Speedy Furniture Repair

They were amazing. I had another well known company come to look at the chair. They said it was impossible to repair. I showed them the two armchairs and asked about removing the arms, they said impossible. I was about to replace the chair when I tried Angie's List and found Speedy. The chair looks like new. Even if you knew where the damages were, you cannot tell. And this chair had a difficult finish with crackling and color variation. They then repaired our dining room table, which did not function well. It was so difficult to insert the extensions that one leg had broken in the process. They repaired the leg and repaired the mechanism. Now it works perfectly. I was almost sure that the arms could not be removed from two armchairs. We wanted to use them as sidechairs when we purchased two new armchairs. "No problem", they said and accomplished it beautifully. They look great. These people are craftsmen. And they were pleasant, timely and helpful. The Best!

I felt they were little expensive. They did very nice and beautiful work. They were very nice people. The two men that came were very, very nice.

They arrived at my house to pick up the pieces as promised. We had a good discussion of the possibilities for refinishing the furniture. As I showed them the pieces, they had more suggestions. We settled on the treatments, the colors, and the prices and they took the furniture. The furniture was ready when promised and delivered back to me. Both chairs and the dresser look beautiful. They even used real leather on the chair seats because the nagauhyde I had chosen was back-ordered. The caning pattern they chose looks perfect, as do the colors of the cane and the leather. The dresser is no longer warped, and the grain of the wood shows to great advantage. Here is a photo of one of the chairs. I do not have a "before", but the cane had been ripped out of the back, leaving a big hole and broken wood. The seats, uincluding the supports, were in tatters. The wood was in good shape, so I just had that cleaned up and it looks perfect.

They were superb. I will use them again when I need them and would highly recommend them to anyone needing furniture repair.

Great! This was great quality, solid oak furniture that needed some serious attention. They were flexible, a quality I greatly appreciate and did a beautiful job. The bedroom set and desk/hutch/chair looed better than when I bought them, more than 20 years ago. A fantastic service. Do not dispose of good quality furniture without consulting with this great team. They will save it!

The service was fine. The only problem was that they took a section of our couch and indicated that it would be returned in a week. Scheduling was difficult both to have someone come out to look at the couch and in returning the couch section on time. I had to call to schedule a return delivery, and the delivery was delayed due to the Fourth of July holiday. The repair was awesome, though.

I was delighted with the results on the large coffee table and then requested the children's table, bed and large couch repaired. The work on the coffee table was exceptional so it was easy to follow up with the additional services. It was a pleasure working with Manny and I certainly recommend Speedy Furniture Repair for any type of furniture refinishing and / or correcting nicks and scratches.

I have an old 3-piece bookcase that my grandmother had had built. I wanted its many coats of paint stripped so I could have it refinished if the wood was good enough. I also have a drop-leaf table that had a scratched top, and one of its intricately carved drawer pulls had gone missing during a move. I was able to make an appointment for an estimate soon after my initial call. Gustavo and Manny came out, and I was given one quote for stripping and staining the bookcase, a second for stripping and repainting (should the wood turn out to be unattractive), and a third for refinishing the top of the table and manufacturing and attaching a new drawer pull. The work was going to be very expensive, but I was impressed that they took my concern for my family heirloom so seriously, and that they were so confident that they could replicate the existing drawer pull and restore the table. I gave them a deposit on the table, and they took both pieces. After they?d stripped most of the 7 layers of paint off the bookcase, they called to ask me to come down to their workshop to look at the wood and decide whether I wanted it stained or painted. It had such a striking grain, I chose to have it stained and sealed, picked a color and finish from samples, and gave them a deposit on that work too. They had the furniture longer than I expected, and I paid more than I expected when I first thought about having the work done, but I couldn?t be happier with the results. The bookcase is gorgeous, the tabletop shows no signs of ever having been scratched, and the two drawer pulls are identical. Furthermore, the office manager stayed in touch with me, and their customer service was excellent.

Everything went great. I was told by a previous furniture repairman that this table could not be fixed. I got on Angie's list and came across this company. I got a hold of them and the rest is history. One very happy customer!

I had two dining sets that I wanted to refinish. I called Speedy's and left a message (their phone system is bad). They never bothered to return my call.

Our Ethan Allen dining room table is beautiful, it looks better than the day we bought. The Tommy Bahama bar table is also beautiful. Absolutely recommend Speedy Furniture Repair, they take pride in their craftsmanship...A1 family company.

I was very pleased with the outcome. The original tabletop finish would not clean or polish properly due to the original finish. We use the table everyday so food spills, fingerprint and arm smudges when wiped off would leave a cloudy finish on the wood. I never found a satisfactory cleaner/polish that worked well. Gustavo reassured me that the original finish was too glossy and suggested he redo it with the same shade of stain but with a semi gloss finish. It turned out beautiful and the tabletop is a dream to keep clean. i am very pleased.

When I initially called Speedy Furniture Repair, we were in the middle of moving to another house. I was on a tight timeline. My contact person, Manny, arranged to come to my house and give me an estimate right away! Manny promised my furniture would be refinished and returned to me at the new address, on the date that I selected! Manny took careful notes about my job on his invoice. I received a copy with all the details and price clearly spelled out on this document. Not only was my furniture ready on schedule, they delivered it a week early! Their attention to detail was just incredible. They exceeded my expectations! I was so thrilled with the results, I sent another large piece for refinishing! The quality of their work mirrors finishes on furniture directly from furniture manufacturers!

It went very good, they are very professional and I would highly recommend to anybody, especially antiques or collectables.

Arrived on time, looked over job, decided they could do repairs on site, were very neat and did not leave a mess.

Called to get a quote on refinishing my headboard. The person on the phone said to email pics if I wanted to avoid a non refundable $65 fee to come look and give a quote. I emailed the pics and called back. He wasn't available so they said he would call me back. Two days later I decided to call him. He quoted me a price but seemed unsure, (probably cause he didn't get to actually see it). So I said when could he come and he said he would call back. Never did and when I called again I got the run around. Pretty bad...

Our house is only 5 years old but the kitchen cabinet doors & drawers had spots where the stain & finish was peeling away. Apparently the original cabinet company put a very thin stain/lacquer coat on when they assembled them. Speedy Furniture's estimate was on par with one other that we received. They charged a $25 estimate fee but it was taken off the total price once we contracted with them. They provided references for us to call, all of whom gave them rave reviews. Manny & Gustavo arrived at the house as scheduled & began dismantling the doors, drawers, knobs, handles & hinges. They wrapped them carefully in moving blankets & numbered everything for reassembly. They took the drawer faces & doors back to the shop to work on them there. They covered all the openings in the cabinet facing with tape & paper, & sanded then re-touched the stain, matching the color PERFECTLY. They returned the next day to spray 4 coats of lacquer, sanding in between each coat. They created a wind tunnel to direct the fumes outdoors & had a fan sucking the air out the whole time they were spraying. They cleaned up very well before leaving. Two weeks later they returned with the refinished drawer fronts & doors. Again, the color match was PERFECT. The finish is a smooth satin finish that reflects the light nicely. Manny & Gustavo carefully & precisely re-attached hinges, knobs & handles & returned everything to its proper place. We could not be happier with the finished product! We were so pleased with the way everything turned out that we are having them do the same thing to the cabinets in both bathrooms in the house.

They were very professional. Came out and gave me a price and we talked about what could be done. We scheduled a time for them to pick up the piece. Several days after picking it up they came back with a small piece of it that had been refinished in 2 shades for my approval. I picked the one I wanted. A week later the completed piece was back in my living room. I love it. They did an excellent job. I definitely will use them again.

I had received a realtively inexpensive Simmons faux leather sectional for free. Unfortunately, after 2 months of use, I realized why it was free, it had some internal frame damage. Over time, the feel of sitting on one side of the sectional changed and I eventually noticed a board pushing against the material on the front side of the main sectional piece. I thought it would be an easy fix, so I removed the staples from the fabric to look inside the frame. Well it seems the springs were pushing against the board against the material, with the tension of all of the springs, I knew it would not be something I could fix. I looked on Yelp first for furniture repair places and found Speedy Furniture Repair. It only had 1 review, but it also referred to the 40ish positive reviews on Angie's List! I signed up for an account and read all of the amazing reviews, and I am glad I did. As a bonus they were less than 2 miles from my place. I left them a message on 1-18-13, and did not recieve a call back until 1-22-13. That is the only issue I had. They called back and schedule an appointment for Friday 1-25-13 at 4pm, and we right on time. Manny and Cowboy came in to a**** the damage. Both men were very polite and professional. Manny took pictures to send to "the boss" to get a quote. I had already thought I didn't want to spend more than $400, ideally I was thinking $300, since I got it for free, if it was more, I would be going furniture shopping! He came back with a quote of $475, looks like I was going shopping. I let him know that I only wanted to spend $300, so he called the boss, and came back with $350, but they would just work on it as they had time and not right away, which I was happy with. I told them as long as I had it by 2-9-13, I would be good, Cowboy assured that it would be done by then. He then stated that it would be an additional $75 for pick-up/ delivery. More than I wanted to spend, so I let him know I would arrange the delivery somehow! He called the boss again and since I was so close, they would charge $25. Ok, SOLD! They picked it up on Friday and I paid half, the other half was due at time of delivery. Well did I luck out with all of the rain! I got a call and an email (luckily) on Monday, 1-28-13, that the repairs have been completed. I was shocked, first I was in a meeting when they called, but was checking my email, and was able to respond to their email. I am glad Manny did both. It seems that with all of the rain Phoenix was receiving this weekend they were unable to do any spraying (painting and finishing I am assuming) so they had to work on m sectional. It was delivered at 4:30 as they stated, and looks and feels better than it did originally. Cowboy let me know he replaced any of the particle board with hardwood too!

The company did come out on time and were professional BUT the doors on the furniture are uneven and they poke out from the china hutch. I believe they were not installed correctly. I will be calling them to come back and correct the doors to line up. Also they were to get back to me on finding other parts but never called me back. I may give them another chance to redeem themselves. I will let you know.

Manny and his crew did a great job. I understand they took the chair totally apart and reassembled it. The missing chuck of wood was filled in, shaped and stained. You can hardly tell it's not wood. Everything was re-glued. The chew marks were filled in and stained. You can now actually sit and rock in it. The chair was ready in the time promised This chair has great sentimental value to me as it's the chair I rocked and nursed my babies in. I can hardly wait for grandbabies now. Thank you Manny!

I just could not stand the poor paint job the previous owner did on the kitchen and bathroom cabinets. So after seeing the positive reviews, I thought I would give them a try. They came by, took a cabinet door to paint some samples so I could decide which color to select. Then they worked in the house for a week stripping and refinishing the frames of the cabinets. They replaced all of the sides of the counters (as the sides of the kitchen island were full of holes). They repaired splits in the wood, rebuilt one drawer and repaired another one. they were diligent in keeping the house clean during the work by putting drop cloths over the walkways they used. Manny, Gustavo and Cowboy were the utmost professionals. I would have no reservations calling them again for other projects...which I am considering
