RONDO POOLS AND SPAS, INC.

Our neighbor used Rondo to build their pool and deck. They required access to the area through our lot. We granted an easement with the understanding the work would be completed in 3 months. Weeks went by with no work performed. Project took over 9 months with heavy equipment, noise, dust, and inconvenience through our lot. They were uncommunicative regarding when work was to be done despite promises to let us know. Their workers trashed our lot with litter, destroyed vegetation, and construction materials for a wall are still there. Good luck if you decide to use them as they have no problem with unethical behavior.

Buyer beware. In the showroom, there are pebblesheen samples that includes glass beads. They are NOT included and our sales person did not mention this nor was it gone over on the material selection sheet. To my surprise, 6 months later when the pebblesheen was installed NO BEADS. This is a misrepresentation to say the least. The owner, Kevin tried to make it right however his goodwill offer was an insult and did not match the disappointment that could not be undone. My contract said I could request mediation to settle this misrepresentation and the owner, Kevin, refused it. Yes, refused what the contract stated. I tried to contact him legally and filed a complaint with the ROC. No reply with an appropriate offer to make this right. So now I tell this story to everyone who is looking to buy a pool. The staff at Rondo were top notch, Ron, Cadie, Leah and Kyle - they made the pool build process easy, they were patient and transparent. I feel sad and frustrated it had to end this way. It didn't have to, I tried to be understood. Kevin don't bother replying and spin this to make you look good. You had many opportunities to make this blatant misrepresentation right.

If you decide to go with this builder be cautious and make sure you read everything thoroughly. what was promised to us in our original quote was not honored in the end, sales rep Andy was being dishonest and sneaky by removing items from our quote but the price never went down, when we caught on and questioned him about it he tried to justify by saying he had already given us a discount. Andy was being ignorant to the fact that he removed items that were already promised in the price. The sales manager Steve contacted us later and his customer service was much worse than the sales rep. I am so relieved that we didnt end up going through Rondo pools.

Rondo pools did an excellent job though out our project, from design to finish. They were able to translate my vision into a plan closer to what I imagined than the other pool companies we met with. Everyone was helpful during the process and answered all our questions. Our super was great, came by when we had questions and to check on each step. He was detail oriented and even helped with the start up so we could get in the pool a little sooner. We would certainly use them again.

Fantastic, we have used Rondo twice now. This time we worked with Bryan Ennenga there on the design and he has been great to work with. There are cheaper pool builders out there, but we have found you get the best value and service from Rondo.

It's been almost a year and I have finally calmed down enough to write a review. My initial contact with Rondo was very pleasant and I felt very excited about the design. My designer was very helpful and the initial process was a great experience. What followed was a soul crushing experience of daily disappointment. My major complaint has to do with customer service and project management. As the project dragged on it seemed that Rondo lost interest in the project and in the management of it's subcontractors. Subcontractors damaged my property (water lines, house, etc.) and I had to pay for the damages. The water feature is not set correctly and looks strange. It seemed to me that no one was really in charge of the project. My designer stopped taking any calls and I was forced to call and email everyone and anyone who would listen. I had to be very forceful to get them to pay attention and actually finish the project. Even after the water was put in I had to ask (beg) for someone to show me how to use the equipment. I eventually paid another pool company to give me an orientation and education on how to take care of my pool effectively. I'm swimming now, which I am happy about, I just wish it wouldn't have been such a bad experience.

After five estimates from pool contractors including Rondo, we were almost ready to give up the idea of a backyard pool. We sat through months of meetings, talks, and estimates from pool salesmen and contractors. We learned something about pools and their functions and upgrades. Basically, most pools and their features are nearly the same price. The excavator charges for the dig no matter who designs and sells your pool. Electricians, plumbers, shotcrete, cinder block, travertine are relatively nearly the same expense. But what made us choose Rondo was the fact that the salesman called us back after not hearing from us for six months. Adam Cresswell asked us if we would still be interested in a pool and Rondo had great incentives. We gave them a second chance to prove to us they were fair and sincere about giving us what we wanted. Rondo pools stepped up to the plate and delivered exactly what they promised. The salesman, Adam, designed our pools with our ideas and measurements. He came to our house, spent hours with us on the phone and in his office covering every detail of the pools construction, time frame, cost. There were no surprises along the way. Everything was laid out in writing and published form with pictures of what to expect and when it will be finished in a nice booklet presented to us by Rondo and staff. We were called on each day when someone would show up at our house to work. The working crews were clean, polite, courteous, and respectful not only to us but our neighbors as well. They cleaned up after themselves on a daily basis during each days work. We had travertine decking laid out in the design from the salesman Rondo used a footing for all edges of the walkways to keep the travertine in place. They bull nosed the coping at our request and covered the water leveler, skimmer, and chlorine compartment with the travertine as well. A beautiful job of fittings and stone cutting. They also laid the drain tile under the stonework and made it barely noticeable . They built us a waterfall shear and used cinder block construction, not shotcrete nor plaster and finished it with Adams suggestion of a stacked stone. Its gorgeous,,,exactly what we wanted. The pool was built with precision and passed all inspections from the County easily. The pool supervisor, Pete, stopped by nearly everyday during construction and made sure all phases were being built to our contract and to code with the county. Pete explained to us on a daily basis what was being done and what to expect tomorrow. He kept in touch with us the entire process and even answered questions after completion. The girls in the office, the engineers in the office were always available to us and pleasant to deal with. Our neighbors, friends, and other contractors have expressed their approval in awe of how the pool turned out. Rondo also included a pool starter kit and a free month of pool cleaning services to help get us started. Rondo uses excellent work crews and products during construction. They will guarantee their products and assist us if we need any and all help in the future. They have been in business many years when other pool contractors have gone under. We have nothing to say but great things from Rondo from start to finish They did exactly what they said they would do,,,build us our dream pool in a timely manner with no surprises. We are extremely happy with Rondo pools and their company and whole-heartedly recommend this company and its staff to anyone or any business thinking of building a pool. If you are in doubt which features or products to choose during the sales or construction, let the company help you. That is their skill and job experience. And they do it with perfection!

They did well, they continue to follow up on questions regarding the pool they built 5 years ago, which is doing fine.

June 8, 2014 Dear potential pool buyer, My name is Jennifer and I recently purchased a pool from Raphy Avakian, design consultant with Rondo Pools. I am taking the time to share my experience as well as my journey of research that led me to Rondo Pools. I spent a great deal of time on the internet looking for local pool builders in Phoenix. Investigated both large companies and small independent. After reading many pool builder forums, it was clear to me that going with a long standing company was a must as there is so much of the pool process that is lifetime warranty, but only if the company is still in business. So that narrowed it down to 3 potentials. From there I researched on the BBB website, Angie?s list, and other recommended pool builder websites for feedback on each company. Rondo has been building pools since 1983 and a member of the BBB since 2009 and has an A+ rating. I could not find one negative feedback from a past customer. Meeting with Raphy and Steve at my home, they could tell I was nervous about the decision and spent a great deal of time explaining everything and answered my long list of questions and concerns. Their proposal was very professional and detailed which I appreciated as I wanted to know where my money was being allocated through out the process. From showroom, to sophisticated computer diagrams, to detailed step-by-step manual that was provided for me to read about each part of the process?I was impressed. I also should add, I am not a person that makes a decision lightly and they were extremely patient and accommodating to that. Each contractor that has come to my home has been more than professional and so skilled that each part of the process seems to flow like a well-managed machine. They have been courteous about cleaning up after their day and accommodating to my dogs needing to use the yard while they are working. I have been impressed with Rondo?s choice of contractors. One contractor mentioned to me that Rondo is very particular about the work provided, which I was happy to hear. My superintendent and Raphy are consistently stopping by to ensure the contractors are providing quality work and each step is completed as requested. Every person I have talked with or dealt with regarding the pool build has taken the time to explain everything and been a pleasure to deal with. We have had our pool for one year now and are so happy with Rondo Pools!! I am in Litchfield Park, in a new area, seeing lots of pools being built in my neighborhood. Rondo has the best quality. Their excavation team was amazing. Super work on electrical, shotcrete, tile, decking, plaster, site prep, and teaching you every aspect of pool maintenance. Their crews are excellent!!! I am a 56 year old female who was at home during the whole process and am pretty picky. They are extremely customer service oriented and don't mind lots of questions. In summary, they keep their promises, deliver on-time superb quality, and put the customer first. I highly recommend Rondo Pools!!!

the last phone call I just asked why they did not want to do the job, the secretary assured me they did want the job and she was talking to the estimator on the other line and would transfer me right to him. I got his voice mail. I was very disappointed as they had put my pool in originally 27 years ago, I guess they don't like to do remodels.

Well this is a disappointing update to our Pool remodel. Our install was finished in Dec 2013. I contacted Dave the project manager multiple times after regarding leaking and a high water bill. I didn't get any help. Finally I emailed Dave and Kevin the President. I did get help and they sent out a Plumber who decided that after my pool lost alot of water overnight I did have a leak...6 months later and 6 months of water bills. They sent out a tile person to seal the tile line leak. Zero follow up to see if it actually worked. Zero apologies, zero offer to pay my 6 months of water costs. I've yet to have anyone contact me to say the leak is fixed and we're sorry. So I guess in the end they are just a Zero! Review before problems: We just completed our pool remodel with Dave Furman at Rondo Pools. I got estimates from 5 major pool builders in the valley before deciding on Rondo. We love our new pool! This was an average dollar project at $15k but we never felt our small job was less important than a big high dollar one. More importantly the process was the easiest remodel project (new kitchen, floors, & doors in a year) I've done to date on our home. I'm sure this is thanks to Dave and keeping the project on track. This is our seasonal home and I was concerned about monitoring this project from Chicago but it turned out quite easy to accomplish with Dave in constant contact with me and updates. I'd recommend Rondo pools to my friends.

GREAT COMPANY TO WORK WITH. LOW SALES PRESSURE. CHANGED DESIGNS AND FEATURES SEVERAL TIMES AT NO COST TO MEET OUR BUDGET. PROVIDED US INFORMATION ON WHAT TO EXPECT DURING BUILDING. WENT TO EXTRAORDINARY MEASURES TO HELP US WITH AN ACCESS ISSUES. ONLY CONSTRUCTIVE CRITISM IS ABOUT NOTIFICATION OF SCHEDULING - WE HAD DOGS THAT HAD TO BE LOCKED UP NEEDLESSLY SOME DAYS BECAUSE WE DID NOT KNOW A CREW WAS NOT COMING TO DO WORK. OTHER THAN THAT, EVERYTHING WAS GREAT!!

The pool and quality of the work was fine. The service and communication between the departments and with me was not very good at all. They do have good people working for the company but that was very tough to work around. I would consider using them in the future if the communication was better. They did have departments that bad mouthed one another and I really never knew who to contact. They subcontracted the salt system and when I had a question they said that they could not answer the question and they said I would have to contact the subcontractor which left a bad feeling with me as I had no relationship with the subcontractor.

They are on Angie's List and the experience was very good. The only thing we did not like is that they did not keep us abreast of when they were coming. One time he just showed up without notifying us he was coming. Sometimes we wanted to go out so we had to call them to find out if someone was coming. They broke a couple of pipes when they were taking off the old deck, but they were responsive when replacing them. Every time we called them with a problem they got back with us.

after meeting with several pool companies, Rondo pools seem to meet what we wanted and the cost. The guys who came to chisle off the roll decking had put holes in the water line, even though it was near the surface, but never told anyone about it. We had to call Rondo pools up to tell them what happened. They were prompt to come out and fix it. If we didn't intervene would anyone have noticed or known about it eventually. We were never really informed when people were coming, so we would wait until 10am just incase someone did show, since our gate is always locked as that acts as our pool barrier. The actual workmanship by the subs were excellent Overall Rondo did a good job just lacking in keeping us informed when people were coming. We thought it odd that after the job was completed we never were never asked how we liked the job or any other input

The work is beautiful--appears to be quality work. Yet, it took far longer (from early July-Sept.) than we were led to believe, and the communication between Rondo and us was somewhat lacking. For example, the hole for the pool would be dug one day, but then no work ensued for up to a week or so. We just never knew when someone would be coming out to continue the project. Rondo also insisted that there was natural gas available in our neighborhood, which we disputed. It was only after the construction began that they realized there was no natural gas, and then they presented the propane tank option, which made us modify our contract and plans.

I thought they were on the expensive side. However, they were very professional. They were extremely polite. When I went to their office for a meeting, they were extremely polite and flexible to my needs. I didn?t work with them because they were expensive. They are still trying to get the business from me at this point. Whenever I had a question, they had the answer to it. They seemed to know their business, but they were certainly charging for it. However, I thought they called too many times to check in. I didn?t want too many calls. They followed up even after a year, even though I had told them I would get back to them. They were back in an instant once I called them. I will not use them again in the future.

The good things are that everyone was really nice and they did a heck of a job and the job itself was just fantastic. The bad thing was that it took a lot longer than they said it would, but that’s okay. I have had issues with service calls, when I have put in calls for service and it has taken months to get someone out here. Other than that I am really pleased with them and would recommend them. I spent $30,000 on that work.

Extremely positive and "hassle free" experience!! Bryan in sales, listened closely to what we wanted and helped us finalize the design. Great attention to detail. Job superintendent watched contractor performance closely. Project was completed ahead of schedule with no surprises. Steve Rondeau came out on a Saturday morning for pool start up. Quality of construction is excellent. This company cares about its customers and does provide personalized service - even after the sale is completed. Great job!!!

THE POOL IS BEAUTIFUL. THEY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB AND WE ARE PLEASED. THEY DELIVERED ON TIME, AND RESOLVED ANY ISSUES QUICKLY ALONG THE WAY. PUTTING IN A POOL CAN BE STRESSFUL AS IT IS REALLY A MESS DURING THE PROCESS. IF YOU HAVE UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS OF THE PROCESS YOU WILL NOT BE HAPPY WITH ANY COMPANY. RONDO WAS GREAT TO WORK WITH IN MY OPINION.

EARLY ON IN THE PROCESS, I SHOULD HAVE SEEN THE WARNING SIGNS. OUR DESIGNER LEFT THE COMPANY, OR SIMILARLY DISAPPEARED, AND WE WERE TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER DESIGNER. AFTER SIGNING THE CONTRACT, IT TOOK 4-5 WEEKS BEFORE ANY WORK BEGAN, DESPITE CLAIMS OF HAVING POOLS FINISHED IN 8-10 WEEKS TOTAL. THE COMPANY NEVER KEPT IN COMMUNICATION AND IF I HADN'T KEPT HOUNDING THEM, I WOULDN'T HAVE KNOWN A THING. PROBLEMS WERE PLENTY DURING THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS: THEY INSTALLED THE WATER LEVELER LINE TO THE WRONG LOCATION, DESTROYING THE STUCCO ON THE HOUSE; THEY REBUILT THE WALL BEFORE REMOVING EXCESS DIRT AND DEBRIS FROM THE YARD, REQUIRING THEM TO CART IT OVER THE COMPLETED DECK AND THROUGH THE FRONT YARD; THE WATER LEVELER STILL LEAKS; THE YARD WAS NEVER PROPERLY RE-GRADED; THE GROUT FINISH IS UNACCEPTABLE. FINALLY, AFTER 24 WEEKS, THE POOL IS FINISHED. IT WILL TAKE ANOTHER TWO MONTHS AND NEW CONTRACTORS TO MAKE IT LOOK RIGHT. THEY BLAMED EVERYTHING ON THE VOLUME OF WORK.

WE DID A LOT OF RESEARCH PRIOR TO THIS PROJECT AND THEY HAD GREAT PRICING AND AN EXCELLENT AND VERY CREATIVE DESIGN THAT MET THE NEEDS OF OUR FAMILY, INSTEAD OF JUST A STANDARD DESIGN LIKE EVERYONE ELSE PROVIDED. THE CONTRACTORS WERE COURTEOUS OF OUR FAMILY AND NEIGHBORS AND THEY KEPT US UPDATED AS TO THE PROJECT AND ANY DELAYS THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS. THEY COMPLETED THE PROJECT ON TIME AND HAVE CHECKED BACK WITH US A FEW TIMES TO MAKE SURE WE ARE HAPPY WITH OUR NEW POOL.
