I designed a Tuff Shed on-line and purchased the beginning of October ‘20. For some absurd reason, Tuff Shed PHX could not send me final documents that correctly reflected my design, so I then needed to cancel my initial order and create a new order. With the new order somehow now allowing Tuff Shed PHX to correctly utilize their own software, the install was scheduled for the first of December. When the day of install finally came around, and the installers showed up, everything seemed to be moving smoothly. This precise moment has been the high water mark with my experience with Tuff Shed PHX. Come to find out, after the installers had erected the structure, multiple pieces were missing on the delivery (shelving, door frame, window box, etc.), the walls had either not been cut or mis-cut to accommodate the windows or vents included in the design (some of which were also missing from the delivery), the entire structure was built with one side of the metal base missing and they didn’t finish shingling the roof (which the installers failed to mention and I did not initially notice). In fact, if I hadn’t checked to see if the installers needed water, I probably wouldn’t have been formally informed about any of these issues as the installers seemed to just vanish from my property without warning. I waited for Tuff Shed to contact me to schedule a follow-up date to fix the issues and complete the install of the missing items, however I received NO communication for two weeks. It took MULTIPLE phone calls and emails to finally get a response back and Tuff Shed had no idea of the issues with this install. This is how the follow-up appointments have faired so far: 1st Attempt: No Call No Show ( I again needed to contact Tuff Shed multiple times to reschedule .) 2nd Attempt: They showed up! Multiple issues were taken care of but not all. The cuts for the windows and vents that were now needed to be made on site because they were missed at factory were sloppy and imprecise, making the finish look more like a kids clubhouse constructed with found materials than what I had designed. They finished the roofing that I was unaware had not been completed to this point, however we were now almost two months past the initial install date and it had snowed multiple times in Flagstaff, where we live, to that point. After this appointment, I still only had 3/4 of a base holding up the structure! However, Tuff Shed did contact me the following day to schedule another appointment. 3rd Attempt: No Call No Show. Again. Have yet to receive any communication. I have again started what has proved to be the arduous process of contacting Tuff Shed on multiple occasions to get any sort of attention to my incomplete purchase. I want to be clear here, each scheduled attempt means that I am unable to pursue my own business as I need to be available at home. Also, with the foundation of the structure incomplete, I have not been able to fully utilize the structure, relegating the building to nothing much more than a goofy looking lawn ornament, to this point.. At this point I’m not sure if I should have any expectations to have a competently completed Tuff Shed building on my property. However, I’m very confident that competency and Tuff Shed PHX are NOT synonymous. As far as the quality of the final product, HOW WOULD I KNOW!?!!

Their crew arrived within days of the concrete being done, bringing all the material, including pre-fab walls. The roof trusses had already been delivered. The first day, they erected the walls and roof, including sheathing. The second day, they put on the shingles, doors, windows, and trim. Finished in less than two days! I am a retired carpenter, and I closely inspected the whole building for mistakes, but I couldn't find any. Bart Godfrey was my salesman. He was very courteous and helpful with changes that I wanted to make, even helped me with getting the building permit from the city. I now have a beautiful garage, and I would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: They built a two-car garage in my backyard. It is 24'x24'x15' high.

The crew was very fast and efficient and most of the shed was already built so they just had to put the walls up and fasten them to the slab. The trusses were also prefabbed so they installed them in a short order. They are definatly not cheap, but if you want a quality shed in hurry, I would recommend them. The walls were suppose to be 16and quot; on center, however there were a few that were spaced farther apart next to the door. For those I had to install additional studs. I also had to tighten down a few of the concrete anchors because they were very loose. The crew didn't do a very good job of cleaning up their mess because they left a number of shingle scraps laying around.
Description of Work: We had them install a shed on a concrete slab in our back yard.

The two-man crew who built our shed was a little late arriving to the job site. That's the reason for the 'B' grade for 'Punctuality'. However, in fairness to them, they had to drive from Phoenix to Ash Fork (normally a 2.5 hour drive), got sidetracked by an emergency request in Flagstaff, and stayed well into the night (10:30pm!) in order to complete the job, in the dark no less. Thankfully I had a small light and my own generator, but still. They DID communicate to me that they would be late, but it was a bit of an inconvenience to sit around in the cold and dark until they finished, and then to move our items (sitting outside) into the shed (in the dark) upon its completion. The shed turned out great. It's very high quality, very secure, very attractive and very sturdy. It's sometimes used as a 'cabin' for camping, and it will last us a long, long time. The price was fairly affordable, compared to other solutions, but is still quite a chunk of change to drop on a 'shed'. In our case, we had little option, given the type of structure we wanted, the remoteness of our land, and the inability to truck in a pre-built unit without cutting down additional trees. It's pretty cool that Tuff Shed can transport everything needed for your shed on a small trailer and build the unit on-site. It even came pre-painted (though the guys also had secondary touch-up paint, which they left with us). The purchasing process was simple, and there were plenty of examples at the Tuff Shed location we visited. The only complaint that I'll state is that Tuff Shed will want to charge you $75 for 'generator rental' if you do not have power at the location where you want your shed built. This wasn't communicated to me up front, probably because they didn't ask if I had power at my location. Luckily I saw something about this online prior to construction, and I proactively called and asked, or the construction might not have happened at all due to lack of power. I ended up buying a generator for not much more than twice the $75 Tuff Shed wanted to charge me for a rental. Given the price of the unit, it still surprises me a little that Tuff Shed wouldn't just charge customers the cost of the gas for the generator, and a small hourly fee for its use, if anything at all. It should be considered a cost of doing business. At the end of the day, my wife and I are very satisfied with our shed, and would recommend Tuff Shed to our friends and family. Just keep the above in mind.
Description of Work: I had a 14x16 shed w/ loft and porch area built on land I own in Ash Fork. The work was performed by the Phoenix store, and included transportation of all materials to the job site, and labor.

I bought this through Home Depot so I could pay it out. I am very happy with the shed and the work of the installers. The shed is on stainless steel skids, so they won't rot. The shed itself is very solid and I have not had any problems with it. The installers were on time, professional, and quick. They painted the shed well and didn't make a mess. I have had the shed for 2 years now and have had no problems with it.
Description of Work: Delivered, installed, roofed, and painted 8' x 10' high barn style shed.

THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD WITH A CONTRACTOR. THE SALESPERSON LIED TO ME CONTINUALLY. THE GARAGE WAS NOT BUILT AS AGREED UPON. THE QUALITY IS POOR. CONSTRUCTION WAS NOT FINISHED ON TIME. EVEN WHEN THE PROBLEMS WERE POINTED OUT, THERE WAS NO CONCERN ON TUFF SHED'S PART, ONLY TO COLLECT THE MONEY AND RUN. I WOULDN'T HAVE A DOG HOUSE BUILT BY TUFF SHED. THESE ITEMS LISTED ARE ONLY A SMALL SAMPLE OF THE PROBLEMS I HAD WITH TUFF SHED.

JAY BRYANT WAS THE SALES CONSULTANT WHO CAME TO OUR RESIDENCE. VIEWED AREA FOR SHED PLACEMENT AND PICKED SHED SIZE AND OPTIONS. UNFORTUNATELY, JAY ADVISED US INCORRECTLY ON SCOTTSDALE CITY CODES, SO WE ORIGINALLY CONTRACTED FOR A SMALLER SHED (120 SQ. FT.) THAT DIDN'T REQUIRE A PERMIT. AFTER CHECKING WITH CITY, FOUND OUT THAT ANY SHED UNDER 200 SQ. FT. DOES NOT REQUIRE A PERMIT. SINCE TUFF SHED HAD A PRICE INCREASE AUGUST 2004, THE LOCAL OFFICE WOULD NOT SELL US THE SHED AT THE PRICE IT WAS AT THE TIME WE CONTRACTED. WE PLAN TO ADDRESS ISSUE WITH CORPORATE OFFICE. OTHER THAN THIS, WE HAD A VERY POSITIVE EXPERIENCE WITH TUFF SHED. LOOKED AT THE SHEDS AT THE HOME IMPROVEMENT WAREHOUSE STORES. THERE WERE SOME CHEAPER ONES, BUT THIS ONE WAS THE BEST CHOICE. TUFF SHED IS ALSO AVAILABLE THROUGH HOME DEPOT, BUT FOR THE $200 TO $300 SAVINGS, YOU GET A BETTER SHED BUYING DIRECT.
