which was acceptable. He then called the office and detailed the pieces and repair kits necessary to complete the job. He dictated manufacturer names and model numbers which I had not provided. This man knows his business! I was impressed. He scheduled Adam to come out the next day and repair my system before the holiday weekend. Adam arrived 10 minutes early the next day. I showed him the sprinkler, the hose and how long it needed to run, and the backflow preventer. He went to work and was done in a shorter amount of time than John had estimated. Adam had tested all the systems to make sure the repairs were sound. He rang the bell when he was done, said I would be billed for services, and wished me a good day. If only all home repair work was as effortless as this!

We had just returned home from the hospital after delivering our baby boy and our front/backyard was over loaded with weeds. It looked like I had grass and bushed growing everywhere. William Jenkins provided a fair estimate for a job that required 3 men and took just under 3 hours to complete. They did an AWESOME job. Not one single week in sight. Thank you William Jenkins for the prompt and awesome service you provided for my husband and I.

The work was completed on time and at the quoted price. This company is clearly not on the lower end expense wise, but the quality of the work is high.
