Sound Landscaping

I would highly recommend Sound Landscaping to anyone. The owner, Scott, is very knowledgable and he and his crew were very professional and did an amazing job cleaning up.

Scott has done my yard for years. I asked for bi-monthly yard service, but he stopped being on time and scheduling. Each time there is a storm he disappears for up to nearly a week--granted he gets busy and I was very forgiving. He had requested I pick up dog droppings before his crew arrives--I did every time for years to be respectful. However, this last big storm I phoned and let him know I had a large shrub down in the yard. He was scheduled to do service in a few days, but got behind. Then I was told he forgot to put me on the schedule and his crew would be out Tues or Weds of this week. No show again. This time I phoned him and asked politely if he does not have the time to continue to do my yard, let me know as the grass is a foot tall and the yard has not been cleaned in 3 weeks and my next door neighbor is making comments. He never phoned and I canceled service. Scott, I would have paid you $70-80 every 2 weeks to continue service as I like the work you do. But you can't keep long term customers by ignoring their yards and promising you'll come on a particular day and disappear with no phone call. Perhaps he's best for one-time service, but if you want a reliable person who shows up look elsewhere-- as I now have to do .

They have been doing a fine job to this point. I have asked him to put in some plants, but this still hasn't happened. I will continue to inquire about the plants for landscaping, but he could definitely get this done for me! All he needs to do is put some plants in and send me the invoice, and it wouldn't be a big deal at all!

We could not be more pleased with the service and responsiveness we have received over the last three years. Most recently, we contacted Scott to come out and walk the grounds with us during our last visit. Not only did Scott come out the same day, the very next day his team showed up and started on the projects we discussed. His team is always respectful, courteous, and responsive. In addition to ongoing monthly service, Sound Landscaping has also performed tree trimming, new plants, rocks, and irrigation work.

When I called for a quote I should have realized the company wasn't professional by the way the phone was answered. I had to ask the gentleman on the phone if I was speaking with Sound Landscaping. I asked for a quote on a one time cleanup. The gentleman on the phone said he could come by on Friday or Saturday to look at my property. I told him I'd like to meet him for the quote so I walk him through what I would like to have done. He agreed and said he would come by on Friday. I confirmed my address & phone number with him. I took the day off work to meet him. He was a no show and I haven't heard from him since my call. After my experience I wouldn't recommend others waste their time calling for a quote. Stick with other companies that will show up or at least call when missing an appointment.

They were very responsive and professional on the phone. When I explained what I needed I was transferred to someone else to give them the details of what I needed. This person was friendly and helpful. A time was set up for the visit to occur, I was told that the staff member would call me prior to coming to my home. On the day of the appointment, he never called and was a no show. This is completely unacceptable. The never attempted to contact me via phone, nor via email, I gave them both means of contact. I had the work performed by Day & Night Air Conditioning.

This is a Spring chore I did myself when I was younger, so I know exactly what I want done, and how it is done correctly. I struck out the previous 2 years with the crews I hired. They were in and out in a matter of minutes and didn't do much more than mow my lawn. When I called Sound Landscaping, Scott answered the phone and spent all the time I needed to explain what I wanted. He gave me an estimate, and we picked a date and approximate time. His crew showed up precisely on time. These 2 guys worked hard. They went back and forth, in multiple directions, as should be done, and they hauled away the amount of thatch that should be hauled away. Not just 2 bags as has happened with previous crews! They also did a thorough job of spreading the gypsum. They worked twice as hard and spent twice as much time as previous crews. This early work is critical to a healthy lawn all summer, and my lawn looks better now than it has in a few years. I hope they are not a one hit wonder, because I will call again next Spring.

I can understand that the company could be very busy, but a simple return phone call is not too much to ask. I'll find another landscaper who actually values potential customers.

Everything went well, they were great. They were timely about returning my calls for a consultation. They showed up on time to meet me and to do the work. They quoted me a fair price and stuck to that price when it was time for me to pay. My yard was a mess, and it looks great now.

They started on the date agreed to about 3 and a half weeks prior. They were on-time, courteous, and efficient. All of the work was done to our expectations. Even when the tile installed turned out not to be the color we expected, Dave had his crew and replaced the tile to our liking within one day.

I am having my patio repaired, cleaned & sealed & my contractor discovered that the bubbler system wouldn't shut off. I called Scott at Sound Landscaping and he spoke to my contractor and got the info on the valve type and then we scheduled service for the next morning. I requested he call 15 mins. before arriving so my son could be at my home & learn how my system works. Scott called1/2 hour before arriving and then took the time to explained the system & showed my son how to replace the valve. Scott took the time to answer all our questions and seemed very knowlegable. I plan on calling him again to do yearly maintenance and possible other landscaping. A VERY posative experience.

It worked and the fees were reasonable. I would hire Kenny again.

Scott arrived the day after I called to provide an estimate for the work that needed to be done and had his crew here the following day. The trimming work and the clean up was done when I returned home and the yards look fantastic. Quck response, great work and very fair price.

Very well. We have hired them on an ongoing basis. Scott, the owner, seems capable of handling just about anything regarding lawn care and maintenance. His crews are not always as careful, but Scott makes sure he follows up if the job isn't done properly.

Scott stopped by to take a look, give an estimate on a complete landscaping cleanup and sprinkler system repair. We agreed on the terms. We did not agree on a day, however since I work from home any time they show up would be ok with me. You may want to make sure to confirm a date of service. They did a good job repairing several sprinkler system leaks and had some helpful advice on a watering schedule. The yard cleanup was very thorough. I am happy with the service. I will be using them for regular maintenance work.

We called this contractor late in the day before we were leaving for a vacation. He came over the same day and worked fixing our problem and explained the job to us. He was very pleasant and we felt like we had known him for a long time. He was was confident in his work and worked quickly. We felt completely comfortable to trust Scott Swedelius and without a doubt will call him the next time we need work done.

The guys did a good overall job of the cleanup job itself. However, there was poor overall communication. Scott said via email that he would let me know one of two days that he would come out to perform the work. Did not hear back from him, and on the second day workers just showed up. After we did not answer the door bell at 8am, they just started working in the front yard without any verbal consent. Scott showed up later, I asked him why he didn't let me know in advance which day they were going to come. He said that he had been having back trouble, and the email said that they would be coming one of these two days. I just double checked, and the email definitely DID say that he would let me know which day it would be in advance. It's fairly disconcerting to wake up to see workers in your front yard, when you believe that they won't be coming because you never heard back from the owner. In any case, I won't be using Sound Landscaping again due to the communication issues. They did fine work though, the yard looks great - "A" grade work, "C" grade communications means a "B" overall rating.

Fixed some sprinkler problems for me that were fairly extensive. The valves had some issues. The service was done well and price reasonable. A couple times this company hasn't billed me or failed to leave a bill behind. This time he did leave a bill behind.

They were great. He came in and did a spectacular job. He also took care of the plants that had not been taken care and fixed the sprinkler system.

It didn't go. Didn't get a call back.

Scott was amazing. I had been trying to get another landscaper to work on my property, a friend of a friend, for almost three weeks, and he kept missing appointments and not returning calls. I finally turned to Angie's list and found Scott, and I am so glad I did. Scott showed up for our appointment on time, went over the project in detail with me, and gave me what turned out to be a very close estimate. He then showed up with three guys on the appointed day to do the work, and Scott and his guys worked super hard for the entire day, with lots of attention to detail and very pleasant attitudes. Mine was a very big project, and those guys turned a wild and wooley overgrown mess into a beautiful park in one day. He also recommended that I buy a riding mower for the future (I think I will have to!), and we discussed brands I should look into. He then called me from his home that evening, telling me that he had a flyer in the mail that day about a sale on mowers at Sears. He sure didn't have to take the time to help me find a deal on a mower, but he did. What a great guy. Scott is a very kind, personable, professional man, who works hard and does what he says he is going to do. I will definitely hire him in the future for any project that involves landscape work. I am very glad for Angie's list, for helping me find Scott and Sound Landscaping.

It was absolutely fabulous.

I called just two days ago for last minute service and Scott was very accommodating. I told him i needed someone to come Friday or the latest Saturday and be done by 12 before my sons Birthday party. Imagine my delight when they were here bright and early Friday morning. They did everything I asked to be done efficiently. They were all done in just an hour and a half. Great experience!

The cost is reasonable for the work they do.

Scott did the best job any landscaper has ever done on my property, my yard looks bigger and the rock looks brand new again. I thought I was going to need to buy new rock but after he raked and blew out all the brush it looked brand new again. He and his crew are very professional and punctual. Due to their excellent job I have hired him to come every 4-6 weeks to maintain the yard. I highly recommend this company.
