He replaced the rollers, which definately were worn, then worked on the tracks which needed some minor adjustments for the door to operate smoothly. He cleaned the tracks and gave some information on maintainence, even on a glass cleaner to use, (which I tried, and it works beautifully).

They gave a 10% discount because of the AL connection. Came out to estimate, measure. Ordered windows delivered and installed within a week. All was well done. Courteous, friendly workers.

+ 0 moreWhen I found out how much it would cost to replace the window I had True View come out. After talking with a number of people I knew that to repair the it would cost between $200 and $300. I then had True View come out and give me an estimate and was told it would cost $250. I then scheduled the work. These people were true to their word. They gave a window of when they would arrive and called one-half hour before they would be there. The installation had to be coordinated with our renter and the renter was very happy with the scheduling as well as the installation. I would certainly use True View again.
Description of Work: A large double pane window had crack running diagonally across it. I had Home Depot come out and they wanted to replace the whole window for nearly $700.00 as they did not repair the glass itself. That is when i called True View.

+ -1 moreA few weeks back I had to smash my window in my house because I locked my keys in my car.(this was a tuesday) If it wasn't for the fact that I had to make a flight within an hour I would have called a locksmith. Long story short, I made arrangements with several companies to come and do a estimate for window replacement. They all informed me that there would be a 3-5 day wait for the window replacement. I called True View Windows and they informed me that I would have same day service to include glass replacement. WOW! I canceled all the other companies that were scheduled come out. The next day (wed) I had a technician come to my house to measure the window, he informed me that it would have to be custom made. So, obviously same day service was NOT an option. He told me 3-5 days. While he was there I had him measure my windows for screens, I thought I was going to have it done anyways, why not kill two birds with one stone. Jeff, the technician was very professional and friendly. He measure all my windows and gave me samples of screening to play with. We were talking about the 80% and 90% screens. He informed me there would be no difference in the price if I chose either. So, he did the measurements same day. Again he was very professional and friendly. The next day (Thursday) I got a call from TRUE VIEW. Got the time frame (3-5) business days for windows and an estimate for screens. Screens were really highly priced 3 little block windows 12"12" (approx 1 sq ft each) were going to be over $350. In addition to that they told me there was a difference in the price for 80% to 90%. I called on friday to get an idea of when my window was going to be ready. When I called the woman told me 7-10 business days. I had already left a deposit with the initial order. I couldn't believe it. I was hoping that window would be ready for installation for the following TUE- WED, I had cleared those two days.What happned to 3-5 business days? Well, those days weren't an option either. Friday was the only day it could be done. I told them I had a 5pm flight to catch on friday and if I could have an early morning appt. They said it wasn't possible because the TECH has another apt that day. Do they only have 1 technician? My suggestion is get estimates and use another company. As much as I appreciate great, friendly customer service, great service doesn't make up for my financial loss (rearranging schedule) or frustration.
Description of Work: Very unorganized. I had received multiple quotes and conflicting information regarding not only price, but time frame to have glass made and installed. I will never use or refer anyone to this company. Great customer service, poor execution.

+ -1 moreAfter a high wind/heavy rain event this past winter, we experienced leaking around the window with some water damage and staining.Our thinking was that it was the window, not the roof, that was the culprit.**The company who had originally put in the window two years ago, as part of of a replacement request on our purchase agreement, refused to come back a service the window.**True View agreed to come out and take a look. After discussion of potential problems and their proposal, we hired them for the job. The team of 2 successfully removed the window, without even a scratch, including to the film which had been professionally applied to the inside of the window last year.The process involved:-cutting the exterior stucco out 4" around the entire window-remove the window, inspect the framing and condition, re-flash, and properly prepare the area -re-install the window-properly trim and finish Another team would come in that afternoon (subcontracted) to complete the stucco repair.They were also professional, and matched the stucco texture perfectly.Yes, we now have to hire our painting company to prime and paint the stucco-but this was well worth the investment. We feel much more confident in the performance of the window--and this installation. True View sent a very experienced team. From the get-go, the office personnel and the team were professional and very helpful. Our home was built in 1995, and will have needs in the future for individual window replacements. This company has been in business a long time, and has access to window products consistent to our home's original build (no longer in business). We won't have to consider a complete home window replacement (at least not for a long time) to maintain the aesthetic of this territorial style home.

I did and all of the folks at the site were so friendly and the entire business had a really good feeling about it:) I told them what I needed, they asked some questions, were very honest about what they could and could not do with our original 15 year old screens that were a sort of custom type screen. I left my screens and when they were ready in a week, True View called and I swung by a picked them up! Their showroom is very cool, they have some very nice ideas on display. Would love to have more work by this company!
Description of Work: I needed to have my window screens rescreened. I looked on Angie's List and found a Big Deal - 5 rescreenings for $99. I took the deal. Dropped my screens off and then returned a week later! Great experience, awesome rescreen for a very affordable price.

+ -1 moreJanuary 8, 2013 In the time since this review was written, True View, and particularly Jamie has gone out of his way to make up for the experience. It takes a real professional to swallow hard and then go all out to fix the problems. This is exactly what True View has done.No job is perfect, and it is how a company steps up to fix a problem that determines their committment to thir industry and customer service.We have had several contacts since the problem and in each instance, they have been professional and well priced. I would use them again and, indeed, I plan to have them put in the glass for my new door and the windows above the door. Give these guys a chance, they will work hard for it.
Description of Work: I ordered three custom windows from True View in October and later added window tinting on three small windows.The tinting was done well and we are satisfied with this piece. The field supervisor, Troy Lowe, was to come out for a final measurement before the windows were actually put on order. He never showed up, so the previous measurements were used. As luck would have it , the outside fit was perfect, however the depth of the windows in the opening was 1/2" too small from front to back, leaving a huge gap between the existing dry wall in the opening and the window so large that you could see the wood and the word "Tyvex" in the gap between the window and the opening. I called True View and told them that the repair which needed to be done was going to cost $500.00 and that we needed to talk about a solution. Troy was supposed to come out and take a look at it to propose a solution. Troy never came out, never called- nothing; but a work crew showed up with boxes of caulk and started filling in the spaces around one of the windows. I told them to stop so that I could call Troy because caulk would shrink and this was not an acceptable solution. An acceptable solution would have been 1. To reset the windows so that they fit the opening (not possible because of the "fins" that make the window watertight) 2. to fill in the gap with joint compound and then texturize and paint or 3. insert styrofoam or wood between the window and the opening then compound over it and proceed. Even the workmen who showed up with the caulk said that since it would shrink, that it was not a long term solution. To be clear, they indicated that caulk was ALL that they were supposed to install. Rebecca at True View agreed with me that we needed to stop the work, have Troy come out and all find a solution. On December 7, 2011 Troy showed up at the door wanting to insert metal U channels in the windows. We told him that the U channels made the windows look cheap and that we wanted a solution that included mud and tape on the windows. We were trying to work with him and got a quote for the repair from another contractor for $330.00 and Troy said that they would rather fix it themselves- we agreed IF it could be fixed no later than Dec. 12, 2011. He called scheduling and they called back to say that the soonest that they could do the repair was Dec. 14th; we had 12 houseguests coming for Christmas and I was not going to have family in a construction zone. Troy's attitude was, get it done on OUR schedule or do not get it done at all! I asked to speak to the owner and Troy hung up on me. I called back and asked to speak to the owner and was told that I WAS NOT ALLOWED TO TALK TO THE OWNER! I told the person that I would reverse out $330.00 of the charge and True View told me that would place a mechanic's lein on my property, even if I told them to come and get the windows. I called American Express and disputed the charge and look forward to seeing them in court- you cannot get a mechanics lein without a court judgement. Please save yourself a LOT of hassle and don;t use these people. Above all, do not take Troy Lowe at his word or you will be sorry.

+ -1 moreCalled True View after seeing the great reviews on Angie's List. It was approx 6pm. When I called in, it was "after hours" and they asked if it was an emergency and if I needed someone to board up the window. I told them it was not an emergency so they said I would be put on a follow-up list and contacted in the morning. They never called back, so I called them 4pm the following day. They had no record of my call. I asked for a quote on phone. I was told the project would cost $245. Then I asked them to apply the Angie's list discount and all of the sudden said she quoted me incorrectly, the real price was $300 and then she brought it down to $270. Things that make you go HMMMMMM. Unfortunately, I didn't have a lot of time to call other companies, so I agreed on the price and had them send out a technician. All in all, from the initial call, to the technician coming, to the installation, it took 10 days. I thought it was a long time. The technician that did the install was supposed to come between 10am -1pm and came around 1:20pm. Not cool. I also had to get my door shutter removed before the window install. I used the shutter guy that they recommended. He was good. But again, True View told me that they would contact him and coordinate his schedule with their technicians' schedule and this also fell through the cracks. The day of install, I called True View and the shutter guy to make sure they were coming on time and the shutter guy was never contacted by True View. Thankfully, he was available that day and came immediately. I would not use True View again. The final product was fine, but there were too many things needed recurrent follow-up. Also, of note, their Angie's coupons and deals are a bit questionable. On a separate occasion, they had a Big Deal $99 for 5 screens. I read the fine print which stated that the $99 did not include "will call". Did not know what that meant, so I called them and was informed the will call was the technician coming to measure the screens for fitting an that would be another $100. Not a great deal at all in my opinion.
Description of Work: Replaced a dual pane window on the side door. The window had been damaged by the landscapers. Only the outside panel was broken, but both panes were replaced. Window size 22 inches by 80 inches.

+ 0 moreThe hailstorm last year did a real number on our 50 year old home. Among the damages was a 4'x4' dual pane, low-e, slider storm window. I didn't even notice the small star for months until it graduated into a good-sized crack. By the time we decided to address the related roof damage and file an insurance claim, the crack spanned the full length of the window. I wish I could say that everything else went as well as the window repair. True View had a guy at my home the day after I called. He was very efficient, took the measurements and a sample piece of the glass and advised that although that particular type of low-e glass is no longer in production, he could match it with a newer type. Within a few days, I received a call back from True View advising that my glass was in and an appointment was made for the installation. The installer was on time and did a very quick and tidy job of replacing the damaged glass. A+ for good, no nonsense customer service!
Description of Work: True View replaced a broken window pane at my home. The original glass was of a 'low-e' variety which is no longer made. True View found a match so close that I cannot see the difference. Installation was quick and hassle-free.

+ 0 moreBuyer Beware!! I purchased the Big Deal for the replacement of five bug screens. I emailed the address listed on the deal, and after two weeks of waiting, never heard back. So my husband called to schedule them to come out and was told that for them to come out would cost an additional $95!!! I was very upset that the 'extra charge' for actually performing the deal I bought was nearly the same price as the deal!Two days later, someone came out to measure the windows, and when he was done, he said he needed to collect payment. I explained that I had already paid the $99 for the deal, and that I wasn't too happy with having to not only pay the extra $95, but to have to pay for everything before the service was actually rendered. He was shocked that I had already paid the $99, agreed with me that it didn't seem fair, and called the main office . I was then told that not only did I have to pay the extra $95 right there and then, but that I also had to pay TAX on that. So the $99 deal turned into a $194 deal, which turned into a $205 deal. I have not gotten my screens yet (I was given a large ballpark estimate of "between 1 to 5 days") but seeing the deal re-listed today, I just had to share my experience.I contacted Angie's List about this deal three days ago, and the representative agreed with me that the deal is very misleading and unfair, so I was very surprised to see it re-listed today. I feel like this company pulled a bait and switch on me because I never would have purchased the deal if I had known in advance that it would cost me $205.
Description of Work: I purchased the Big Deal for $99 for replacement of five of my window screens. So far, a representative has only come to measure my windows.

+ -1 moreWe were looking to replace 3 large single pane windows on our house with newer, more efficient double pane windows. I saw great reports about True View on Angie's List and called to set up an estimate. Paul came out that week to measure the windows and give an estimate - he was there at exactly the agreed upon time. He emailed me an estimate that same day. I asked him to change the material for the window frames (from aluminum to fiberglass) - he emailed me 3 new estimates using different materials, including fiberglass, by the next morning before I even woke up! With that email, he also sent links to their manufacturer's website with specifics on the different types of windows and included warranties. Later I inquired more about warranties and changed the design of one of the windows - Paul very quickly responded with useful information, and had a new estimate to me by the next day (again, very early in morning). We did not end up using this company, but only because I wanted to go through them, and not the window manufacturer for warranty purposes, if that need ever arose. Paul had told me that we could call either TrueView or the manufacturer in that case, but they preferred we go through the manufacturer because it is their window. Very true, but I would rather just use the install company for everything because they are the ones whom I have done business with, and have confidence in. Please understand that I am being very picky here. I would otherwise have absolutely used TrueView to replace our windows - they were very prompt in getting back to me, very forthright with all information, very helpful with all of my questions, and very courteous about the whole thing - never once did Paul make me feel like I was bothering him. This is the first time I have ever written a report on a company we did not use for service. But I felt compelled to say something about the great way they treated us (and we didn't even give them money) - So I would highly recommend TrueView (at least for a quote)

+ -1 moreChris did a great job and even went above and beyond by fixing another window's frame that had come loose from the glass without charge. My only complaint was for the unexpectedly high charge for the plastic bead cover that wasn't anticipated in the original estimate. But I'm cheap so don't let that take away from the professionalism and followup. After performing the install, Chris didn't like the way that it fit so he came out a day or so later and made it fit to his satisfaction. All at no extra charge. Reading back over this, I think I'm just a cheap sob because their service and followup were top notch. I'd recommend them to anyone.
