Trees For Needs

These guys was great. Price was great and the service was great. Had a tough palm tree that came to close to my wall. They came and removed the tree and Grinded the bottom.Would use them again for sure. Nice crew.

They were very prompted. They came out on wed and we're back on Thursday to remove the tree. They did a great job cleaning up before they left. We will use them again.

The original quote was provided by Carl a certified arborist. An itemized quote was drafted on my request allowing me to choose the level of service I needed. Also, several suggestions were made to improve the health of my citrus trees. While on the higher end of the quotes I received, it was in line with other companies. The work was scheduled to be completed at a later date. While I was not able to be present when the work was completed (out of town business obligations), permission was granted for the crew to proceed. The crew did a great job cleaning up the work area but the amount of pruning was more extensive than described in the quote. I called Trees for Needs with my concerns. Carl once again made a visit to assess the crews work. He admitted that the canopy had been reduced more than described and that some of the cuts were not as clean as he would prefer. It was his judgement that the tree would be fine and it would not need to be pruned for several years. I still question the tree's health as I have followed all the suggestions provided in the original quote (mulch, new drip irrigation, fertilizer) without much improvement in the color of the leaves. I've also had to paint the trunk for the first time since so much sun was now penetrating the canopy. Overall, the service was prompt and responsive but the miscommunication between the crew and what was detailed in the original quote was a detraction.

The owner, Carl, emailed shortly after I made contact via Angie's List. He came by within a couple of days and gave me a quote - including a discount for being an Angie's List member even though there was no deal advertised at the time. He impressed with his knowledge and gave me several hints regarding watering, soil, and pruning. He scheduled the worked for 2 days later and called to tell me his crew would be here between 7 and 8 AM. When I looked at 6:45 the 3 man crew were sitting outside in their truck waiting until 7 AM. They did an outstanding job pruning the mesquite - removing the lower branches and cutting the higher branches back from the house and our neighbor's yard. They also did a significant amount of thinning. They cut the oleanders back by more than 50% - a tough job given how tall and full of flowers they were. The citrus trees required less work but they did a good job of cleaning them up. They did an excellent job of cleaning up when they were done - leaving the yard cleaner than when they started work. I would certainly use this company again.

I didnt get a chance to use them before the expiration of the big deal.

Starting from providing the quote, to scheduling the service, and performing the service everything was perfect. The team showed up on time and did an excellent job with all the tasks that were supposed to be done. They cleaned up everything as well.

Excellent service! Working with Carl and his wife was a dream, they were fast, courteous, painless. The crew who did the work were very knowledgeable, did great work, cleaned everything thoroughly, and Carl checked back a day later to make sure we were happy with all the work that was done. Our trees are happy, we are VERY happy! We will use Trees for Needs again in a heartbeat.

They showed up on time, did their work quickly, cleaned up after themselves (didn't let palm fronds fall into the wash behind our house), and gave advice on how to care for my trees.

They were great! Kim was pleasant to work with. They came out, looked at the tree, made a few recommendations for fertilizer, watering, and a proposal for the cost of trimming it. They had a $99 coupon on Angie's List at the time, so all in all I barely paid over $100 out of pocket for what I thought was a great trim job! Not too much, not too little, the tree looks much happier and the guys who came out to do it were very friendly. When I mentioned I'd love to get some of the lemons from the higher branches, they picked them out and put aside a bunch of lemons for me on our patio. Also, we were scheduled for Saturday but Kim called Friday to see if I was around as they were in the area and could come earlier. Worked for me, then I had Saturday morning free!

Carl came out and looked over our trees and instructed me on how I could improve on the watering. We agreed on his trimming the tangerine tree and he sold me liquid fertilizer (although expensive) it will work immediately as it is liquid. He was not in a hurry which was so appreciated. He sent 3 workers out for trimming. They were polite and got right to work. THe tree looks great. Unfortunately I lost all the buds for next years crop due to the tree flowering early because of our warm winter. OH Well, the trimming needed to be done and I was a late in calling them. What I also appreciated is Carl called after the trimming to check if I was happy. Indeed I am happy. Clean up was great too. The only thing I am not happy with is the quote he gave me for the large acaia tree in the front yard. But I will definately call upon Trees for Needs and Carl again. Give them a try.

The two man-crew worked about three hours on three unruly mesquites. They were certainly expert and spent a lot of time up in the trees, with excellent cleanup and haul-away. We've had other crews over the years that fell short of satisfaction. These guys nailed it! And Carl and Kim (and of course Angies) made it easy. We will definitely go with Trees For Needs in the future.

It turned out really well. They did a really good job and they were right on time. The crew was fast and efficient and they cleaned up after themselves. It was very good. We paid extra to have the stomps ground down and because the pine tree was about 30 feet high, we paid a little extra on that one too. The owner came over and gave us advice on some of other trees and gave us some really good information about how to keep our citrus seeds going. We renegotiated a new price but we felt it was quite fair. We’ve had that done by other companies and their price is quite competitive. They sent out several different crews for different jobs but I was impressed that each crew that came out was very good, very polite and very efficient.

Of the five trees I had removed 4 were mesquites and 1 was an ironwood. Two were fairly small and three were medium sized. They did a great job removing and were quick. Stump grinding had to be scheduled afterward. They wound up farming this out to another company because they had too much work but it was still done just as well. I would use this company again.

They did a great job. They cleaned up excellent after the fact and left no mess behind. They were very prompt and provided a wonderful service.

They did a very good job and did everything the said they would do. I think they use the $99 deals in hopes you have a larger job, but we just needed to have some bushes trimmed and they were willing to do it for the deal price. I think they just work in the small jobs at the end of day, but they were willing to do it and did it while we were at work. We came home and it was all finished and they were gone, but everything was done that we asked, and they did a nice job cleaning up and hauling away the debris away. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Both the owner, who provided a lot of information about the ironwood, and the crew were knowledgeable and courteous. The removal of the dead branches resulted in a significant visual improvement, and the information provided gives us a game plan for going forward., We will use their services again.

They obviously do a great job in making sure they call you back if they miss a call, they call to confirm appointments the day prior, and they show up when they say they will show up. The owner is very knowledgeable and easy to work with, obviously looking to do the right thing and not just make a buck. The guys that came to actually do the work were efficient and did a good job.

They came out and I had them do a hedge. He didn’t know that I purchased the deal from Angie’s List and tried to charge me $300 for that service. He then went ahead and did do the work after i told him that purchased the Big Deal. I also want to add that he did not do what I fully asked.
