Speedy Furniture Repair

I had an old (20+ yrs) la-z-boy recliner that exhibited recalcitrant behavior for many months, finally jamming in the partially-reclined position. Nearly had to be air-evac'ed from its clutches! I was about to junk it but on a whim had inquired of Speedy if they repaired jammed recliners, and they said yes. So we fixed an appointment for next day. They arrived on time. First impression was very positive - they were friendly and spreasd a large sheet on the floor prior to working on the chair. They soon diagnosed a missing screw which could misalign the mechanism and jam it. At this point I asked for an estimate & they quoted a surprisingly reasonable amount. I then added that I wanted a substitute recliner moved from the den to the living room and the repaired unit moved to the den (den is part of my garage). (My interim observation that all la-z-boy recliners are not equal may be of interest. The substitiute one was also a la-z-boy but did not recline fully; it was impossible to get really comfortable in it. Yet it was not defective. It pays to try before you buy!) They supplied and installed an appropriate screw. I also wanted the mechanism lubricated, which they also did. Then they moved the recliners per my wishes. I have nothing but praise for these two gentlemen (Manny and ?). They were prompt, did an excellent job - I couldn't believe how smoothly the recliner operated after they were done, and the cost almost made me feel guilty. I do wonder why two recent clients gave them a "C"; I did not notice a rebuttal by the firm. But hey, a new la-z-boy recliner of equal performance would have set me back nearly $1000 so am I happy? You bet I am. Thanks, Speedy!

On 10/19/15 (Monday), they came to my home to give me an estimate on repairing the arm cushion on a leather couch, that our puppy had chewed. That day, they were very professional, calling me to let me know they would be about 15 minutes late & very professional when here. They said they'd call me by Friday. Friday comes & goes...no call. So I called them on the following Tuesday & they said they'd call me on Friday (again). Again, no call. It's now 11/15/15 & still no call. However, on 11/9/15, I called another company, they came that day, picked up my couch & delivered it repaired, two days later. It looks brand new!

The work on the secretary leg and the dining room chairs turned out well. ?Unfortunately the stains did not turn out well. ?The end table came out too dark, and the dining table came out more orange than desired. They did not polyurethane either of the table tops as they should.

Our teak dining set was at least 15 years old and had seen better days as it has been outside on various patios since we moved to Arizona in 2003 (prior to that it was on a screen porch in Atlanta). It was badly deteriorated and I really didn't think it was salvageable. I am super-picky about the finish on my furniture in general, so when Speedy gave us an estimate of $850 for refinishing the set, I was reluctant to proceed. Ultimately the thought of having to go out, locate another patio set, pay $1200 for it and then figure out how to get it home and what to do with the old set won the day however, so over came Speedy and off went our patio set. When they brought it back (less than two weeks later) I was stunned at the transformation. Not only did they do a meticulous job of taking each slatted chair apart, refinishing the individual slats and then replaced old/worn hardware, the finish on the table and chairs itself is beautiful. I think the set looks better than it did when we bought it. It looks like a much more expensive piece of furniture than it is, possibly too nice for our patio now! I will definitely use Speedy in the future.

The table had been chewed on by the dog and now I cant even tell its been repaired. The piano leg was broken, they took off the leg and repaired it. Looks excellent. They were professional and speedy.

The cost included pickup and delivery. The two (2) man crew were friendly and proficient in their assessment and review of our needs. The chairs were returned earlier than promised and we would use them again.

The team from Speedy Furniture Repair came to my home to inspect an electric recliner that had a large support slat that had been broken during a move. They were prompt, clean, courteous, quiet, and affordable. They explained what was going on with my recliner, what needed to be done, and also found that there was a broken screw and some other abnormal wear on the back of the recliner. The recliner was one of two that were on ends of a leather sectional. When I was initially trying to compare the damage to of the broken recliner to the normally functioning recliner, I inadvertently severed the electrical cord of the second recliner in the reclining mechanism. During the initial service call, the team transferred the functioning cord from the damaged recliner which they were taking for repair to the other recliner so that I at least had one functioning recliner while they did the work. When they were testing the second recliner to ensure proper function, they also noted that there was an abnormal fit to the recliner as it adjoined the next piece of the sectional, and promised to fix that in my home once they delivered the initial recliner. I paid for 50% of the estimate up front which I feel is very reasonable, and my recliner was ready in 10 days as promised. They also fixed the second piece upon delivery of the first. All of their work was flawless. My leather sectional is the first high quality piece of furniture I have ever bought and I am appreciative of Speedy Furniture Repair's excellent service. Not only are they very professional, but are personable and easy to deal with, plus they were kind to my dog which is important to me. Thank you very much for seamless furniture repair.

Manny and Gustavo arrived on time for the first appointment as scheduled. They assessed the issue, explained to me why the structure was not stable and how they could fix it. It took them one week to fix the bed, which they had to take, work on it at their offices and returned in one week as promised. Manny and Gustavo were professional. I highly recommend them!

The guys were very prompt in picking up the drawers and giving me the estimate of cost. The repair was completed within a couple of weeks and they came back out and re-installed. I have used them before and will use them again, I'm sure.

We had a Thomasville table that had become worn, and we had a local furniture repairman, Glen Davis from Furniture Service, out to fix it. He was recommended by Thomasville. He treated it in our home multiple times, never satisfactorily. He finally ruined the finish, and we did not trust him to take it away to refinish it. We contacted Speedy Furniture Repair because of Angie's List reviews. I called to make an appointment and the secretary got right back to me. Then the craftsmen, Manny and Gustavo, after finishing a job near me, came by a day early. They sized up the situation and gave us a bid. We were impressed with their professionalism and depth of knowledge, so we let them take the table. Several days later they had us go over to their shop to see their progress and decide on final finishing. They only had the table for about one week. We are very pleased with the workmanship and final result.

They came to my home, gave me an estimate, took the items to be refinished, and about two weeks later called to schedule the return of the items. While they were here they repaired the hinge on a cheval mirror at no charge. All of the items that were refinished looked great! I would use them again and I highly recommend them.

The BEST! Although they are advertised as furniture repair, I will tell you my story. Last year I bought an old chair and instead of checking with Angie's list for upholstery, I followed a friend's recommendation. (first mistake) The cost was reasonable, I provided the fabric. When I got it back, it was horrible! The back cushion was 3 inches higher than the back of the chair and the seat cushion was 2 inches longer on one side. When you looked at it, people thought I had reupholstered it and I don't sew! I lived with it for a year and finally could not stand it any longer. I went onto Angie's list and found Speedy Furniture Repair on Indian School. The building is very low key but inside were pieces of furniture being repaired, varnish stripped and the work was great! I showed Manny and Gustavo my chair and Gustavo was horrified at the quality of upholstery! I left the chair. I only wanted 2 cushion redone along with a complicated Chinese chair cushion.( I wanted double binding around the edges on the Chinese cushion.) One week later......VERY SPEEDY....I picked up the chair. Transformed into a lovely piece of furniture and the Chinese cushion is perfect! Although the rest of the chair is poorly done, the 2 beautiful cushions hide the chair's flaws. My dog had done a lot of damage to a pair of 72" long low 1970's sofas and it was finally time for repairs. I telephoned Speedy (based on the Angie reviews) and had an appointment for an estimate within a short time. Manny and Gustavo arrived on time and were very careful and thorough in evaluating the damage and calculating whether one sofa could be repaired using the undamaged fabric from both sofas. They provided an estimate to use the fabric from both to repair one, to rebuild 6 cushions and to add taller legs - an estimate 30% lower than the other estimate I had (not including the 5% Angie discount). Speedy took both sofas on 1/9 with an estimated return time of 3 weeks. To my delight, I received a telephone call from Speedy on 1/14 telling me the sofa was finished and setting up a delivery for 1/16. The completed sofa was returned on 1/16 with the work done exactly as promised. Both gentlemen are clearly knowledgable, very professional and a pleasure to work with as is their office staff. If I need future work done, Speedy is the company I will call.

They work great now! I have struggled with them for years and now they move easily. They were professional, punctual and I would definitely use them again!

I have rarely dealt with such craftsmen. They are knowledgeable. They are prompt and excellent communicators if something should arise. They steered me in the right direction when I wanted to go for the high gloss by making a sample board I could live with and learn from. Of course, their recommendation was much wiser. I even had them come back and work on some doors both interior and exterior which I had purchased from Home Depot. Apparently the manufacturer/vendor of the doors Autumn Wood had gone out of business. The Big Orange Box didn't seem to care my doors were splitting on the joints of the wood. Light and air and bugs flowing in and out. "So sorry" was their response then CLICK. Once again Gustavo to the rescue. Some magical mixture epoxy (not off the shelf wood putty) and my doors are air and light tight. One door which gets more sun than the others started to get a tiny crack and Gustavo was back here immediately.

It took 3 or 4 attempts to get them to return a phone call. When they finally called back, we set up an appointment, and they showed up on time, which I appreciated. However, it took them a month and half to provide me with a written estimate and their estimate was 200% - 400% higher than the other contractors I received estimates from. I would highly recommend people look elsewhere. (This company instead of clear, open, and timely communication practices, prices itself outside of the market if they are not interested in a job and that is an unacceptable business practice.)

We called Speedy Repair and we set an appointment for just a few days away. The time frame was one hour and they showed up on time. They looked at the pieces, told us what they would do, we agreed on a price, and they hauled them away. They told us it could take up to ten days. They called before the week was out and said it was ready for return. We again set a time frame with a one hour range and again, they showed up on time. Our couch and love seat actually sit better than when we first bought them and look just as good. We hope to get another 18 to 20 years use out of them. I wish all companies were this easy to work with. They said what they were going to do and then they delivered exactly that. And they were nice and polite to boot.

I called to see about getting two chairs fixed: one had the seat separating from the back, the other was just sort of collapsing entirely. They came promptly within the day after my call, fixed the chairs for a reasonable price, and delivered them back to me within less than two weeks. Would certainly use them again for any type of furniture repair.

They did an awesome job! The repairs are flawless. Our three boys (in their younger yeas) used the footboard as a vault to jump onto the bed. It was in serious need of repair (sagging in the middle etc.) These guys made it brand new and SO sturdy. The repair is invisible yet amazingly sturdy. Ready for another 40 years of wear and tear. The dining room side chair cushions are completely rebuilt and wonderful. The guys were on time, polite, took time to discuss options and were genuine professionals and artists. While pricing is a wee bit high - they are WELL worth the money. We are using them for more work in the future.

This company is extremely punctual. They come within the window of time prearranged always. They are very nice and made us feel at ease. They look at the damage and provide an accurate estimate.there are no hidden costs. They pick up and deliver. The furniture we have is all wood and of good quality. The price we paid restore the beauty of the pieces to its original state. We were reluctant to call a company called speedy furniture repair- we wanted quality not speed but the name is a misnomer- they are indeed "quality furniture repair" we are grateful for the results

The damage to the press back chair occurred nearly 25 years ago. Once it is refinished like the other 5, you will not be able to tell the difference. I was amazed. The refinish process on the mission style chair is beautiful. The drawers are now sturdy and usab le. I struggled with the pricing as the cost to repair on most of the pieces exceeded the value of the piece. However, they have been sitting in my garage useless for quite some time and now can be put back to use. I have used Speedy Furniture Repair before and certainly will do so again. These guys are very professional and courteous.

They called and made an appointment. They showed up when the appointment was scheduled. They told me how many days it will be and they are back again in that many days. Their workmanship is excellent. In fact, I am going to use them again. The stools were from a bar that my son went to, all the time when he was in college. They were all split. The bar had sold them off as memorabilia so I bought them.
