+ -1 moreThey were absolutely terrible they showed up about two hours late without a mask none of them had a mascon one guy reeked of cigarette smoke and then it reeked in my apartment and my new apartment they scratched my table and then overcharged me and told me in an email that they were going to reimburse me for that charge and no one is responding to me and I’ve been fighting with them for a month to get this money back and no one’s responding it’s a terrible company don’t hire them

+ -1 moreThey were very good and very punctual. They were quick about getting the items off and placing them where my brother wanted them in the garage. They were very quick; it wasn't like moving furniture. My brother is going to be using them again soon whenever he gets a place.
Description of Work: My brother used Starving Students Movers to get some stuff out of storage and move it to my house. I set it up. They picked up 13 or 14 boxes and they moved them to my address.

+ -1 moreDO NOT GET THIS COMPANY TO GIVE YOU A PRICE QUOTE YOU WILL BE OVER CHARGED
Description of Work: My wife and I sold our home in the West Valley and are purchasing a home in the far East Valley of Arizona Mileage is 62 miles one way. We called for price quote and they told my wife that they charge by the weight of all the furniture . I understand that if I was going out of state , when I confronted the sales person on 12/18/2012 at 7:08 pm he told me because it's long distance in the state we do it that way also but when I tried to get him to give me a price the other way his comment to me was that the price is what it is , meaning that you can take it our leave it , so I decided to leave it. There is a reason why the company is called Starving Students Movers because they have no no idea how to treat the public If you use these people then you need to see a shrink.

+ -1 moreWe received poor customer service, and it took an exorbitant amount of time to complete the move. Movers were unskilled. DO NOT HIRE STARVING STUDENTS MOVERS.
Description of Work: In October 2010 we hired Starving Students movers to move us. Two movers arrived when three were hired and they started two hours late. We moved ½ mile away and the move took two trips and lasted over twelve hours. 11am-12:30am. The movers put a hole in one wall, an 18 inch dent in the corner of a second wall and a five in gouge in our oak stair rail. We had to pack many items in our vehicles because the movers did not adequately pack the semi and ran out of room. We had to make several trips in our own cars. This was the first day of an ongoing legal nightmare. Starving Students initially agreed to pay for the damage to our new home caused by the movers without question until we submitted the estimate of repair. We filed a complaint with the Arizona Attorney General’s office and we have had to hire our own attorney to get the damage paid for and to date (March 2, 2012 ) we still they have not made restitution.
