The crew did a fabulous job (and quickly) once they got started. It took a while to get the crew out to our house to do the work, but other than that one communication/understanding glitch, all was well! I'm really pleased with the end result, and I appreciate the quality of the work

BAD! I saw Toro Construction 2415 W. Paradise Lane 602-789-6929 listed. Block Fencing and Gates. I need masonry work done for Monument Sign bases and Fence embellishments at residential developments. A guy answered the phone: "Toro Construction", but did not say his name. I stated my name and company and asked his name. He said: "I'm the guy who sells block fences. Call me back if you need block fences", then he hung up. How RUDE! How amazingly rude! I did not expect to find a masonry company specifically for sign work. In over 30 years, I never have, but many masonry contractors have enjoyed the work that I gave them. The guy I used for years just got older and now has health problems. This guy did not even give me a chance to explain what I wanted.

Overall I am pleased. They were honest (to the point of telling me how to do this myself for much less), fair, and did great work. My only criticism is that they were late (understandable) but did not call, and the crew did not clean up as well as I expected.

Dan is awesome! He is very knowledgeable, and took time explaining the build, including walking me through the zoning and permit process. His crew arrived on time and worked hard to finish the project. Halfway through, I requested a change to the placement of the gate after the crew had already built past the spot where I wanted it. I was expecting to be told it was too late, though he didn't even hesitate. He said no problem and instructed his crew to cut down the block (they had just put up) so the gate could be installed where I wanted it. And he didn't charge me extra for the additional work. The crew did a great job, Dan is a pleasure to work with, and I am very happy with the block wall. I highly recommend Dan Toro Construction!

Dan is the Man. Very professional and promptly gave me an estimate for the block fence. Dan showed up on time for the estimate a week before Thanksgiving. We also got three other estimates to do the same project and elected Toro construction. Dan felt like the neighbor you would like to have and trust. He's good people. The project started on the 9th and finished up by noon on the 10th. Installers showed up at daybreak both days and kept the area reasonably picked up. The colors matched up to the existing fence nicely. I will definitely call on these guys again for future projects and recommend them to everyone.

I chose Toro Construction for my block wall construction because they had the experience in the valley, they were registered and had a very good bond rating. After I contacted Dan at Toro, we scheduled a visit for him to look over the project and to give me an estimate. He was very professional when he arrived and we discussed options and price. Before he left, I had an estimate in hand and a tentative start date. I discussed the project and quote with neighbor and we decided to increase the wall height by one row, which Dan had no problem adding to the project for a slight increase in fee. On the first day of the project, Dan's crew arrived at about 6am and tore down the old fence, and started digging and laying concrete for the footings. They were done before 9:35am. On the second day of the project, Dan's crew arrived about 6am and built the wall and cleaned up by 10:24am. Later in the afternoon, they came by and picked up the old fence and hauled away. It is a cleanly built wall that looks solid and I am extremely pleased with the craftsmanship. Dan even left me some extra block to make repairs in the future, but I'm thinking of putting them on my other wall in the yard to bring that one up a little higher and I may have them come back to build me some gates. It is my honest opinion that you could not go wrong hiring Dan and his crew at Toro Construction for you next block wall project.

Dan started by giving a bid that was honest and realistic, his workers arrived right on time were professional and got right on the job. They did a great job, My wife and I couldn't be happier. They did a great job. Price was very reasonable. Work was top notch. Dan and his crew were great to work with. We highly recommend them. They did everything they promised and more. In fact, we have already given out their contact information to several neighbors who commented on how nice the block wall was and asked for their card.

I called Toro Construction about building and installing a masonry block fence around our new home. Dan was able to come out and give us an estimate on the same day. Both my husband and I were very impressed with his knowledge about these fences and his willingness to work within the scope of our HOA requirements and the demands of our design. We were told the timeframe for installation and the whole project went like clockwork. The crew was on the job when expected each day. The job was to be completed in 3 days and at the end of 2nd day the fence was up and the crew had cleaned and raked the area and left it like the fence had been standing from the day the house was built. On the 3rd day the gates and ironwork were installed: 3 days promised, 3 days delivered. We would highly recommend Toro Construction to anyone who is in need of a block fence.

The whole project was done timely. Dan was straight forward with his estimate on the phone. He gave us the best price out of the three contractors we consulted with. Dan was able to fit our project in his schedule with a very short notice due to a cancellation. He and his crew did exactly what he promised to do and we got the well constructed walls that we wanted.

Dan did a great job on repairing our block fence. He was very responsive, competitive price, and excellent work. His employees were also excellent. We would recommend him without hesitation. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

This was the second fence block wall I have purchased from Toro Construction. Everything went as planned and timing was spot on. Dan was great to work with and so were his crews. One section of our fence has ornamental iron in it. Excellent workmanship. I know, because I have worked for 2 fence companies in Phoenix and was an estimator for them. Well done, Toro Construction! Also, the price was very good. Approx. $3,000 less than other estimates. My advice to anyone purchasing a fence is not to accept an estimate if an estimator has not come to your property to look over the jobsite.

The owner was very friendly and responsible. He came with his crew on Monday. They work for three or four days because they had to wait for the city inspector to check for their work. They did their job on time. The qualite of the fence is excellent. They made and installed the gates. They did a good job. The only thing that I did not like was the fact that they threw all the soil from the digging into my backyard.

They were friendly and professional. They were also on time. I felt like they did quality work.

I called Dan Pennell for quote, they had a good rating on Angies List. He was prompt and professional with the quote. It came back a little higher than 2 other companies I got quotes from. Dan seemed the most professional, so we went with them. I called him to revise the length of the wall before they came to build, we had a miscommunication. When his crew came to build, they started to build the wall higher - when I noticed, they stopped, and called Dan. We agreed there had been a miscommunication and split the cost of the extra, unused block. They tore down the old wooden fence between our backyard and our neighbor's, and put up a 6 foot block wall. It took them one full day. For some reason, the wall they erected was about 4-6 inches taller than our other existing block walls on the other sides of our yard. When I questioned this, Dan said it could be because of a couple reasons. I wished they would have solved this problem, it wasn't a huge deal, but I noticed it. The wall looks fine a couple months later now - I've since had it stuccoed. All in all, a good experience, with a couple of hitches along the way.

Daniel arrived the next day after I called him for a quote. Gave me several options for repair and when his crew could do the work. I opted to have the crew arrive the next day. The crew arrived on time, quickly and quietly did the work and left. The work was on time and as promised. Just what you need from a contractor.

Dan was very responsive and helpful when he took down the specs, and fast in providing a quote. Additionally, he was very helpful in follow-up conversations as my neighbors and I went through the decision process on who to hire, and when to start. Out of 6 different companies interviewed, Toro came in as one of the least expensive, and seemed the most knowledgeable. When they performed the job, the job crew was very professional. Diego did a great job, and made sure some special requests were handled properly...including irrigation blocks being placed in key areas, sinking my prior gate stopper in concrete in the correct place, and making a small repair to the old wall. Additionally, they put my neighbors gate bolts in the new wall without even being asked. The walls look professional and high quality. I would hire Toro again.

The price was good and they were in and out in one day; and I would highly recommend them. I would tell my neighbors to go for them; just make sure you watch them though; you got to watch everybody and make sure they dig quite down deep enough. If some of their workers try to mess up; not the owner though, he comes, checks and lets me know. But you have got to make sure and double check. Bring your rulers out there once they are dug down deep enough; then forget about it and the wall goes up perfect. He gave me the price and it was exactly what he said. He told me that it was going to be $22.50 per running foot and that's it; so I could figure out my own pricing. The quality of service was great; and they were there on time and finished before I had even gone over. I was going over and expected half of it to be done and it was already done. I paid my bill and that was it. I am definitely going to use them again in the future as I am buying two more houses. In fact, I am calling them to do the rest of my fencing.

initial contact with Dan was very professional then he referred me to Jesus for the iron gate work that I needed done. Jesus was nice enough and did a pretty good job. Paid him and not Toro so I don't know how affiliated they are.His English is not the best but good enough i guess. No one wore identifying shirts or name tags so I dinged them on the professionalism.

Toro put a six foot block wall around my back yard 17 years ago, and it still looks great!! These block walls really last!

Excellent service, best price, and very professional and timely.

The quality of work with Toro was very good. They showed up when they said they would, and were competent. Not sure how they will fair, however when they're required to hire "eligible" workers. The work crew left a big mess, and since no one spoke English, my wife's concern about cleanup were unheeded. I had to call Dan to have them come back out and clean up the site.

He called and set up an appointment with me. He called back to say he had to do something with his family and couldn't come out.

The owner, Dan, came and gave us a bid on the job. He arrived when scheduled and did a thorough assessment of exactly what we wanted done. He also checked the city codes and found out that our city required a building permit (most cities do not); he gave us all the information needed to obtain the permit; I was impressed with how thorough he was with all this. His price was around $800 less than an estimate from a landscaping company for the same job. He was able to start work within a week. The whole process took 4 days due to a required city inspection after the footings were dug (if not for the inspection, it would have taken only 2 days; Dan charged an extra $100 for the extra trip for his crew, but told us about that up front). The final product looks great, and is much stronger than the original walls in our yard. They cleaned up the site thoroughly. The only complaint we had was that three times they had to postpone times for starting work, but didn't call to inform us.
